The environment is great with plenty of seating options. There are communal tables in front, individual tables in back, and many bar seating options along the walls with outlets. There are even outdoor seats to enjoy that great Mt. Vernon atmosphere. The service was great with many friendly faces. Wifi is on point. The menu is American and Asian fusion. There is a wide variety of options ranging from coffee, omelettes, burritos, rice bowls, ramen, and burgers. So if you can't find something that entices you--what's up?! I wanted to try everything but ended up getting the Korean-miso pork ramyun. If you're hunting for the best ramen of the land, this isn't the place you're looking for, but it is satisfying. The portions are more than adequate and they are generous with the tasty pork belly. The broth and noodles are standard, but it was still a good meal. I'd love to try more of the menu. Lovely, clean new space complete with trendy light fixtures, wooden plates and decor, and comfy sofa-tables. Really enjoyed popping into this new lil place - it has a great menu (though a tad pricey) with quality ingredients! I wasn't a big fan of the coffee (just the regular drip), but the tomato soup was excellent and the gruyere mushroom sandwich was savory and yet light. The salad dressing was PERFECT and although I'm not a salad gal, I think adding a salad to the menu with that base would be looooooovely. Overall, a fabulous lil spot with tons of promise! The food is decidedly average. We ordered the Dooby Burger with a side of quinoa salad and a Spicy Gochujang Ramen for dinner on a Friday night. Everything looked great but tasted way too salty. This new coffee cafe is located in the hatch around the corner from it's eventual location on charles that will open in a month or two. It's definitely got the atmosphere down with a relaxed cool vibe. The menu also strives to be innovative and you can easily tell this place is aiming to be original and high quality. black iced tea - did the job but was nothing special for me. avocado spread on toast - once in a while you come eat something that blindsides you with a blend of surprise and tastiness. This is one of them. Absolutely amazing. A huge mound of avocado on toast with chili flakes sprinkled on top. It all worked wonderfully together. wow. First time in Dooby's and I am totally diggin' the ambiance, music, and location. They did a fantastic job with the interior design, a fusion of contemporary glass, cherry wood, and clean white surfaces contrast with the brick and marble of historic Baltimore. While their coffee is mediocre, I actually don't mind ~ hehehe ~ cuz the playlist and sound system are more of a priority for me. Very chill and modern and groovy. I'm sitting in the sunny window with a cup of coffee, and just had the egg and cheese on a French roll ~ to my delight the bread was textured and chewy like ciabatta, filled with fluffy egg, melted cheese (the real kind ~ not fakey queso kind), and a healthy handful of arugula. What a great find. Searching for a cool neighborhood joint after a visit to the Walters Art Museum. Awesome place. Menu is simple yet intriguing. We both had make your own bowls. Very cozy cafe in mount vernon that's great for studying if you like low/medium noise levels. It was never too crowded, and there are long tables with comfy stools and outlets that are great for studying with larger groups! As for food and drinks, I ordered the matcha latte with vanilla syrup, and the pork belly bowl, both of which were delicious. My only complaint would be that it was extremely warm inside -- I changed into a tank top and I was still sweating (mind you it was snowing today). Finally made it to Dooby's, and it was worth the wait! Dooby's is a very laid back café with a hipster vibe that specializes in Korean dishes. When you walk in, you pick up a menu, order at the register, and then pick a spot to eat. There was a good amount of people hanging out, working on their laptops, or even just relaxing reading the paper. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to order as ever thing sounded so good, but I ended up with a Chai Latte ($4.50) and Spicy Korean Street-Style Noodles ( $13.00) with Roasted Chicken ( for the meat you can choose between Roasted Chicken, Pork Belly, Korean BBQ Steak, or Marinated Tofu). My Chai Latte came out first, and let me just say, hands down, best Chai Latte I've had. It was so creamy and sweet & spicy. I loved it, I loved everything about it! Next to come out was the Spicy Korean Street-Style Noodles which consist of vegetables, rice cakes, Sapporo Noodles and Roasted Chicken. As I was chowing down, I noticed there were so many different flavors and textures, but everything meshed really well together. The spice was perfect, just enough to slightly burn and make your nose run a little, but nothing crazy or drastic. And the Roasted Chicken was so moist and tender. Overall, great meal. You can laugh at the name all you want, but Dooby's brunch is no laughing matter - we came here this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our steak and egg sandwich, our pork buns, and the pork belly Benedict. Sitting in the shadow of the Washington monument, we were surprised that a Benedict would be honored on the menu, but there was no treason in sight - the eggs were delicious, and the pork belly got in our bellies quite satisfactorily. And of course, no English muffins were to be found - this is America! Washington and his monument BEAT the English! So instead, the eggs came on Asian-inspired buns. Patriotic! The pork buns were also enough for a meal. The pork was great and my wife decided that the buns were about 70% of her mom's own home cooking, which is extremely high praise. (Important note: my wife is Asian and therefore an expert). It had the right amount of spiciness and the amount of cheese and egg were very proportional -- I've tried many breakfast sandwiches that were not very proportional but Dooby's did it right! (1/6/2014) Stopped in to grab a sandwich based on some friends' recommendations (it's their local meeting spot for coffee). Breakfast can be hit or miss, but the sandwiches seem pretty solid. Got the Pork Belly Banh Mi, a very tasty sandwich, but by no means is it a banh mi. The pork slices were moist and fatty (in a good way) with a caramelized flavor; shredded carrot, jalapeno, and purple cabbage were crunchy, lots of cilantro and sriracha mayo; baguette was good and chewy with a significant crust, very good (but not right for banh mi at all). Place was buzzing with patrons when I stopped in around 11 am on a Monday; some to stay and some to go. They looked laptop-friendly, bar seating lined with many outlets and faced against the wall, so you can stare at the screen and not have to interact with any other human beings. Let me preface this by saying that I've only had the cappuccino from here :) Before you stop reading, if they put the amount of attention they did in making the cappuccino in the other items, those too would be this good. (I assume) I will try next time. So, getting back to my coffee! I normally order it with a squirt of simple syrup and ask for it to be extra hot. Very rarely is it ever extra hot. Due to covid, Dobbys started exclusively taking orders from their site. So when you show up, you simply say your name and get your item (s). As I went to place the order for the cappuccino from the their site, they had options for sweetness! Light sweet being one of the options. And they had another option for temperature!!!! Extra hot being one of the options!!!! The other options were warm etc. But they had extra hot!!! I placed the order order while I was about 20 mins away. I was fully anticipating receiving a warm cup of coffee since they probably made it and due to be arriving late, it was no longer hot. Nope! That wasn't the case. I get there, and the lady said let me make it now!!! A few mins later, the perfect cup of cappuccino, slightly sweet and extra hot. And yes, it tasted amazing!!! read more

