This place deserves 10 stars. I am a connoisseur of glazed sour cream donuts. I have always loved them...and will never eat one again without comparing it to Donut Kraze's rendition. Definitely better than Paula's, as blasphemous as that may sound. These are old fashioned, homemade donuts that make Tim Horton's donuts look like a joke. There's just something about the texture of these donuts that no other place can compare to. A slight crisp when you bite into it....so freakin delicious. Ive tried several kinds, but keep coming back to the glazed sour cream and the honey-dipped chocolate. They have a small lunch menu...i havent been able to move past the donut selection yet though but perhaps i will one day try the beef sandwich... Servers are great...and if you catch the right one at the right time, she may just sneak an extra donut in your box for you :) They've been in existance for only three years (and it appears they just completed a remodel---used to be a Dickies, maybe they should open a 2nd location in the other vacant Dickies in NORTH Buff...?) Found this little donut shop a month or two ago while visiting the excellent Chinese joint (Peking Quick One) next door. They have a really great selection of donuts. They aren't as sickeningly sweet and overfilled like Paula's but that's fine by me. The maple bacon is great with cream filling, maple icing, and crispy bacon on top. My boyfriend liked the peanut butter and jelly, which is jelly filled with a peanut butter flavoured glazed and crushed peanuts on top. The lemon meringue is also very nice combining lemon custard and a bit of cream in the filling. Cherry, blueberry, and chocolate cake donuts were very tasty too. We tried too many honestly and nothing was disappointing. To top it all off this place is open 24 hours all week. It's a dangerously delicious place to know about. This place is great! I work around here and this is my favorite place for a donut or a bagel. They have a little drive through which makes it convenient to swing by, and the staff is so sweet. The ladies that work there are incredibly helpful. I wanted to get the PB & J doughnut for my boyfriend but they sold out, I said " I can stop back tomorrow morning" but they insisted on making one for him because they had the peanut shell, just had to put the filling in. I'm glad they offered , he said it was delicious. We will definitely be back. I have to say we're pretty fortunate to have such amazing donuts in this area. We have DiCamillo's, Paula's donuts and now the newest to my list Donut Kraze. I sampled... I mean devoured the PB&J, cream cheese, peanut with cream, peach cobbler, sour cream and bacon maple; they were all perfect. For me where I think Donut Kraze has managed to edge past their competitors is portion. The size is right where it needs to be, but more importantly the donut to filling ratio is perfect. Some places worry so much about making their donuts bigger or filling the donuts to the point the a gentle poke could make them explode. Deep fried doughy perfection has a home, that home is here. My aunt LOVES peanut sticks but can't seem to find them anywhere near where she lives in Rochester. Since I was heading up there for a family party, I decided to pick up a dozen. I didn't want to risk their being out of them, so I ordered a day ahead. The woman on the phone couldn't have been friendlier! My order was ready right on time, and the girl behind the counter was really nice as well. (Maybe everybody here just operates on a continuous sugar high.) I don't really eat donuts anymore, so I was mildly shocked that they were $11.49 a dozen. But the reaction when I arrived at the party with my box o' goodies was well worth it. And to all you staunch defenders of Paula's, I've purchased her peanut sticks, and those are not peanut STICKS, they're peanut TREE TRUNKS. Seems to me that throws off the ratio of cake to coating. Ordered donuts here two straight days for work. Their selection is very good and the prices were reasonable. I tried the cherry donut for myself and wish I had gotten more! It had great taste and I believe tiny bits of cherries in the batter. Everyone else that had donuts said they were excellent as well. If you like Paula's Donuts you MUST try Donut Kraze. This is where Paula's got their recipe - and just made their donuts larger. Donut Kraze is better because the donuts are normal sized and it's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's a great shop right off of the highway - super convenient. You can sit and hang out for hours at any time of day. I love this place. Even at 10 pm on a Monday, they had about 12 different kinds of donuts ready to order, nice and fresh! I feel like Donut Kraze sneaks under the radar when it comes to donuts. The majority of the clientele are people from the surrounding neighborhoods, and the occasional passerby. Located right on Dingens St off the 190, it's a place you'd probably overlook very easily. Inside, it is clear they recently remodeled, because it was very nice! The worker was very friendly. We had stumbled in around 8-9pm for some dessert. They were surprisingly well stocked for that time of day. I was leaning toward the blueberry streusel, but then I saw a maple bacon donut and I had to get it. The rest of my party and I were very pleased. My maple bacon donut (something you have to special order in advance to get at Paula's) was sweet and salty and delicious! The donuts are all homemade and it shows. I found the selection to be very good and interesting. I can't wait to come back and get a dozen to spread the Donut Kraze love. This place serves my favorite donuts in Buffalo. You will not be disappointed in the peanut donut or the enormous apple fritter.

