I highly recommend Kevin at J & M Collision. I brought my VW Wagon there for an estimate to fix my bumper from a minor incident. Kevin looked at it, started to pull on it and got the bend out with 3 tools then jumped up again and got one screw and drill then fixed it like abracadabra while I watched! He also cleaned off the bottom end by the back tires where tar spattered on the body from streets that had pot hole repairs. All took about 1/2 hour. The best part he didn't charge me a dime let alone a dollar! Who does that now a days?! He has no idea how much he helped me out cuz I was stressed out and strapped for cash. Came here back in April 2024. They rushed my truck out the door had a huge body gap in between the fender in the hood took it back. They fixed it thankfully. Now here I am in 2025 can't even get a simple estimate I called said that I would be there at 2 PM. Waited 15 minutes not a single person even bothered to come into the waiting room. I drove over a very small metal pole that was sticking out of the pavement in a parking lot. I didn't see it as it was so small and the same color as the pavement. But it ripped something on the bottom of my car and it destroyed my bumper cover. Fluid started leaking out of the bottom of my car. So I had the car towed to J&M collision for the repairs. I can't say good enough things about J&M. Not only did they do a beautiful job matching the paint on the replacement bumper cover, but they had the good judgment to send the car to the dealership so that my new car warrantee would not be compromised. It turned out that the fluid I saw leaking out of the bottom of my car was engine oil. I had damaged the oil pan and the repair required special tools which the dealership had. J&M took care of everything and even managed the towing of my car to the dealership for the engine repair. I have my car back and it is as good as new. I had no hassles with my insurance company as J&M explained everything to them and got the necessary approvals without hassling me. I strongly do not recommend this facility. A bad experience all-around with, unfortunately, nothing redeeming when you combine the below characteristics. Summary: -unprofessional -poor workmanship -deceitful -lack of accountability As Vicki (front desk) would put it "they suck." Those are her exact words when referring to direct repair shops. But I am referring to this shop, J&M Collision. Her lack of professionalism was the first sign to move on. Unlike the other reviews I didn't feel an instant rapport with anyone here. They ignored me from the moment that I agreed to have my vehicle repaired here until there was a HUGE alignment problem with my bumper. Then Vicki tried to be friendly. That's a little too late... My second sign was that this was the highest estimate of all the ones I had gotten. But, I thought, this was the only shop that opened up the hood of my car to inspect it for damages after a front end collision... I guess that means they're greedy. They returned my vehicle with a noticeable front bumper alignment issue. While it was in the wash, they asked for payment. My mistake was paying for the repairs before inspecting it. When I asked about the "repairs," Kevin didn't take responsibility. He blamed the insurance company for dictating the supplier of the bumper. Then he told me that there was no way for him to know that the bumper would not fit properly before painting it. He even claimed that someone else was working on that portion and he was concentrating on something else! Even in the off chance that those are justifiable excuses (which I highly doubt), signing off on something like that is inexcusable when you're in change. When he was caught, he proceeded to dodge any responsibility. He even tried to use the fact that came early and waited part of the afternoon as an excuse that they hurried. I rode my bike there so they wouldn't have to give me a ride to the shop! Worst "customer service" from a body shop I have ever experienced. I had to go back to this shop again. They were basically forced to pay for a car rental for me. They requested that I return my vehicle before 10 am so they wouldn't get charged for another day, yet didn't seem to realize I had to wait at least another week after paying to receive the repairs I had paid for. I asked Enterprise how late I could have returned it without incurring another day's fee and they said 1 pm.... Not too surprising given their modus operandi. Insurance probably wouldn't have covered it if I had gone to another shop, so I didn't really have a choice. They claimed the insurance would pay for two bumpers... Well, if only one bumper was damaged, I highly doubt this is the case. Yet another instance where they appear to be trying to deceive someone. I'm not buying it. read more

I had been rear ended a few weeks ago and looked to Yelp for a good place to start getting quotes for the repair. After getting a walk-in quote from J&M I decided to not get any other quotes and get the work done with them. I can't say whether the price was good or not; as my insurance covered the full amount of the repairs. I can say that my insurance didn't bat an eye at the costs though, if that means anything. I got the car back when initially promised it to be done and the repairs look GREAT! They even washed the outside and cleaned and vacuumed the inside. Super nice people at the front desk. 8/10/15 brought my dad's truck to be worked on. My dad wanted to take it to another place who wanted him to replace an entire door on a 2000 Dodge Ram. After some persuasion, I brought the truck here and was told that it's a common problem. He spent 5 minutes fixing it and told me, the expensive option would be to replace the door, but this will do on a truck this old. As good as new. I've had the pleasure of dealing with Kevin a few times, although the meeting of these was under unfortunate circumstances he definitely made them better. I was referred here by Paul from A&A Auto in Troy because of an issue with my first accident - Kevin had my car fixed and working properly within a day or two. He charges incredibly fair prices and gives you detailed information about where he's at in the process and whats required and the quote for it before just doing something. They seem to be pretty busy usually and I guess that says something for their clientele to keep returning. I will admit the second time my car required more intense reviving I did have to call a few times and follow up (this was during a winter storm and they said they had a large influx of customers) but I believe my persistence may have annoyed them I needed to make sure my car was fixable in a timely matter otherwise I would've taken it to a dealership however he fixed it ASAP and sent me on my way within a few days. I took in a small plastic trunklid assembly that needed to be painted and matched to body color. Kevin could not do it right way and instead came up with the brilliant idea of removing the parts from the new assembly and replacing the faulty ones in the old and eliminating the need to paint. I really wanted to like them but alas, this was not the case. in our first repair experience in Sept/Oct, we had the front bumper on our Honda Pilot replaced. It was ready on time and we were able to pick it up in the evening. The following day we noticed the gray on the bumper was a few shades darker from the rest of the car. We called, took it back so they could look at it and scheduled a time to have it painted. They were accomodating with timing and were able to rectify issue. This past time, we had the same issue but were not given priority in getting it fixed nor did we receive calls back. They finally ended up fixing it after multiple delays and excuses saying a Honda rep needed to check it and so on. The first time I assumed it was simply an accident and never thought we would end up with the same problem with no acknowledgement of responsibility. After all, shouldn't the color correctness be checked before delivery back to the customer. I know J&M has high ratings online which is why I went with them to begin with. Unfortunately, they did not live up to expectations and I will not go back. Make sure you pick up your vehicle during the day and don't be surprised with being dropped to the bottom of their priority list if you have issues. I noticed the bumper of my '09 Mercedes looked loose on one side a few days ago and wanted to be fixed right away. I researched repair/collision shops online, and after reading many reviews I picked J & M Collision. They had several positive reviews, and I'm very happy I did! I called them in the morning and explained the issue, they said they could take a look at it the same day and possibly fix it as well if it was a minor job. Turns out is was a easy job to repair and they were able to fix it the same day (I was thinking positive so I had my boyfriend follow me there just in case!) I picked it up just before closing, the bumper was perfect and the cost was extremely reasonable! They also touched up a little area of clear coating paint which wasn't done well previously by someone else, and although I do need to have the entire door repainted again it looks much better, and I will have them do it the full job. I'd like to thank J & M for taking the 'pain' of going to a collision repair shop, they are easy to deal with, reasonably priced, and do great work!
