The cozy atmosphere is one of the things that brings us back again and again. If I had one bad thing to say it's that parking can be tricky if they're busy. With their limited hours, it can fill up. Ambiance: this is a relatively new place, so it's clean and sleek on the inside and the seating is well spaced.

The toast was a little over done but who cares. I'm sure they would have remade it if asked. She also tried the red velvet waffle with cream cheese as a topping. The waffle was perfect but the scoop of plain cream cheese was a little off putting. I think a little cream cheese frosting would have gone better. But it was eaten up. Stopped in to pick up a dozen at a coworker's request. Stayed for a breakfast sandwich and a donut and coffee. SO very good! I think the best donut I have ever had- light, can you call donut dough fluffy?, fried to a golden brown, filled with delicious jelly and rolled in sugar. I am salivating right now thinking about that donut. Egg and cheese on a roll, hot, freshly made, tasty. Busy little place, quick and friendly service, and the prices cannot be beat. read more

I travel from Natick to get great coffee and breakfast at the Donut Star. It's a relatively short trip down the Mass Pike. I have discovered that several of the patrons have had perfect attendance at the Donut Star for the past 26 years. That's seven days a week, 365 days a year, for 26 flippin years. This is our family Sunday Breakfast spot. Love the breakfast sandwiches and my 4 year old is a super fan of the chocolate chip pancakes with bacon on the side. The staff is always really nice. I picked up a dozen today and we were all so very disappointed. Every filled donut had 25% (or less) of the filling they've had prior. You would have to bite way into the donut to finally reach the filling and after taking two bites the filling was gone. This conclusion was unanimous by the way. In the past, when you would bite into a filled donut, the filling would ooze out, and every bite would be have more than adequate filling, and now we could barely find any. When I told this to a friend, she told me they had stopped purchasing Dippin Donuts at least from that location for the very same reason. I don't know if it is just this location or if it is across the board at all locations, but it is undeniably obvious when you bite into a doughnut now from the Leicester location that it has greatly changed. I don't where those directions to change the recipe so drastically came from, but unless you go back to making your donuts the way you always have in the past, we definitely will not be buying donuts from there again and wouldn't recommend it. Did you change the recipe and/or also decide to cut way way back on the filling for a reason? I'm sorry to not give a good review, but these donuts were skimpier than Dunkin's and I hope enough people state the same that you will remedy this. Thank you.
