Tastes as bad as it looks

Possibly the worst sausage kolaches in town. The dough is so dense and there is a faint chemical taste (kind of like bug spray. Will not be reordering.

Old photos of their donuts are sort of misleading and they do NOT have the double raised donuts of my youth that I've been trying to find, but they DO make a darn fine donut. I ordered a chocolate glaze, a cinnamon sugar raise, and a raspberry filled, as well as a dozen donut holes. ($5.50ish) I definitely think the jelly donut was the star, they fill them to order and they have like 7-8 options. I do wish they had a powdered sugar option, instead of just a glazed. I think that would be even more amazing. None of them were too sickeningly sweet, and the chocolate only has a hint of chocolate flavor, but they do make a double chocolate cake, that looks yummy if you're wanting more chocolate flavor. My cinnamon sugar raised (which is what I came in for) is good. I'll likely be back to get one again the next time I have a donut craving. This is the best one I've found so far. I think they're worth a try if you're looking for something to bring in for work meetings or before school. Nothing too fancy like Duck, but good solid donuts at normal donut prices.

I've never seen a cinnamon roll this small before.

There are not many donut places in the area so I gave them a try. When I walked in I saw the selection is limited and the case looked spread out to make it look fuller. The past photos are way out of date. As as you can see from the photo how small the cinnamon roll is, maybe three bites. Most items looked smaller than other shops. I won't be back.

    Great donuts, friendly service

I stop by here every few months to pick up some goodies for the work place. I usually get a dozen donuts + 4 big kolaches and that runs me just less than $20. All their donuts are good and fresh. I am a fan of the blueberry cake donuts! Their kolaches are also yummy. If you like a little spice in the morning, get the jalapeno kolache. Service is friendly and fast!

Not sure which is sweeter, the donuts or the woman that works here!! Just about the BEST donuts and kolaches I have ever tried, everything is house made and every flavor makes you smile. Only been here twice now and can say I'm going back many more times!!

This is literally my favorite donut shop! The cereal donuts are so delicious! Fluffy and covered in sweetness, the donuts are always soft and yummy. I recommend this place to everyone!

Now I can honestly say I am a kolache snob. I can make a pretty damn good kolache and if I'm going to go it and pay for some they better be comparable. Hats of to you! I ordered a dozen of the sausage and cheese and they may have been some of the best ones I've tasted. The bread was sweet but almost pretzel bread type, I can't even explain it the way it tasted other then amazing. Mmmmm now I want more. I also got a dozen of donuts that I randomly picked out and every single one was outstanding! This place is my new go to spot near my office. I will be back! They even had egg rolls and maybe a burrito, it seemed random but I have a feeling they would have been delicious also. If you like the blueberry donuts that are the cake type OMG it melted in my mouth and was like an explosion of flavors. Ugh, every time I write a review I instantly become hungry. Must Must Must stop here! You'll be blown away by excellence!

Just to be clear, I AM somewhat of a subject matter expert. I have eaten all manner of fried dough creations from coast to coast, including Hawaii, and I have a lot to say on the topic. My favorite is still Cider Belly in Albany, NY, but I digress. The PB&J donut here is one of the best things I have ever eaten. I dragged it out for 3 days. Even semi-stale, and reheated in the microwave, it was still delicious. I put a scoop of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream on it which definitely helped. I also ordered a Heavenly Hash (one of my favorite ice cream flavors BTW) and a Naughty and Nice because I am all about the classics. They were both outstanding. No leftovers. I bought these donuts in lieu of birthday cake this year which may become my new tradition. Honestly, I think these are my new favorite donuts in Austin now.

When we went our choices were $9-$10 donut base desserts. I say base because the toppings cover up the donut visually. Despite that, there's no covering that scrumptious taste and texture. Wowaweea. Yes, you feel your cells expand and pants tighten and it is for sure run club pre and post, but quite worth it. These divine donuts have that cakey interior I love so much. We had the Puddin': cream cheese icing, vanilla pudding, fresh bananas with nilla wafers. According to the menu. Ours didn't have any nilla wafers and the presentation was uneven, hence the four stars. I didn't miss the wafers. The icing and pudding were one goopy topping and the bananas slices were half scattered slices and half banana chunk that I had to separate. Side notes: Gourdough sits on a corner with parking spots that are not free. There's a pay via QR code so you'll need a phone or something to scan that. Boo for digital shackles. Next note- I feel like this is a low key meet up spot. Like the way they tried to make the first train cars on the MTA the singles car? There was a series of singles getting doughnuts and they were a little done up for the occasion. Who knows. With the little IG ready love seats and doughnuts made for sharing, you could walk away with extra sugar.

The audacity Story time, Today I went to the original Round Rock location, downtown Round Rock, to buy my son's birthday donuts, It's tradition. Every year on his birthday he gets a dozen half glazed and half chocolate frosted donuts. Then I get a kolache and a dozen donut holes for myself. Well when I pulled up today the line was wrapped around all the way to Mays street. So I just followed the line of cars and got in line. You'd think that a line that long would take a long time but.... Round Rock donuts has this process down to a T. It took less than 10 minutes to get through that line and get my order. And those donuts came out hot and fresh. So did my kolache. Anywho, Don't let the lines scare you away, Just jump in and know they're going to move quickly. Also, If you're planning an office event or any type of event and you want donuts and coffee or kolaches donuts and coffee, Round Rock donuts offers a great menu for large orders and also they have a cake menu for custom cake orders. If you don't want to stay in line in your car you can also park wherever you can find a spot and go to the walk-up ordering window, It's shaded and there's plenty of space to hang out while your order is being made and brought out to you. All this to say, It's a Round Rock Donut, Happy Birthday to my Son!

For years, I'd heard so much good about them; it was about time to sample their goods. Since it was a weekday and a bit later in the morning hours, the line wasn't too bad. Watching the vehicles flying through the drive-thru, I could see that these folks have it down to a science. Order after order is being handed to their customers with military precision. We got a cinnamon roll and a fritter for the road, plus 6 donuts to take back home with us. The fritter was OK, I've had better. My wife's cinnamon roll was too huge to manage. It was definitely Texas-sized. The six donuts we took home were two blueberry cake donuts, two regular raised donuts, and two filled. The filled donuts were our favorites, along with the cake and the traditional raised. We can now say we've been to the legendary Round Rock Donuts.

Why am I going to one in Austin? Well, it's because I am a completeist and I try to go to as many Voodoo Doughnut locations as I can. Austin has two locations but Steve was only willing to tolerate going to one location so we went here. The doughnuts are going to be about the same as any other location however I did come across one that I haven't seen before. I am not sure if it was limited edition or what but I liked it. It was kind of take on a Black Forest Cake but it wasn't cherries that were on top of the doughnut and cream. It was more like blueberries. It was good and I am glad I tried it! I was really hoping to see the Ring of Fire Doughnut as it's my favorite but I didn't see it here. I got more of a powdered doughnut too as I do like their more basic doughnuts too. Steve got something that almost was like a Dubai-esque Chocolate Doughnut. It had pistachios on it and was a chocolate cake. That one was good too! Atmosphere is weird and quirky like all of their locations try to be which I can appreciate. So if you are addicted to Voodoo Doughnuts or have been wanting to try them but don't plan any PNW trips then definitely swing by the Texas locations. We kept it simple -- fish cone with nutella and ube soft serve. We had the option of swirling it with a milk tea ice cream but it had a little bit of caffeine so no good. Glad the choice was made for us -- the ube was perfect on its own. Also happy we skipped the toppings since the creaminess really came through.
