Huh uh!! Hells to the no!!! Stopped in here and got a breakfast taco (they're pre made). Got to work through it in the microwave( it was wrapped in cell-o-fane), unwrapped and took a big bite. I bit into a hair that was at least 10 inches long! Yes that's right I had someones hair in my mouth!! Never again!!!! I guess I could have used the hair to floss with. read more

Went in for the first time last Monday morning. I live close by and have always wanted to try them. I asked the girl if I could buy a donut hole to see if I liked them. She seemed so put off by that. She had a total attitude and was one of the most unfriendly people I've ever met. Whatever happened to "customer service". I started to try to decide what dozen donuts I wanted but she acted so impatient that I just ended up leaving. The donut hole I had was good...not great. There's a LOT of better and friendlier places I'd rather give my money to. read more

Popped in one morning, in a rush, and didn't have a chance to confer with Yelp beforehand. Had I seen these reviews I would have purchased more, and promptly eaten them all! Instead, I got a cherry filled, a chocolate filled, and a bag of donut holes. When I got to the office and everyone started "mmmm"-ing and "omg"-ing, only then did I realize I should have checked Yelp first and quadrupled my purchase. I've never had a donut so packed with jelly filling. Every delicious donut bite had a huge, generous portion of filling. The exterior is soft yet crisp, oh dear, I'm salivating just thinking of it again. We noshed on the donut holes all day (they're like $1.30/bag!) and they stayed soft and delicious all day. Hands down, the best donut I've had in Central TX. Do yourself a favor and stop here! read more

I like to bribe my coworkers with donuts from Donut Crown. Yesterday I offered one to a customer as he was leaving the store. He called me an hour later just to tell me it was the best donut he's ever had. If you ever need to ask a favor of anyone, take them some glazed donuts from this place. They'll be so consumed by the throes of donut ecstasy they'll say yes to anything. read more

This place opens EARLY. I'm not even sure how early, but a few times I'd have to lead a conference call at 7:00 am, and I'd bring a dozen donuts in myself and coworkers. I couldn't get out of bed without promising myself a Boston Creme pre-work. The donuts are delicious and they will always get there before you, promise. read more

I am absolutely thrilled to have finally found my perfect donut spot in Austin. Everything is amazing and the staff is so sweet.

Meh...the donut holes were crummy and I feel like we spent more here than our donut shop down south.

My husband and I were a little iffy on trying Donut Crown. We've tried more than a few donut places here Austin and we just weren't excited. Our experience has been either the donuts taste good the first couple times before the quality goes down or they just don't taste good at all. So I decided to trust Yelp again and take a chance on Donut Crown. Best donuts we've had in Austin so far! We went late so there wasn't a lot to choose from but what we did get was delish! Instead of just a ton sugar to cover up bland tasting dough, we could taste flavor throughout the donut. We'll be back (earlier this time) to make sure it wasn't a fluke. read more

Delicious! Got an old fashion, a sausage, cheese, and jalapeno kolache, a boudain kolache, and a bag of donut holes with my partner. Everything was so tasty and we are looking forward to coming back!! read more

Gosh, this is the ideal stop-and-go breakfast place for anyone on their way to work. I have sometimes been in and out in less than a minute. Here's some things I like: 1) Very fast service. There's only two gals who work there who are never distracted or chatting, always very quick, and are extremely polite. 2) The donuts are AWESOME. Remember when you first had a Krispy Kreme and you thought "man, that is the SHIT?" Had a Krispy Kreme lately? Yeah, then you know what I mean. Donut Crown donuts are the really thing-- light, crispy, melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I recommend the buttermilk cakes and the apple fritters. 3) Cheap! One donut is $.59. I doubt you'll be paying less than that at a Dunkin Donuts. read more

I thought the kolaches were sad, I had a spicy sausage and there was a spicy hotdog! The bread was too airy and sweet for me. The jelly donut was ok. I think Shipleys is better. But, the donut holes are awesome! read more

Wethinks: Forget about all the big name places in Austin. This is the place to get donuts Donut perfection. No gimmicks. Light on the pocket book. Prompt, friendly service. Great job! read more

I was trying to find a replacement for Super Donuts when my parents made the move downtown from Leander. Donut Crown is just as clean, sweet, and simple as it gets. Perfectly soft, fresh donuts with a large kolache and an orange juice is something I cannot get anywhere else. Every donut shop outside of Texas has dry and stale donuts. They do not have kolaches, and they are not owned by friendly asian families asking whether or not I am vietnamese, korean, or even cambodian. Places like Donut Crown are the things I look forward to most when coming home during the holidays. read more

One less star because they sold out of almost everything at 10 am. I did however was able to try the banana fitter. Pretty unique and yummy. Got the apple fritter as well and it was pretty normal haha. Nothing too spectacular but they do load up on glaze. So if you're a glaze fan~ perfect spot to try out! read more

I love me some Donut Crown every now and again. They do a delicious standard chocolate glaze--the prerequisite for a doughnut store to be in business, but they also make some pretty outrageous blueberry and toasted coconut. The have some ok kolaches of the pigs in blanket variety too. read more

Good donuts, and the strawberry cream cheese is outstanding! I miss not working near there anymore.

Excellent, So far this is my favorite Donut place in Austin. The filling they use for their chocolate filled donuts is fabulous!