The donuts are good. My issue is with the descriptions. I ordered an assortment of six, no great shakes, and one was tagged as a peach cobbler. The peach cobbler donut came LADEN with peanuts in it's frosting. I have no allergy issues with this particular legume however I just don't like them. I make cobblers and buckles and such and I do not recall p-nuts as being integral to the final product. Whatever. Donuts are tasty and decent sized. Larger than Timmy's. We rolled in here very late at night after taking my friends on a long tour of Buffalo breweries. We had been to a nice, enormously filling dinner, and we wanted a bit of something sweet, but nothing gigantic. One of my friends was staying downtown, so Donut Kraze was on our way. It's located in a really nice spot, just off of the 190. It's small and unassuming, your basic, no-frills donut shop. It's got a great selection, even for late at night. One of my friends got a raspberry turnover, I got a Bavarian cream, and Lee got a glazed. They were all very tasty and filling, hitting just the right balance of sweet and fatty pastry. This place was conveniently located across the street from my hotel. Very unassuming in appearance but don't let that stop you from swinging by and grabbing a few donuts and coffee. Donut purists will appreciate the staples while people a bit more adventurous would probably enjoy the maple bacon or peanut cream. I chose the latter with an iced coffee and it was delicious. But I have experienced the world's best (or at least I believe it to be) donuts at Paula's so I was less than pleased when I tried Donut Kraze's selection. I tried a peanut butter donut, which was soggy in the middle. If you have read any of my reviews you will know that this is my least favorite characteristic in food! Just tried Donut Kraze today and am a newly found fan of these fresh, soft and delicious treats! I was disappointed in my last visit to Paula's where my doughnuts were hard and slightly stale. Not a big fan of doughnuts anyway so I was about to give up until I tried these. For that occasional treat, give them a shot. Can't say that I got a warm and fuzzy feeling when entering, but that's not why I visit doughnut shops- it's the taste that matters which was great. Tried the regular creme, Cinnamon and honeydip and they are better than most shops around town, soft and fresh. Not a fan of the Sour Creme ones though the Strawberry Creme was tasty! Will be interested to see how they hold up overnight (if they last that long!) read more

I liked them but they were short staffed with a rude unsmiling tattooed up girl working there. I am not judging because I have ink myself but that's the best way to describe her. When we first walked in there were a bunch of old guys gossiping and there wasn't anyone behind the register. We looked at the large selection of donuts and made our minds up then waited about 4 minutes for her to come scowling out of the back room and help us. I assumed maybe she was having a bad day so I tipped her $2 and she just said "thanks" Like blah and walked away still no smile or eye contact. That really took away from the experience. We got 6 donuts and a cheese Danish. So far we have only eaten the Danish and a chocolate cream donut. The donut had very little chocolate frosting so it was kind of dry but the homemade flavor and cream were great. The Danish was good but not as sweet as we thought it would be. I'll give this place another chance next time I'm craving a donut and passing through I just hope I get another staff member . read more

Came here one morning before work, i expected there to be a lot of people but it was completely dead with only two other cars in the parking lot. there was an older couple sitting down having coffee and food already when i walked in and there was no one in line. Huge selection of donuts and they fry them day long which is great! I'm usually a yeasted donut person so the first couple of times here, I was a tiny bit disappointed. Their yeasted donuts are a little crumblier than I like it and does not have a chew. They are delicate especially if they've been sitting out for a little while. So I decided to try some of their other offerings. Cinnamon rolls, eclaires (which is gigantic by the way), fritters, and fastnachts. These are all pretty good! I brought a dozen fastnachts to share with people and they were a huge hit. People literally balked at me when I said they weren't Paula's. Like they didn't believe me. Haha. They're also somehow a little chewier than their donuts which gets a thumbs up from me. My favorite here though is definitely the sour cream donut. Like whoa!!! So good. The outside is still crispy from being fresh and the inside is so soft and creamy! Awesome! I'll skip the yeasted and go straight to their specialty and cake donuts. Yum yum! read more
