I changed wheel bearing on one of my wheels on a Saturday. The next day while driving the car it had a noise, something was banging and the car was shaking on the freeway. I was nervous to use the car but drove on surface streets back to VD Auto Service. The bald guy was extremely rude. While he test-drove my car, he stopped and asked me a question, as I was responding he just drove off. He later said there was nothing wrong other than I need to change my break pads. I told him I didn't feel safe, my car shaking and a banging noise that does not sound like just needing to change break pads. He got really upset challenging me and refusing to check my car. The other nicer worker interrupted us and said let's go check it out. We drove a few blocks and said indeed there was something wrong. When they mounted the car, I was asked to come see how the wheel was completely loose, bolts were loose. I was then asked who took the tire off. I responded, "you did.. on Saturday while I was here". Apparently, they put the wheel back together but did not tighten the bolts properly, the wheel could've just come off as I drove on the freeway. From there I didn't hear anything, nobody gave me instructions on what was coming. My car sat there for a couple of hours. I felt uncomfortable asking what's wrong or how long would it take as they all seemed upset. I decided to grab a bite, when I returned I saw my car on the side meaning it was ready. The older man Mo was standoffish and didn't say a word nor acknowledge me being there. They all saw me but no one would say anything, so I stood there a few more minutes hoping I could get my keys and take off. Finally Mo approached me. He handed me the keys and said "your car is over there". I was utterly dumbfounded. I asked what was wrong with the car. All he said is "take care". I will not return here, nor do I recommend this place. The negligence itself from driving with a loose wheel and knowing I could've caused an accident on the freeway is unacceptable. And to make matters worse, owner and bald guy filled with attitude and anger... no thank you, never again. Buyer beware. read more

My car been back and forth with them doing work they never fixed but say they did i have cross wires that keep draining my battery car shut down and cut off where ever you are air conditioner fan won't shut off luckily the car shut down or me and my daughter could have been in a car fire and he keep telling me to bring it back I took it to another shop and I'm going to give him the bill for the work he never completed. i came here on 1/13/23 to get a my oil leak fixed he looked at it n told me what needed to be replaced i also got a motor mount replaced when i picked the car up he told me if there's any oil leaking don't worry its old so a couple days go by n i still see oil but i wasn't to worry after 4 months the leak was worse like sometime when i check the oil it's nun on the stick i took it back he then told me it was something different causing it to leak oil i also got my oil pressure sensor replaced when im driving it still sayin low oil pressure stop engine but sometime the car has oil now i just had someone come fix on my car n they told me the motor mount needed to be replaced (ik im all over the place) but im just upset on how much money i spent n nothing i paid for is fixed correctly or probably replaced was bad parts read more

Don't bother! Didn't even get in the door yet called to get a quote the man didn't even answer the phone properly!! Just says "hello"... we proceeded to ask if we can get an estimate guy was a total a**hole on the phone and sounded like he didn't even want service, "what, huh? no" asked what are your hours and our cal was a major inconvenience to him. This is the best place for auto services and repairs. Everytime I get to go and visit for a car repair or something else, Mo is always been very helpful and honest with each of my repairs and he is very nice and courteous to my family that I have sent there. He seems to never forget you or you vehicle's, maybe because I need to either ask a question about the car or my family's cars, and that's the only place that I will go and I seem to go a lot. Just because of the cars that we drive. Lol. If they are not available to fix my problems that day, Mo will be very honest and let you know when you can come back in. Usually the car is fixed as I wait and I don't think that I have to wait very long. So if you need someone who can help you with your vehicle then you need to go to VanDyke Auto. I try to leave a little lunch money and Mo always declines it, but I have insisted and insisted. He deserves a little more pats on the back and also the men who work for him. Don't get me wrong about the tips, but that's is not a policy that I know of but if you have a few dollars or a nice word, I would think that it would be a good idea. But like I said, that's my idea and I don't always have a chance to tip them, I just did it once because I was able to witness a man that had to have his car fixed and the part was a little pricey but he seemed to be very happy with the way he was treated, so he was able to give some lunch money to the guys there. I thought that was very nice and amazing to be able to do that just because he appreciated the way he was taking care of. Also I think that kind words to are very important too.
