Jenny is the best! I was looking for customized donuts for my niece's 1st birthday and came across Donut Tree. Their customized letters are a lot nicer than other donut places I've seen. Their letters are very clean and legible. I ordered 50 letter "C"s which came out very nice (C for Charlotte). I was worried it would look like a "U" but you can definitely see the detail in their letters. Donuts were also fresh. This place is popular and you might have to wait but it goes by fast. There was a line before and after I picked up my order. I also like that their front door is for entrance only and their back door is for exit. Thank you for the COVID precautions. First time and I really felt rushed, like walking down an assembly line and not enough time to view all the donut options. There's a very narrow aisle for the customers and the floors in this area were dirty and had spilled coffee (slipping hazard). Took a long time to process my credit card, and then when I got to my car, the woman who helped me came running out saying that it didn't go through. So back inside I went for another long wait to process the card. The woman in front of me had just as long a wait, so it must have been their machine. I can't attest to the price point or service of the in-store experience, so this review is just about the quality of the donuts themselves. And they were so good! Since it's just me and my husband, we had 2 each day. I picked up ube, strawberry, and green tea flavors. After trying these three flavors, I am not a fan. The glaze on them are like regular donuts (not creamy but cracks and crusts off when you bite into them). It's overly sweet, and I can't really distinguish the flavors of each donut, the green tea glaze just tastes like sugar with a hint of green tea and the ube glaze just tastes like sugar but colored purple. The texture of the mochi donut itself is really dense and not my favorite. I would recommend coming to Donut Tree for their regular donuts and skip the mochi ones. read more

Donut tree is a local staple in our Walnut community so I had to give a try to the mochi donuts when they finally arrived. In comparison to other mochi doughnut locations pricing is about the same which is $2.50 each. So kind of pricey for this new trend. They had some pretty interesting flavors like the pandan and black sesame that I tried. Flavors were tasty, however the donut self was not as chilly as other mochi donuts I've tried were. So the mochi donuts at this location are more American donut texture rather than mochi. It was something interesting to try since there aren't many locations near Walnut California. I go inside to the store about 10 minutes later, I find out yes, I was overcharged. I was overcharged $5.30. And the response i got, Just wasn't right to try to down play the situation I'm told the lady that helped me was new, only there for about 2 hours, a few days a week. That only makes me think she's been overcharging other people then. The donuts are okay, but after this incident I'll no longer be going back. She even kept .10 from my would be change back.. This is by far my favorite donut spot! As simple as this donut shop may be, it has everything I want, BOTH times that I've visited! I have purchased the dozen donuts both times because why not?! It is priced at $9.99 for a dozen (except fancies), and if you choose to get more than a dozen, each regular donut will be $0.25 per donut, and each fancy will be $0.80 per donut. The staff here is always welcoming and always greets me with a huge smile! Both times I've visited, the staff acknowledges their usual, returning customers and that just warms my heart! There are countless donut establishments at every corner. Multiple ones I've visited were filthy with flies inside the donut displays (so gross!), and most I've visited weren't as fresh as Donut Tree's. I am pretty shocked their blueberry donuts were just as good as M & M's all the way in Anaheim! I cannot believe I've driven all the way there, as well as waited multiple hours just for those donuts, when I can just grab them right here! Also, one of the most important deal breakers for me is that most places will run out of a certain flavor. It's located in the Vons parking lot so there's plenty of parking and the people who were there are always quick but friendly. I've been coming here for years and it's a solid standby for when I have to satisfy my sweet tooth. They have this chocolate doughnut that's filled with chocolate and has chocolate chips on top that I really like. It is very rich, so it's good for a cheat day. They also have a humongous ham and cheese croissant that's generously filled with jalapeños (a plus in my book). Literally each bite of the croissant had a jalapeño! I would recommend toasting it rather than microwaving it if you're eating it the next day though.