This coffeeshop is very cute. It's got an excellent mix of sit-down tables for a longer breakfast or lunch, and long hightops for the classic coffeeshop feel. I got a really delicious Morning Glory muffin, which tasted like carrot cake. Service was fast and efficient, and it was a cool place to sit and read for about a half hour while I ate the muffin and had an espresso. Detractors: the espresso itself was really not very good. Additionally, it should be noted that it's VERY loud there. I was able to tune out to read, but it's not the place to go for deep concentration. That said, the people watching is likely to be excellent there, there's some nice outdoor seating, and the location is immediately next to Mt Vernon park, which makes for a lovely stroll afterwards. I visited during the height of finals season and was surprised at seeing so many laptops and books in the space, yet the menu seemed far more developed than your typical coffee shop. The environment was very conducive for studying, reading, meeting with friends/coworkers, or just eating a meal alone! I ordered the bowl with marinated tofu. Although it was all very good, I felt like there wasn't very much preparation that went into the bowl, besides a phenomenal presentation. The ingredients were not mixed and it seemed like something I easily could have made at home. The spices used in the bowl were well combined but the tofu had not absorbed very many of the flavors and so tasted bland. The price was a bit high for what it was, but nothing too crazy ($12-$14). I would definitely recommend Dooby's for their space and for a quick snack or a latte, but perhaps not for the marinated tofu. read more

