07.23.2022 Second time in one week we've tried to dine here. Placed an order, Lg Hand Tossed Cut in squares and a salad. Seems simple enough..: First time, on Tuesday, it was cut incorrect and we left. Tonite, I'm here, placed the order as stated above. Two stars because they make edible food. Do not let the two-stars deter you from eating at ANY other Donatos. This review is based on the Amelia location only. Full-disclosure: I worked for Donatos in HS and again in college. We've ordered from here at least an average of once per month since we relocated June of '18. Everytime we've ordered a pie, I request "thick" or "sweet" sauce. It's a lot more robust, thicker, and sweeter. It's just an all-around better tasting sauce. The thicker sauce truly adds a different dimension in the flavor department. There has been no less than 10x where our food has arrived with the thinner sauce. And sadly, after you've experienced the thick sauce, you will never want anything else. Additionally, you'll be disappointed on how truly bad the thin sauce is. To their credit, they've at least offered to remake our orders every time. This issue with that is, instead of having a proper amount of food, we then have double, and a lot of it goes to waste. I cannot for the life of me understand how our orders get messed up, every time. The lone exception is when I placed a delivery order and then called the store to verify they would use the proper sauce. Today, however, I called an order in and specified "thick" sauce, and it was STILL wrong! Bottom line is this store needs a major overhaul from the ground up. Steer clear of this location. read more

Reduced to carry out in these pandemic times. I ended up at Donatos on an unseasonably warm Saturday evening. Ordered a split cheese and pepperoni pizza and an order of barbecue wings. The pizza was typical Donatos...wall to wall pepperoni and decent cheese pizza. Nothing wrong here. Donatos is decent carry out pizza. The problem was the nasty wings. Heavy breading and equally heavy barbecue sauce couldn't hide the lack of meat. What little I found I gave to Jenks, our dog. Yuck. Avoid these like covid 19. I went to the store to get some explanation as to why my coupon wasn't working. I spoke with Tracy, a manager at this location, who informed me that there's nothing she can do she doesn't have time. She states she's not able to honor that coupon you'll have to do it online. I then told her I won't be back because I don't have time to waste an hour of my day trying to figure out their website. She decides to get an attitude with me slamming things telling me that basically she's not gonna be cussed at, when I never cussed at her personally. On top of that she's threw my food through the window at me, and slammed the window in my face. I get home with my food only to discover my pizza, my shareable meatballs, and bread sticks are undercooked/cold. My autistic son witnessed the whole thing. I decided to call the manager of the store, Mike. the next day to tell him about how his employee treated me. He stated to me he had already spoken to all the employees that worked last night and the district manager. The only thing he can offer me is an apology. He actually stated the only thing he can offer me is an apology which isn't an apology at all. I told him I will never be step foot in his business ever again. He basically acted like he could care less. So I will be contacting corporate and the district manager personally to tell them this store. I don't believe this manager did speak to anyone. I would like this investigate further. I will also be reporting this location to the food and health board due to them serving me undercooked food, which we didn't even attempt to eat. We love Donatos pizza, but this location is HORRIBLE. Our orders are NEVER, ever ready on time. We ALWAYS have to wait 30-60 minutes beyond the promised time to get our food. It's ridiculous. Not sure if it's a staffing issue or what. We live about 5 minutes from this location, but we'd rather drive 30 minutes to a different location instead... it's faster! Yea they lie and steal. I ordered a pizza and a 2 liter. It was for delivery so I received the pizza but no 2 liter. So I called the store and was told I could come get it or nothing. Saturday night...one delivery driver on the weekend before the 4th of July. Pizza arrived cold. Normally I would just call and complain but the that poor delivery driver would be over worked. My pizza was 40 mins past the time window. I had tipped online but think about people who don't because of late deliveries! They will take it out on the worker for orders being late. Staff up on weekends if you can. Haven't ordered pizza in a while for delivery. I did end up calling and the manager gave me a credit because I didn't want a replacement or to stress out the driver. UPDATE! I'm giving 4 stars because the manager Steven/ Stephen (I dont know the spelling because I called) was EXTREMELY professional!!!! My pizza arrived cold and outside of the delivery window and he gave me an immediate credit and was very understanding. Give this manager a promotion and a raise! I can imagine calls like this to be very frustrating. This manager was a model employee and is by far the type of employee I would want to represent my business! Excellent management. It has been a few years since I been able to get food here. They did. It have it where I moved down south. So I really wanted to have there pizza and garlic cheese bread along with pizza from here. Ordered it online and everything was burnt. The thin crust wasn't bad but they remade the two items. The bread was plain chees they other way to much cheese. A half pep and chees pizza with more cheese then anything. Was told that I might have to wait for tossed crust pizza because it might be frozen. Thankfully it wasn't. The manager Erica kept making excuses saying it's one of those nights where nothing right. Did not seem that way the fifteen minutes I waited for them to remake things menwhile my other pizza got cold even after being under a light to try and keep it warm. Also they looked at my food did not tuck it but opened it up with no gloves to protect my food. While raining many of the employees where eating back there, droning around the food as it came out, playing on their phones and one with a Bluetooth earbud or air-pod In her ear. I do t mind having fun at work. But this was a little much. No one took it seriously about all the food that was coming out. Many just running around. So giving me an excuse that nothing is going right when I'm clearly their watching all this going on was not a valid excuse. Horrible. If you have any other option, do NOT waste your money here. I have had the misfortune of dining here. I gave the Donatos corporate website a complaint and after a couple weeks finally got a response and got a credit for a brick street bread which is the item that was completely horrible. First of all, I arrived about 45 minutes before they closed and all the lights were off and no one was anywhere to be seen. The donatos light was off, the dining room lights, the open late sign. Everything. After paying for my order they decided to put my food in the oven, which was the time my food was supposed to be ready, ok, so I patiently wait for it. I get the food 15 minutes later and it is completely raw. And the guy who took it out of the oven knew it was, he went to pull it out, then pushed it back in for another second, then decided to just put it in the box and give it to me. I didn't look at it until I got home at which point they were closed. I paid over $16 for a pizza and brick street bread. I'm confused on why it took two hours to make pizzas when it was ordered two hours ago. They are either severely understaffed or severely unqualified or even a combination of both. Was told that our pizza would arrive 30-40 minutes never arrived after an hour and a half. I called multiple times while home to ask about where our pizza was, no answer. I drove up to find that the store is drive thru only. So while in line I called the store again and asked a male employee how we had ordered a pizza and it was an hour and a half late, and he answered sarcastically, "Yeeeaahhh?..." I said, "I am waiting in the drive thru line and I was wondering if you could bring out our pizza and give us a refund?" The employee responded with " We'll see you when you get here." and hung up on me before I could answer. After addressing another employee at the window, he told me that our pizza had just been sent out for delivery. I still asked for a refund, to which he agreed to. After a few minutes he says that the driver didn't give him a copy of the receipt to do the refund so we had to wait more for the driver to come back to complete the refund. I ordered a large pizza, a asiago cheese bread and a cinnamon bread. I live about 25 minutes from the restaurant, I found all of my products burnt on th bottom. I called and spoke to the manager and she said she would give me credit for the entire $28.00 order. That was at the end of January. I called to get my replacement order, and even though the manager I spoke to knew when I ordered, and that it was my first time ordering, she had no credit on file, and seemed more interested in the name of the manager then my order.
