Stay Clear! Unless you don't mind ZERO customer service and questionable answers from both Employee and Manager I took my car in to get repaired since multiple reviews and family members said it was great. The first interaction was fine I called and spoke to a nice woman she was helpful and gave me information I needed to get started since I had Progressive Insurance. WORD TO THE WISE *** Any collision shop will have longer times with Progressive then other companies this isn't the Collision shops fault *** Once I completed what was needed with Progressive I went in to have them look over the car and give me an estimate on completion. The employee stated 2 weeks without any hiccups I stated that was WAY quicker then Gerber Collision and Glass was (4-6 weeks+) I signed paperwork and then returned a week later to drop my car off I had 1 item I was paying for 1 item my insurance company was paying for.... Here comes the issues - During the WHOLE entire process, I only received text updates on my portion never a single time did the company call me and update me on the other portion. During the process I had to call them for updates and times when it would be complete... Never did they call and update me. - The process went from 2 weeks to 6.5 weeks of waiting. Their response was "Progressive needed to come back on site, and look it over again" I was told they have someone onsite which would imply they were working there. - I noticed my gas was running lower over the long period that I was there, I looked at the maps and it seemed that someone took my car for 11 miles to a residential neighborhood for about 30 mins. - Once I was finally told the car was ready we looked it over... There was a bunch of residue/spots on the trunk and the side panel/molding by my tire was scratched up which was not part of the original issue. When I approached the employee about these issues he took the car back and stated the following "The residue was from Maple Syrup or Pine Tree, we tried to get the scratches out but the tech ended up spraying your paint with the chemical and it burned through the paint so that needs to be fixed now" After all this I had to wait another week for the car to be fixed again - I once again had to call and request when it was ready to be picked up.. This time speaking to the manager/boss, I stated should I be good to go or will I fine more issues? "No issues you will be good" The morning I was to go I called and said I'd be picking up in several hours the manager/boss said ok I'll get it cleaned up. - Arriving to pick up 2 new issues were found since the last time I arrived (Some kind of mark on my trunk and the tail light had scuffs) Once again I had to approach the manager/boss he stated "Take it with you, we will come and get it and fix it and bring it back to you" Fast forward another week they take it back fix the issues and brought it back looking as it should no other problems were found... I spoke to the manager about my problem and this is what he said.. about the multiple issues above and the whole overall issue - "When it comes to the Progressive onsite employee he travels from one location to another and when we needed him he was also on vacation so it took longer so your time frame went from 2 weeks till were we are at right now which is a little over 1 month" - "We normally always contact our customers with updates, what I assume is your option wasn't marked with updates from Progressive only your out of pocket payment was marked in our system to contact you with updates, we normally always contact not sure what happened" - "The car was taken to our calibration shop which was out on 20 mile and something, the guys house is off of 11 and Gratiot they needed to ride the car so it can reset the sensors you have a lot" - "The residue on the trunk I'm unsure what that was, the scratches I'm not pointing fingers on who did this and I'm not calling my techs out." (This issue I went back and forth with him because he was blaming me for this that the issue came in like this, I told him you can check your photos and mine the scratches were not there at time of drop off.. after this he kept quiet) When asked with all my troubles and issues and lies I was give what can you guys do.... He came back with $50 off my bill for my troubles.... I said from the great reviews and the word of mouth on the place you cannot do anything better "Haha what you want me to do here I'm giving you money off". The next day I called to schedule the pickup he stated he knocked another $60 off (I assume he looked at the damage on my car and saw I wasn't the one) I will NEVER recommend or even offer anything to anyone that is in need of repair to go to this place. If you're not in a rush have zero interest in customer service, want to be blamed for you doing the damage after you pick it up in the parking lot the by all means go here... I should have stuck with Gerber Glass and Collusion!! read more