The kids love this place. (they are, in fact, the doughnut connoisseurs.) Always super friendly service, and even if the line is long, you can get in & out of there quickly. Good doughnuts, great kolaches! read more

I haven't tried anything but the doughnuts, but I gotta say, they are top notch! I bring them to work and they get devoured! You must try the devils food, it melts in your mouth! Pretty friendly service and really good prices. They've got me hooked! read more

This place refused to honor an Entertainment Book coupon! Wee wee on them ! They Are very snooty at this shop! Act like they are the only donut shop in Austin, TX!!! read more

Went there based on the other Yelp reviews. There by 10:30 a.m. and already out of a lot of the donuts. This is a good sign. I bought a dozen and some donut holes to give it a go... The dough is moist and not too sweet with great consistency. Really nice balance between the dough and the glaze without feeling you just bit into a sugar bomb. I am not a fan of Krispy Kreme for that reason. Additionally, they filled my jelly filled donut right as I ordered it. It was full of flavoring and again not overly sweet. The donut holes were a huge hit as well: bite size with just enough glaze. I did not try the kolaches or the tacos. I will save that for another trip - yes, I will go back. read more

This is one of the 3 places I will visit for donuts in and around the North Austin area. Chewy but not dense, sweet but not too rich- their yeast donuts are a step above your typical neighborhood donut shop. They never seem to quite have the depth of flavor of the golden beauties they sell at Mrs. Johnson's. and their cake donuts are pretty forgettable. But all things considered, Donut Crown is a GREAT place to get your glazed donuts. read more

Glazed donuts are the perfect amount of sweetness, but the ham and cheese croissants... those are no good at all. No. Good. At. All. They will not be supremely delicious and craveable, so you should just stay away and leave them all for me. I'll take care of them. read more

The best kolaches in the whole. wide. world. period.

Great donuts, clean place, pleasant service. Large variety of donuts. They also have kolaches, breakfast tacos and croissant sandwiches. There was a review a while back about poor signage and some attitude. The signs were fine and no problem with service when we came. read more

Donut Crown has been our favorite bakery for a decade, and I am sorry that it has taken so long for me to write a review. They are simply the BEST donuts in town, and the kolaches are amazing too. The prices are very reasonable, and the service is always wonderful. It is always very clean, and the people who run it are always really nice - especially to my kids. We love Donut Crown! read more

Went here today to pick up a dozen donuts for a client I was in town visiting. Picked them because they were close by and the Yelp reviews were so good, and they did not disappoint. Selection was fresh and plentiful, super fast and super cheap - what's not to like? read more

Yummy donut deliciousness awaits you at the Donut Crown. I picked up a dozen donuts and some donut holes this morning for work - $6.59, I kid you not. Where else can you feed hungry coworkers on a budget like that? And you're in and out in less then 2 minutes. They are quick! We enjoy their apple fritters, and the glazed donuts, sour cream donuts, chocolate covered donuts. Really - is there a donut flavor that isn't good from here? I don't know...haven't tried their kolaches yet, but will have to based on some other reviews and will report back. good stuff - give this cute and yummy local place your business. Now off to find one of those leftover donuts from this mornings run if there are any to be had. read more

Awesome donuts. We've been coming here for over a decade and are never disappointed. We tried a few other places in town and none can compare. Be sure to get the apple fritter, because it is the best I've ever had. read more

I really was hoping for better since this place is so close to my house, but...yeah its meh. I picked up a dozen sausage cheese kloches and was just really not impressed. The roll part was tasty but the little sausage link gets lost in it. I'm thinking maybe this place is just donut place...meh read more

Nice owners, they have fresh coffee during this water boil madness, not overly sweet blueberry cake donut (yay!) and serve my chocolate coconut and have raspberry jelly. Thumbs up on that jalapeño, cheese and sausage kolache. read more

Very fresh, light, no grease taste of any kind, fluffy, and large donuts. I have like everything I have tried. The lightest and fluffy cake blueberry donut I ever had. So glad to have found this place. read more

Fantastic donuts, my fave in Austin, good breakfast tacos and the people who run it are really sweet.

I've been to a lot of donut shops in Austin. Donut Crown has the best donuts and the best service.

The sausage cheese jalapeno kolache was pretty depressing. The sausage was an itty bitty hot dog, and there was one tiny jalapeno slice in the whole thing. The apple fritters definitely made up for the kolache. They were crispy and sweet on the outside, spicy and doughy on the inside. We'll definitely be back for them. The eclair was only ok. The chocolate icing wasn't horrible, but it was pretty watery and not as fudgy as I usually prefer. All in all, we'll be back- if only for the fritters. read more

Excellent donuts and service. Only wished they stayed open later. My favorite are the old-fashioned donuts. They also have Colotchie's and croissants. If you want to get the good donuts you better be here before 10 AM read more

Super cheap. Super convenient. Must say though, not a huge fan of the old fashion sour cream. Different flavor.

Best eclair I've had in a while and the kolaches were great. Also try the ham & cheese croissant

This is a place that I get my donuts and kolache for work and for myself. The kolache that has croissant bread are really my favorites. The bread has a buttery taste that just melts in my mouth. The donuts are fluffy and just the right touch of sweetness. The young lady is very nice. The service is simple and quick. read more
