Unfortunately, on a Sunday morning there are not a lot of choices to choose from...then I googled closest mechanic near me and this place popped up. I called ahead and was quickly greeted by a nice guy who told me to bring my car in and the team will take a look at it. I slowly drove over to the mechanic shop and was pleasantly surprised by how clean the shop was AND the professionalism of the staff. The gentlemen working the front desk was very nice and made me feel really comfortable. I ended up getting more air in all of my tires by another super nice gentlemen who was happy to help me. They checked all four of my tires to ensure I was ready for the road. It's safe to say, I truly appreciated that they were not only open on a Sunday when everyone else was closed but how fast, efficient, and KIND every person was. What I loved most was the fact no one tried to sell me on anything and the staff seemed to really care about me - the customer. For this alone, I definitely can see the value of of coming when my car needs additional service. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area and in need of an excellent team to take care of your vehicle.

I came to this business to get a slow leak fixed. They proceeded to try and sell me two new tires instead of just fixing the slow leak. I told them I didn't want to buy two new tires today; especially since they were pricing them over and above what was being offered on the Goodyear site for the same tires. I asked them why that was. They came some bs excuse that the price online wasn't including the labor or the road protection plan. REALLY! I wonder if they would have pulled the same crap, if I was a guy!! I thanked them for their time. They said they understood and would fill the tire before giving me the keys back. Well, guess what they didn't even put air in the tire. This is the car that my 18 yr old daughter drives to get her back and forth to school. Real class act they are, not!! I definitely will not be spending my money there. I was able to get the tire fixed at Costco. I will be buying the tires from a business that isn't trying to cheat or lie to me and offers excellent customer service.

I am a long time customer of Discount Tire for multiple vehicles. Discount Tire in Lathrup Village…read moreis the truth! Their hazard insurance/certificate is a great value with pothole season upon us. My dashboard was continuously indicating one tire was experiencing low pressure even after adding air a couple times and another tire had a visible bulge on it. The Discount Tire team work on a rotation at the service counter. On my recent visit, I had the pleasure of getting the Service Assistant Manager, Tyler Baur. He indicated the bulge was most likely caused by hitting a pothole and the bulge was the indication of what was happening inside the tire. He got my other tire looked at and they determined there was a small piece of metal causing a slow leak that they were able to remove. My hazard certificate took care of replacing the other tire with the bulge. So, I received a $180 tire replacement plus a repair of the other for me to be out the door for less than $34. I'm confident and pleased that my tires are in a good and safe condition for the road. Thank you Tyler and Discount Tire!

I've bought at least 4 sets of tires here but the service has gotten worse and worse over the years. I originally came here for tires in the winter but the lines were insane so I waited til May when I figure they'll be slow but it doesn't seem to help.

I had been scrambling to fix an engine/turbo issue on my modified Subaru WRX for two months. Between my tuner and the dealership we came to know satisfactory conclusions which cost me nearly $2,000 to no avail. I called here after a quick google search and spoke with Greg. He recommended a smoke test to check for vacuum leaks which was the next logical step so I was excited to hear him say that. I dropped my car off in the morning of our appointed day and by 12pm I received a call from Chris stating the the smoke test identified the hose leak (post-turbo) and that he was able to fix it. I have driven the car about 50 miles since then and my baby is back to it's good old street racing self! I am so grateful for Greg and Chris's help. Best part is they charged me a very fair rate for their services and did not rip me off. I will be coming back to get a bit more work done in the coming weeks and recommend this garage to my friends.

Needless to say about four months later because of all the engine oil burning and everything the engine finally seized at 88,000 miles. I wouldn't take a matchbox car to get repaired there.

Uncle Ed's was notorious for high pressure trying to sell you stuff you don't need, and they would flat out lie about you needing something replaced. When I went to uncle Ed's, they told me my wipers were worn out and needed to be replaced. I was like, ok can you do me a favor? I just bought them ten minutes ago. Can you write me up something to go back and complain about the product? He started back peddling. Anywho sorry, I don't mean to go on about them. I have probably been here about six or seven times Now they have a very different style. They will recommend what you may need, but there is no high-pressure sales tactic. I have to say that I trust coming here. They have never steered me wrong or tried to high pressure me into something I didn't need.

I looked underneath (picture) and it turns out that they stripped the hell out of her drain plug, which is now at a mechanics shop, hoping I can get it re-tapped and not have to replace the oil pan. How effing difficult is it to thread an oil drain plug correctly, while standing up with clear access to it??? Then to torque the bolt down so hard it might be beyond repair?? That isn't just negligence. One of their employees willfully torqued a misthreaded bolt down so hard it stripped the threads. AND making matters even worse,I have a claim into valvoline which I have not heard back from them. Who the heff is going to pay for this, not only for the repair, but my time and being down a car?? Not these people, apparently. They have kicked it up to corporate and all I hear now are crickets. Now, most likely, I'm going to have to waste even more of my time and effort to sue them in small claims court. So if you want to go through all of this, by all means, get your oil changed here... Update - Valvoline and this shop now have me in a loop of hades, where nothing is getting done. They so destroyed the drain that I need a new oil pan. The manager at this shop wants to "look at it" or find someone cheaper to replace the pan. They are not doing a damn thing, I will end up paying for this myself and suing them in small claims court. I will be happy to update this post with good news if they actually do the right thing, but so far the should be bending over backwards to accommodate me and it's the opposite - they aren't calling back when they say they will, disconnecting calls after i've been on hold for 10 minutes, giving me the runaround. Again- if you want this kind if hassle and. $1,500 oil pan repair bill - go to this place... Update 2: They finally took care of the problem and sent payment to the mechanic. I am still very unhappy that we had to go through all of this but in the end they made it right and there's a lot (good/honorable) to be said about that.