After Butlers collision repaired my van, I am still getting more problems from this place. from work they did which is not what the insurance company paid for. They are basically scammers and liars and not capable of doing the work that they got paid to do. After talking to many people about Butlers, it's not uncommon to find that they did shab work for many people that got taken by them. TO shut me up after ruining my van the owner gave me a restaurant gift certificate to shut me up after ruining a $50,000 handicapted van Here I am after calling them about rust coming up under paint in a little under a year after repairs. These people have no remorse screwing over their customers. Painting over moldings, painting over car parts that were not supposed to be painted over.Many people have told me they had similar problems with them. FUnny thing is they still are there with the doors open. I'm just waiting for the person to take them out for what they do to people. I won't go back to have them fix the multiple problems they are supposed to fix because they won't fix them. They will run all the gas out of the car and keep it for days every time making you not want to go back for repairs that they already got paid for. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF GOING TO THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. I A HAVE NOW OBTAINED A LAWYER WHICH I AM PROCEEDING NOW WITH LEGAL ACTION. MAYBE THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS. I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THEY OWN UP AND FIX WHAT THEY GOT PAID FOR TO DO THE WORK. I brought my vehicle here for front and side repair work after reading the good reviews of this place. I brought my car in for the estimate and that went well. Coming from an automotive background, my initial thoughts were "this place seems nice". The owner told me that he'd contact me later that week; once my parts came in. A week and a half later I called and he said that my parts came in earlier in the week and that I can bring my car in. Brought my car in and the owner's son was helpful in getting me to the rental place. I received no updates as to the progress of the repair. I called a week later to have them tell me "it's with the painter, so we don't know." I get a call a couple of days later saying that my vehicle is ready for pickup. I show to pick up my car the following day due to work. I signed the release papers. I was given no walk through of the repairs on paper. I was given no walk through/around my vehicle. I ended up doing all of that myself. While reviewing the repair invoice at the reception desk, I asked if I owe anything (we had agreed that I pay a little out of pocket for some extra work to be done on the front bumper). The receptionist looks at my invoice and says "at least you're honest!" - what's that suppose to mean?! Ignoring that comment, I paid for the extra work. First thing I noticed when inspecting my vehicle was that they painted the smart key door handle button - which should have not been painted. I quick scan the repaired side of the car and I immediately see tool marks on the door pillar where they pried the molding off. Looking down the door, one can see that they didn't care too much about the edges - paint drips and tape edging. Upon further inspection one can see that the fit and finish between the front bumper and fender were off. My side mirror was not assembled all the way. I ended up doing that by myself in their lot. There were more tool marks around the fender as well. Walking around the front end, there were more shoddy paint work around the edges as well as poor fit and finish. Opened the driver door and noticed that the moldings were not pushed in all the way. I ended up adjusting those myself. Closed the door and something sounded loose. I checked to make sure that all of the switches on the driver door worked. All the switches worked. I checked again by opening my door. I noticed that the door ajar light did not come on. Upon further investigation I found that the door ajar switch was not connected and was only placed in the socket. I was annoyed but I kept my calm. I walked back in and one could see that the owner and receptionist were irritated. No one asked me if there was an issue that I needed addressed. I stood there for a couple minutes looking at the receptionist. He finally motioned to the owner to help me. I politely asked them reconnect the door ajar switch for me. While he looked at that I noticed that one of the factory plastic panel clips on my door were replaced with a peel and stick cover. I wasn't too happy with that but I didn't say anything. They brought my car around back and once that was done I quick walked around the car again and then drove off. As soon as I left the lot, I noticed a lot of wind noise coming from the top corner of the driver door. I turned around and brought it right back. The owner's son came out and I told him my concerns. He quick glanced and noticed the poor fit on the corner as well as the poor molding replacement. He took it out and drove it around and brought it back for more adjustment work. I was annoyed but went in calm and with a smile and sat in their waiting area. One could clearly see that the receptionist and owner were annoyed. No one spoke a word to me. No apologies given. Nothing. About 30 minutes later the son brought my car around and handed me my keys. He quick told me that the moldings were adjusted. Still, no apologies given. I drove off the lot. Once the speedometer hits 45, one can still hear the wind noise. I'll probably end up adjusting the moldings myself. Got home and noticed that some inside panels were poorly fitted as well. I'll also adjust those myself. I'm so glad that I didn't pay for the repair work. So if you're looking for a body shop to take your vehicle, go else where or do it yourself. I, for sure will not be coming back or referring anyone to this place. read more

Sorry to say that I have had to use them twice. Once for my wife's Honda that needed a lot of work. They were fast and did it well! Helped with my car rental. My second time was a small dent and they fixed it that day. Took me to work and picked me up to return me. It was great work at great price! Also very friendly. read more

My car was hit while parked. Rear quarter and door completely crunched. I almost ended up at a Chevy dealer (my car is a Chevy) but they frustrated me by not calling back on the phone when they said they would. So I read reviews about Butler and became impressed. I took the car there based on internet reviews. WOW! I am so happy and my wife is too! They matched the color perfect. Replaced the door perfectly and quarter panel. No road rattles anywhere. They did an awesome job! Back to my color. My car is an 2008 Gold color. Kind of difficult to match I thought....not for these guys! They re-did the pin striping perfect as well, just like the other side that was not hit. Jim, the manager was very nice and honest. I met the owner to and he equally was nice and honest to me. Made me feel good and I needed that. My stomach was a mess because I only had 3 car payments left when this car was hit while parked and I was pretty upset. They made me relax after discussing what they could do to get my car back to how it was. Soooooo. They talked first and then did what they talked about down to the last detail. What a welcome surprise in todays world of body shops:):):) I will be talking about them to family, neighbors, friends, strangers and anyone else for years to come. I brought in a 10 year old car with a scratched side (front to back door) and knocked off passenger side mirror. All the electricity in the mirror was intact. Jim looked at the damage and gave me the cheapest options. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars to replace/repaint/install a new mirror, he had it screwed in. He also had the scratched cleaned up. It looked great! The best part. The wait took less than 20 minutes and was all free of charge. I think they had mercy on me and my banged up old car. Brought my car here as it is a AAA repair shop. Lower bumper damage. When I went to pick up the car the bumper did not fit properly because it was an after market part. AAA authorized them to replace with an original part however that cost more of my time and trouble. They had to notice that the bumper did not fit properly but hoped to pass it off. Now the paint is splintering off in sheets - they looked at it and said it has nothing to do with them that I must have hit something, I did not hit anything - there is no dent or point of contact - they just don't want to stand by their work !! read more
