I was looking on Yelp and realized I'd never tried Donut King. So what the heck. My wife and I drove over there and even though you can't see the selection inside, when we asked the clerk about what donuts were available,the selection was amazing On top of that, the donuts were delicious. Much fresher than what we've been getting at Rainbow. We've decided the Donut King is going to be our donut place of choice from this day forward. I'm so glad we decided to branch out and try something new. I recommend DONUT King to anybody in the area. The clerk working the night shift was really helpful and pleasant. He even added a couple of freebies since they had run out of one of our choices. It's probably because it was late and a bit slow but he didn't have to do that and he just made a new return customer so props to him. Prices are very reasonable anyway. No gouging here. The area is a little dark and quiet after 9pm so you'd probably be better off doing the drive thru than standing at the window. It seemed like there was adequate parking in back if you're there during the day. We can hardly wait to return and try some different donut than what we ordered that night. CA locations, opening in Torrance a couple of years ago. OFD's donuts are popular for its rich creams & chewy dough; Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée are just 2 of their signature flavors. I was going through a donut phase when I initially stopped by Old Ferry Donut. Large windows let lots of light in, & once you step across the threshold, you're hit with a strong K-pop vibe & loud music. They even had a collab with SEVENTEEN last fall during their tour with 2 flavors: Marble Strawberry & Blue Coconut! Unlike the regular mom & pop's or commercialized donut shops, they don't offer a discounted 1/2 or full dozen box. After asking what's their most popular picks, I chose Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée, & added Lemon Poppyseed & Raspberry Ring for myself, Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream for the kiddos. I didn't need a sales pitch, but would like some info on the donuts to make an informed decision since they're at a premium price even though they're not "freshly made" (every hour or less) like SD&C just down the street.