Cafe has a back area and plenty of high seats for working. I've been here on numerous occasions but only could stay for about 30 minutes or so. I like the Korean concept. I tried their Pork Belly Eggs Benedict ... it was tasty. The Pork Belly was the added flavor ... very fatty ... but good ... full of flavor. On my next visit ... I will try the Pork Buns. As many times that I have hung out in Mt. Vernon I have never payed attention to Dooby's. I am so happy that I went to the Yelp event. It was a nice location. Nice quaint place. I loved the atmosphere. I tried the Boozy coffee it was really good, and had a kick to it. I loved everything! I also enjoyed the fish house punch!! DELICIOUS! I'm SO glad I attended my first Yelp Elite event here! We sampled the banh mi back then and Dooby's has really become my go-to place for lunch, and in particular that banh mi sandwich, ever since! I love the fattiness of the pork belly and how it's perfectly balanced with the french bread. I even love the side salad they give you because it adds those perfect pops of acidity to cut the fat. I love the beautiful interior and just the overall vibe of the entire establishment. I've recommended Dooby's several times and all of my friends have loved it. Had Spicy pork ramen. Noodles are good. Soup tastes a little bit sauty but maybe you will like it if you tend to be on the heavier-taste side. The only thing I would have a little complain is, although the pork slices are thick which is good, but they are too overly fat. Five-sixths of the meat is fat I would say. Sorry I'm being a little picky, but for my personal taste, lean and fat taste the best with 1:1 or 1.5:1 in Ramen. If you like fat meat then go ahead. read more

Stopped here one night with friends for a meeting. Fell in love with the place as soon as I stepped inside! The back wall was decorated with leaves that were very Pinterest/Instagram worthy. Everything on the menu looked delicious. I got a latte that night and the latte art was so cute I didn't want to drink it! The noodles we got were delicious as well. I loved the small rice cake bits in the spicy korean style street noodles, definitely made the entire meal! I was eyeing their fruity pebbles donut the entire time I was there, so I will definitely have to return to get it in the near future. Went back to try their coffee and baked goods. They have a huge selection and can customize drinks. Love how they have almond milk, especially because most coffee shops only offer soy milk as an alternative to dairy. Barista put a pretty design on my latte too! Had their sticky bun and it is amazing! Came out nice and warm, and was perfectly prepared! Not overly sweet! And the pecans on top made is a nice touch. I still don't know how I feel about Dooby's. Running by it in the months before it was about to open, I was extremely excited to frequent this place which boasted itself as a coffeehouse by day and restaurant by night. A few problems with that is that even though they do serve as a coffeehouse during the day, seats are not comfortable enough to really lounge effectively and the internet is slow, unavailable most of the time and therefore doesn't even rival the nearby Bun Shop and Starbucks just up the street. Having said that their dinner cocktails are unique and amazing (albeit expensive). Their dinner is awesome, I would strongly suggest the Pork Ramen and Pork Buns. They don't switch the menu as often as they used to, which I think would benefit. After dinner drinks are also not as great as their dinner drinks. Overall, this is definitely a place I would go to for a good dinner, once in a while. read more

Nice spot. Pretty quiet and laid back atmosphere. The stools they jave ij the main area can get a little uncomfortable though. The coffee they serve is from passenger coffee in Lancaster PA which is pretty good although I wish I had another option other than drip brewed. They also have other coffee drinks along with cocktails and draft beers. The food we had was very good. We had the pork buns which were very tasty and good portion. The avacado toast had more avacado than bread it seemed. The topping was good but the bread was a bit too hard for my liking. I also had the spicy pork ramen which I really liked. It wasn't spicy but it had good flavor and had a great amount of pork. The food came out very quickly too and you can see into the kitchen which is nice. read more

I ordered their Miso Caramel Latte and it was delicious, and my husband ordered a regular latte and he loved his. We went for breakfast and I got the Pork Belly Eggs Benedict. The title should speak for itself, but seriously, it was amazing. Not to mention their house ketchup on the side, I could put that on cardboard. My husband got the Hangover Bowl (noodles for breakfast...genius!) and it was outstanding! The broth was spicy in the best way and I don't think we've had a more perfectly cooked noodle. I stopped in Dooby's recently for a quick drink to go. I ordered the orange blossom mocha--which was as delicious as it sounds. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was for pricing. With soy milk, my mocha was almost $7. I am definitely one that will pay for quality, but $7 for a small drink just felt a little unnecessary. Aside from the price, my drink tasted great and I was able to place and pick up my order in a reasonable amount of time. I wasn't in there for long but I really liked the ambiance.
