What a rip off that Mike is. $150 for one break line, its 2 bolts and one line removal. Then make new line and replace with 2 bolts plus its all open not in tight or hard to reach spot, done in less then one hour and part is under $15. What a RIP off this place is read more

Seriously if you own your car, go here. Thanks to Michigans icy roads and lack of budget for salt truck drivers and salt as a whole....I had a nice slip downhill...luckily I was able to turn my car to hit the curb instead of the car in front of me....However.... That left me with some major shakeage as I got on the freeway, knowing something was wrong I headed to Taylor. They diagnosed the problem in about 10 minutes as a bent rim....problem? It costs about 225 bucks from the dealership...fabulous. Well, they told me they would try and find me a used one...and that they did within one day!! 115 bucks, as opposed to 225 and I got out of there with an oil change for 148...AMAZING and it was done in 1.5 business days. Seriously, it might be a little out of the way, but it's worth it to save mega cash and honest, friendly service!!! read more

This is gonna be kind of long... but this place is fantastic. I had something happen to my car 2 days ago. I had to work so I had my roommate drop it off. So he didn't have to wait they gave him a ride home. First off that's awesome customer service. They called me when my car was done. It took them less then half a day to fix it, and on top of a good price he did extra things. Like he put a headlight in my car with out me even asking. It wasn't on the bill. Whoever fixed my car even took it spin themselves to fix 2 broken vents that were driving me crazy for like a year! When I got there to pick up my car the woman at the desk was also a super sweetheart. I can't recommend Taylor auto to you guys enough. This is why mom and pop shops are the best. Absolutely fabulous place. They are very honest and fair, and it is clear they don't want to upcharge you or start fixing things without knowing the real problem first. Due to my own idiocy, I had to call them on two separate occasions to ask them about a problem I was having with my car - and they gave me sound advice on how to fix the problem myself. The mechanic didn't try to convince me to come in, he correctly recognized the problem and helped me fix it over the phone. Most recently my alternator began acting up. I called them on a weekday in the afternoon to see if they could take a look at it. Robbi (sp), advised I come in sooner rather than later, and they would try and squeeze me in and do what they could. I dropped my car off at 3 that same day and they had it done the next day at 12, amidst all their other projects (they were clearly busy). Robbi is great about calling and updating with what is going on, and their prices are amazingly fair. Can't recommend enough! read more

Great local repair shop. I had a blower motor go out in my S-10 and needed to have it replaced quickly as average temperatures this week have hovered around 20. So, based on the recommendation of a friend, I stopped by for an estimate. I was quoted a very reasonable price AND they said I could drop it off on Saturday morning and it would take about 3 hours. Oh hell yes, sign me up. True to their word, they called me after about 2.5 hrs and it was done and working great. It will be nice to have heat Taylor Auto Maintenance...thank you! read more

Wow, what a shop.............my 2005 cadillac srx was making a horrible racket........3 shops and 2 dealerships could not determine the problem.......possibly in the timing chains........i read the reviews on yelp and decided to give these guys a try........ O my first visit, Mike broke out his mechanics stethoscope, as opposed to (2) other shops including a dealership, using a long screwdriver to the ear........to listen to the rattle......i thought that was pretty special...........and professional too..........he then tightened the tensioner..........no luck............he said bring it back and leave it.........I did just that..........caught a ride home........3 hours later, Mike called me back and told me he tought he had it............worn out oil coupled with the fact, wrong oil.........and low....... so we switched oil at normal oil change price, by the way..........when i went to pick the car up, he spent approx 20 mins explaining the dos and donts of my 3.6 engine, synthetic oils and maintenance and upkeep......... I insisted on paying him for the diagnosis in addition to the syntethic blend and oil filter change.......... estimates from 3 other shops were $900.........$1200..........sit down for this one: $2500 my cost at Taylor Auto: $96.25........which included the $30. for diagnosis........... Quality, value and great people skills! You Have to try these guys! read more

I had experienced some unfortunate car trouble and did a quick search for a shop in the area. This was the one that popped up, and I took the chance. I'm really glad I did. The owner was super nice, they only charged 30 dollars to look at my vehicle, and was completely forward about the amount of repairs that truly needed to be done in order to get my car driveable again. This guy came off as someone who wouldn't swindle you. I really appreciate that out of a shop. Definitely recommend them. read more

