I took my old 2001 Ford E-150 van to Mike and the boys after years of having others, including the dealer, service the front end. Anyone who knows about this truck learns early on that the design is archaic and is plagued with many issues. Ball joints, tie rods, drag link, Pittman arms. After years of having to rebuild regularly, these guys spent the time and effort to get it right. And guarantee it. Truly unique in my experience with auto mechanics. I've since referred this shop to many others and they continue to impress. But then I found myself stranded in Manistique Mi in August with a friend and his 93 BMW T833 12 cylinder with a blown radiator. We had three options that weren't very attractive. 1st was a solution proposed from another of the passengers [ a ford connected guy ] that had us waiting a day before we'd know if his guy could help, 2nd, the car owner called a BMW dealer in Metro Detroit that had the part shipping from Stuttgart, Germany for over $1200.00 and a 3 day wait, 3rd was a local mechanic with questionable business practice and no apparent current clientele [he said he was very busy] for $450 for parts and $80 in labor...yeah right! So I decided to try All Pointes just at the outside chance they could improve our prospects. Mike took the call, and said he'd call back. Within 45 minutes we had a part on order, a plan to overnight it, next day, and do it for under $350. These guys blew the other options out of the water! This is a home brew, authentic, respectable, professional highly-knowledgable Grosse Pointe native owner. The team of guys proved their wrench wizardry, and established their extensive expertise in all-things automotive. I did a drive-by last week & witnessed part of a radical engine swap procedure. The masterful maneuvering that coordinated an Acura 500lb motor replacement made it seem like the car was built of LEGO... Seeing the car DRIVING on Mack, the next day, however, reassured me that this talent is true & All Pointes is made of master mechanics. My own experience had the All Pointes team reveal that I was well past overdue for my spark-plugs to be replaced. (apparently 200,000 miles is considered a good, long run :) I left my ride with these guys & came back a bit later to a fully completed surgery. My husband and I are very impressed with the staff, knowledge, and professionalism of All Pointes Auto Service. They checked out my 2002 Pontiac Sunfire when I was having problems with it. Even though they were very busy that day they found time to look at and diagnose my car. Unfortunately due to the age and the work that needed to be done, we chose not to get it fixed, but that's just it, we were given an honest appraisal and, like many other reviews say, we were not looked at as dollar signs, but customers. The owner took the time to talk to us personally and explain in relatively simple terms what was wrong with my car. I also thoroughly appreciated how he looked at me as well as my husband while he talked to us, even though he might have guessed that I had very little idea what he was talking about. My Toyota truck suddenly developed no power the other day and was only drivable after cooling down and then only for a 1/2 mile before it'd die again. Also I have been running on a loud exhaust system for a while (no money as a nursing student) after the shop that repaired the original equipment muffler on my truck wanted a ridiculous amount of money ($600+) to fix it again (the parts they used the first time weren't compatible with what they could buy now!) My wife and I eat at Telly's on Mack from time to time and All Pointes Auto is right across the street. I've often wondered how reputable they are considering they're just a short walk from home. Knowing I could not drive my truck all the way to the Toyota dealer, I decided to give them a try. They fixed the problem with the engine not wanting to run and repaired the exhaust system, all for $170. I'll go back to them for all of our vehicles. I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee to All Pointes Auto, because the heater was not working, and a friend had referred me. Based on work that had been performed on my Jeep, previously, I was nearly certain that the repair would call for a $70 part and an hour of labor. How wrong I was... the master mechanics at All Pointes were quick to report that the root cause was merely a wiring short. They fixed the problem in about 5 minutes, and charged me less than $20, total! I found the mechanics at All Pointes Auto Service to be knowledgable, honest, transparent and fair. My experience was nothing short of comforting, especially given the unpredictable encounters I have had with other auto service shops. I felt good about getting my vehicle serviced at All Pointes. People and organization like this are few and far between and even harder to find.Usually you get to choose two out of three between quality,speed and cost.With All Points I got all three. My Mini Cooper S check engine light came on. The only dealer ,on the far side of town,said they could get me in next week and it would cost $125 to diagnose the problem to start and go from there depending on what they found. Having never been to All Points before I stopped in just to see what they would say. In 20 minutes Mike had diagnosed the problem and had me on my way. And for considerably less than the dealers starting point. And I didn't have to travel across town, get a ride back and repeat the process when my car was repaired. Life's to short. hey these guys are great!!! came in one time because of an tire pressure monitor broke in half while driving and then tore my tire in pieces...did i mention 07 range rover?..that usually means take all my money on repairs that i have no clue what they are...and hey iam an local 17 ibew tree trimmer...so not white collor but yes work hard and get nice things but fear nice things when broken may "break me" so releaved they wont!!! there prices no difference from american cars and this is my first foreign but i love my suv and now my fear of owning a "range rover" is no longer an issue thanks to them...also i only met them maybe 2 minutes with my problem and next day without a "deposit" they had part in hand as i opened the door and even knew my name..thats "old school" and the true reason america prospered for so many years read more

My Wife and I moved to the area from Wisconsin and started using a different local company for auto care. After having difficulties getting a belt repaired, and the constant squealing of a new belt I took my car in to get looked at by Mike and his team. They uncovered that the other company installed the wrong part, and not only could they get me the right part, but they will install it for no charge since the belt was under warrantee, and they did not want to charge labor. The latest issue I had was when my cars spare tire was stolen. I approached the team there and they were able to find the part, and the owner himself went under my car and installed the unit (30 minutes) at no labor charge. Highly recommend this garage because they did NOT work on our 2001 Caravan with nearly 250,000 miles on it. After determining the immediate problem and checking the overall condition of the vehicle the guys found several things that could have added up to a $1,000 tab. Nate said that in good conscience he couldn't recommend sinking any money into the minivan. Too many issues, and those were the things that needed addressing today. I took my 2008 S550 here after several shops failed to fix the problem. They quickly found the broken part and fixed it for a great price. They also took the time to explain what was wrong and gave me all my options for me to choose. I also took my 2009 Jeep Patriot Sport here as well, and they provided the same exact level of service. I needed an easy tire repair. I first went to Mack Alger Firestone and they said it would take them 1 1/2 hours! These guys are so accomadating, so honest, so fair, they do the job right the first time every time, and so far we have never had issues, we have a 2008 ford edge so its getting up there.
