This place was recommended by some family friends a while back. My parent's were having some issues with one of their cars a while ago. We have been working with this skilled and friendly team for a while. Only charged us about $150 to take a look and diagnose the car. They have helped diagnose some knocks here and there. The team members here are friendly and helpful and so laid back, feels like the local shop in a small town for sure. Rude and abrupt bad customer service- Called to receive a quote on services needed for my vehicle. The guy answered the phone sounding rushed like he didn't want to be bothered. There was no greeting or professionalism displayed during the phone call. I advised that I would like to go over a list of services needed. Before I could finish talking I was abruptly interrupted by the guy," we don't give quotes over the phone." He never tried to help me or ask me any questions about my vehicle. I felt that I was upsetting him by calling. Based on first impressions I choose to seek other auto centers who will first listen and display professionalism, competence and customer service etiquette toward customers. Because if someone can't handle a phone call then how will my vehicle be handled. I hope this review helps. Have A Wonderful Day Response to owner reply: I was polite to you when I called the shop. You're making excuses for your bad behavior, dismissiveness, and treating me poorly. You could've asked to take my name and number and offered to call me back when you had time. Or you also could've invited me to come in-person to learn more and proceed with the next steps. However, you failed to offer any options and displayed no concern at all to help me. If being professional on the phone will cause a hardship. If you're that overwhelmed then you should hire more help. Do yourself a favor please go take some customer service classes so you can learn how to treat customers with respect and communicate professionally. I had a nail in my tire and the tire shops nearby were booked through tomorrow. I was in the middle of my shift as a delivery driver, so I was on a time crunch, and Sam told me to come right in and they'd see what they could do. They had the tire repaired and got me out in under 15 minutes, at no charge. Great people doing great work, and I didn't have to wait a whole day,which meant I could go right back to delivering pizzas! Overall exceptional experience! read more

Brought my car in here after I found it leaking oil. They were open on the weekend and encouraged me to bring my car right over. I had just moved here and found these folks on Yelp. They were great - super honest. They figured out that the cause was an oil drain plug and even called the spot I had gotten an oil change from just days before. Had explained the issue to them and told me to go right over and they'd take care of it because it was their responsibility. No charge, super nice, fast service. Will definitely be back here for further auto needs, and you should definitely check them out also! read more

They're not the fastest, not the slowest. Not the cheapest, but not the most one expensive. They're solid. But I will say this, I've had two recent issues with my SUV. The kind of issues where they sometimes rear their head and sometimes not. One was an occasional not starting problem. Both problems I called all over the East side, telling the problems. They all wanted it towed or brought in while the issue was happening. Which isn't always convenient when you work, and have to wait around to get stranded on the job? We took our car here instead of our usual mechanic because it's convenient and right by our house. Got a call saying it would be over $1,500 to fix the problem. This is a beater and not even worth it to pay that much, the guy kept going on about how we shouldn't junk the car and just spend the money to fix it because "they will get the most quality parts to fix it". We ended up saying no and took it to our usual spot in Madison heights.....$280 to fix. The people at Mack Auto Center are taking advantage of customers. Thank God we got a second opinion. Read stellar reviews of this shop on the Nextdoor app. The underside plate on my car got bent back as I was stuck driving in the 6/25/2021 flash flood. Called Mack auto center and was told to bring it in. The mechanic bent and soldered plate back in place. I was waiting to hear how much it would cost, the owner said, "No Charge" it was simple and in times like this we have to stick together! This place is fantastic!! My sun roof was stuck open, not closing even with the manual switch. The dealership wouldn't be able to even look at my car until the next week, and on top of it all it was supposed to thunderstorm! On a whim I found Mack Auto Center and i am SO happy I did! Sam and his team were fantastic--stopped everything they were doing to fix it and it took them all of 5 minutes! Phenomenal service, phenomenal price--couldn't recommend more! I cannot say how highly I regard these guys. Sam is the best, he's on top of everything. Mike can find what's wrong and will find what is going on with your car. I have pestered them with questions, answered their questions on how my car was running. They found one of the major problems I has been happening to my car for years. It's fixed, Mike and Darrin take pride in their work and love to show and explain what the issue was. Want you to understand what they did and then let you see the old and the new parts, sometimes prior to installation. I have brought my car in to other places and that has never happened. These guys are hands down the best! When I first moved to the area my husband and I started having car troubles and I was very nervous about finding a mechanic that would be honest with me (esp since I know nothing about cars) and I am very grateful to have found this place. The owner is always there, whatever issue he's fixing, he and the mechanics make sure I know exactly what the problem is by actually taking me to my car and showing me what the problem is and explaining to me why it's an issue and how it can be fixed. If a part is too expensive to replace in that moment, they help direct you on what can do in the interim to avoid damage and save costs. The owner always does his research to get you the best price possible. When the hub and bearing broke down in one of our cars in Ann Arbor, I called the shop and talked to the owner about the issue and he told me if the diagnosed problem sounded correct (based on our description) and what a fair cost of repairing it would be. So even though I couldn't take the car to the shop, it was nice knowing I could talk to someone who knew about cars and could tell me if I was getting ripped off or not. If you have to drop your car off, they have a shuttle drop you off at home and pick you up, which is really nice. When you go here these guys treat you like family and really have your best interest in mind. I'm really grateful to have found this place, I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs a good mechanic! read more