These people are great. Super friendly, super fast, and totally honest. I first took my car to them a couple of months ago because my check engine light had been on for ages and it wasn't running so well. My problem was diagnosed and it turned out I needed a major car repair that I absolutely could not afford. Their quote came in at about $1k for replacing the water pump and timing belt on my PT Cruiser (very common repair on PTs according to the internets), which was about $500 less than a dealership and $200 less than everything I'd read online. Regardless, I couldn't afford it at the moment and they gave me a quick fix for like $20 to try and get me a couple more months to save up the money for the repair. When I called them back and told them I was going to have to have a friend of the family do it (for about $350 less), they were so nice and understanding that I knew I'd be taking my car there for any future maintenance. I have yet to have the repair done because I have since been on an indefinite vacation from employment, but the fix has held up and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that nothing serious happens any time soon. That brings us to today. I popped in this morning for an oil change, tire rotation and new wiper blades and got out of there for just under $70 and in about 30 minutes. Totally reasonable prices and quality work to boot! If you want to go there for an oil change, I recommend calling ahead and making sure they have time for you because while I was there, two other ladies came in for oil changes and there's only so many people working there. During the week, I'm guessing you shouldn't have a problem getting in though. I highly recommend Taylor Auto Maintenance because they totally care about their customers and I truly believe their number one goal is customer satisfaction, because they know that's how you build and maintain that kind of business. They realize times are tough right now too and while they need to make a profit like any other business, they are definitely not taking people for a ride like most of the other shops I've been to. I've been looking for a new shop for years, after having countless bad experiences, and I'm so happy to have found one. read more

My 04 Ford Escape died on me in the parking lot of a local restaurant. While waiting for a friend to give me a jump, I yelped local mechanics and this one came up. It got great reviews, so when the jump didn't work, I had my roadside service drop me at Taylor Auto Maintenance. Best decision EVER! Mike called me in the morning before I had a chance to call him. He was fairly certain of what my problem was, based upon the symptoms I put on the late night drop box envelope. He gave me a quote, and told me if it turned out to be something else, he'd call me back. A few hours later, we talked and my alternator was fixed. A couple smaller problems were taken care of, and an oil change was thrown in, on the house. When I picked up my vehicle, we ended up chatting at length and not only is Mike a great businessman, he's involved in the community. He recommended local restaurants and I can't wait to try them out. We also quoted out some work on my car that needs doing but isn't mission critical. This shop is amazing! They are extremely honest and will work with you on ALL occasions. After the huge flood in Michigan, my truck hydrolocked. They stayed until 7PM to diagnose the car. I have taken all my families cars and trucks here for repairs and tune ups for years. They are competitive with their prices ( lower and better warranties). They have 2 bays and it is a family business so it is not a big business, they care about their work and stand behind all repairs. They have never tried to sell me anything I did not need and have actually told me in the future you may need this done, keep and eye on it and bring it back in when such and such happens. On my way home my heat cut out for a few minutes then came back on. It was cold didn't want to have a problem so I stopped here, asked them to take a look and a price to fix whatever was wrong. about 15 minutes later the tech came back said water pump has a slow leak, and said he added antifreeze, you now have heat. Told me it would be $267.00 said bring back in 2 days then charged me 30$ for putting antifreeze in it. I asked if i bring it back will they credit the 30$ toward the 267.00? They said no. ~ NICE Its not that they charged me, its how they went about it. "Nowhere was it posted they charge to look at your car nor did they say that there would be a charge if they looked at it. Moreover, the tech added antifreeze without asking or consulting me... then charge me for it. I had an unopened gallon in the back, but i guess they would have known that because they didn't bother to ask. UPDATE: 1/28/14 Took the van to K&k at 8 mile and John R said it would be 85$ labor + 60$ parts, but water pump not leaking, a little trans fluid from the pan, but nothing else. Then I took it to another garage just to be sure (oil change just north of 8 mile john r). Told them 2 garages looked at the van; 1 garage says water pump leaking and other garage says water pump fine. They did a pressure test, found no issues.. water pump is fine, said some of the water in the anti freeze may have froze and could explain the interruption of heat. he said they had problems with 50/50 freezing in clients cars that day and this morning. neither garage would accept money for looking at the van. read more
