At first I was a little worried because I'm a wing fanatic and i read some reviews about the wings being overcooked... I ordered them extras sauce and was not disappointed. I ordered by phone and showed up about 15 mins later. They pulled the perfectly cooked pizza out of the oven and put it a box. The wings now came out of the fryer and were expertly tossed and extra sauce was poured on. I will tell you that for a neighborhood pizza joint it is undoubtedly my favorite. Very good pizza! Really enjoyed the pizza. This is by far the best pizza since I left Jersey. Lived in Virginia for four years and no pizza there worth mentioning . The crust here was great and it must have been since my partner ate all his which he rarely does. The sauce on the pizza was perfect, good cheese and very good pepperoni. So far have had 4 different items from the menu. NY style pizza is great, big slices, good cheese and real nutty, toasted flavor which tells me they use quality ingredients. Wings were good flavor, good sauce and trimmed well were the drumsticks. My nephews wanted the BBQ style and those seemed to be a hit. Tonight we went with the pasta. Chicken Alfredo, Chicken Piccata Entree and Baked Lasagna. Each came with a side salad and couple of garlic knots. Well it was a lot of food but worth it. We used to go out to Carrabba's, but after there serving size went down to 1/4 of what they used to it wasn't worth it. Don's NY satisfied our craving, and good size portions. Decided to try this fairly new pizza place a couple weeks ago. I am always very apprehensive of anywhere that has "NY Pizza" in its name as this has been a telltale sign in the past of the farthest thing from NY Pizza. I grew up about an hour outside of Philadelphia so I am no stranger to our beloved East coast pizza. This place, however, does not disappoint! The pizza is amazing. Best on the West side, BY FAR. For example, the first time we stopped in it was lunch. They've got unbeatable lunch specials and you will get full off of the lunch combo believe me! Anyway, we noticed this huge pizza pie in the display window and we scooped it out not knowing what the heck were the brownish grey pepperoni looking slices on top of it. So when we got a chance to ask, we were surprised to find ha that it was sausage. We never seen in our lives sliced sausage. So we tried it next visit and I was addicted after the first bite! There is something incredible in the mixture of seasonings used that I just cant get enough. My birthday just passed this December 6th and guess what I asked for, yep that's right Don's Pizza! Came here to check it out and was in the mood for pizza. They are a new establishment I believe, but it's a simple place and the staff are great. They helped us choose and see all the specials, we also came in less than an hour before closing and they were still cool about everything.
