THE BIG: Located in Cedar Park inside the H Mart food court. Tucked away in the corner of the food court, you can't miss the smells emanating from this food stall. Parking is relegated to the parking lot. THE BLACK AND WHITE: Everytime I go to the H Mart in Cedar Park, I always check out the food court and Don's Chicken KFC always wonder how good their chicken is. They have a bunch of different flavors like regular, sweet and spicy, spicy, cheese, spicy soy garlic. Since I'm slightly lactose, I try to avoid anything cheesey. I got the medium spicy soy garlic, and the sauce was great, however the crunch of the KFC resembled a single fry rather than the renowned double fried, super crunchy exterior with juicy chicken flesh interior. The sides were a sad portion of pickled radish. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, for a medium spicy soy garlic wings, it came out to be around $18. Not a bad KFC place, however there are better spots in Austin in my opinion.

I don't usually update my reviews, but I just always feel like I get disappointed and mislead by my own review whenever I eat here so it's time for an update. Not only does the chicken take a long while to come out, but it always comes out so dry! If they cooked it a little less, they could hit two birds with one stone! Shorter wait times and less dry chicken! If you get one of the sauce based flavors, they can kinda get away with it because the outside is really nice and crispy. And then you have the sauce to get things moving. But if you get the dry rub seasoning flavors, it is still really crispy the which is ideal. But the inside is so dry, it becomes a little unenjoyable. Which is a shame because the ppurings seasoning is actually so delicious.

solid fried chicken spot inside hmart. i would recommend getting just chicken as their fries are a bit bland and missing flavor (or borrow some of the sauces at the k dog place). we got two different combos as you aren't allowed to mix chicken types or flavors. i tried the soy garlic and sweet and spicy. they were both pretty solid flavors, i wish the soy garlic had more sauce. the chicken is was yummy with crispy skin. the drumstick combo is the HUGE sticks while the wings has flats and drums but are your normal size. i would definitely come back and just get the chicken but it is on the pricey side.

I felt it was overpriced for what you get. I got the boneless sweet and spicy chicken. Not to spicy for those that are curious and/or crave the heat. With it being $20ish after tip, I was underwhelmed.

I came to Don chicken on a recommendation to try the sweet and spicy chicken. I got the combo with 3 drumsticks, fries and coleslaw in the sweet and spicy sauce and it did not disappoint! The sauce is amazing, chicken came out nice and hot and juicy! Service was out of this world awesome! Actually offered me a box and bag for my food from another restaurant noticing my hands were full just while waiting for my chicken! I will most definitely be back! Thanks so much Don chicken!

A great fried chicken option in Austin is located inside Hmart at the food court. The service is quick and easy to order, and there are lots of tables and a clean environment. Food is always spot on.

#5 Spicy Garlic + Cole Slaw. . DELICIOUS

Repeat customers at this great stand in the H-Mart food court. We love the garlic hot chicken and the portions are generous. The food court is comfortable and clean, although it can get a bit busy and crowded at times. Plenty of drink options nearby including a wide selection of canned and bottled beers.

Was at H Mart to grab some last-minute groceries. Decided to eat in the food court and tried out Don Chicken. The person at the register was busy on his phone and didn't even acknowledge me until a minute later. Ordered my food and sat back down at my table. The chicken was kind of tough and dry. The sauce was decent, but they are heavy-handed with it. The fried chicken was okay-- nothing to special about it-- the coleslaw was refreshing and helped with the fried food. I don't know if I would try it again after this, just due to how the chicken was cooked.

Soy garlic was warm and tasty. The cheese (I forgot the full name ) was regular fried chicken, lots of batter but still tasted good. The French fries- substandard. Love the food court ambience. Always packed especially on weekends.

Review is for take-out via GrubHub with a travel time of less than 10 minutes. My order wasn't ready when I got there but I only had to wait five minutes. They brought it out to me where I was sitting in the H-Mart food court, which was very considerate. The value is quite nice for this Korean Fried Chicken. Five drumsticks (medium) easily fed two people. I made some vegetables at home to go with it, not realizing they included some complimentary pickled radish (great to cut the heat!) The chicken overall is a 3.5/5. It was still crispy even doing take-out, but some pieces were juicer than others. One was extremely stringy while another was massive and perfectly tender. I'd say it's hit or miss but overall, the value is great.

6 piece Combo - Soy Garlic

Average KFC in my opinion. The wings were huge so value wise it was good but the flavor was just okay. Definitely something in this chicken to be this big and unnatural. Did Soy Garlic as the rub, again it was okay but had better. Run of the mills fries. I actually really liked the coleslaw so that was surprising. There's a bb.q Chicken right outside Hmart which may be a better option but anyway, this was okay.

First time trying Korean Chicken and my expectations were pretty high. I ordered soy garlic wings and the hot and spicy drumsticks. Starting with the pros, both orders were beyond filling for one person each. While it was a bit pricey, definitely felt like I got my moneys worth based on the quantity. I ordered the meal via Doordash, so I was afraid the chicken would be soggy but was pleasantly surprised that it was still very warm and had some crispiness to it despite being smothered in sauce. What I didn't like: The chicken drumsticks were HUGE, as in unnaturally so. I've seriously never had a chicken drumstick so big and the flavor was definitely not hot enough. Instead it had more sweet undertones that overpowered the spice in my opinion. So was this the best fried chicken I've had? Not by a long mile but I'm interested in trying more flavors in the future to see what I like better!

Having tried KFC at a few places, I know I like it if it is done well. Second, never buy food from a place that does not have prices on their menu. There was no hanging menu but on their counter was one with the prices whited out. I selected the Soy Garlic Drumsticks. I was taken back when the cashier said, that will be $16.99. The last time I purchased them from this location, granted before COVID, it was only $8.99. Almost double in price. I paid and waited. A short time later, I am leaving with my box of chicken. Arriving home, I open the box. The drumsticks weren't the small ones, they were full size. I felt a little better about the price as there was more meat. I take a bite looking forward to the crispy batter. Instead, I am playing tug of war with the skin. Chewy, rubbery, not nice skin. Looking around and I find there is very little batter on the leg. The sauce, which was a sticky mess did have a nice flavor. Going further, the extra meat was not flavorful. Kind of bland. After finishing the one piece, I was left disappointed. That's when it hit me, this is not Donkey Mo's. Now I have five more pieces of chicken drumsticks to get through. For me, there is no reason to go back. I will find another place for KFC

Feels quite safe as well. We waited about 10 minutes, so they're clearly popular. Service was great, they were quick to refill our banchan small dishes, and portions were quite large too. Banchan included potatoes, japchae, octopus, kimchi, and purple rice, which was a nice touch. I don't usually love purple rice, but this was good. No fried fish like some other spots offer, but everything else more than made up for it. Decor is simple and bright inside. Beef Tofu Soondobu, Spicy Level 6 ($18, 8/10) - Pretty solid soondobu, comes with mushroom in the standard option, which was an interesting touch - Portion of beef was moderate - Spice level 6 was tolerable, not overwhelming (though I'm not great at judging spice levels, so probably could've gone higher) - Lots of tofu in the bowl, really enjoyed this - roth flavor was great, not the best ever, but definitely not the worst Overall, really enjoyed this spot. Feels like a mom and pop kind of place, great service, great banchan flavor, and probably one of the best soondobu spots in Austin. Would definitely come back.

The first time I went it wasn't great because it was chewy but the second time I went it was delicious! Steamed Egg 2/5 Although this was hot and soft, there was no flavor at all other than egg. I wouldn't get it again. Kimchi Pancake 4/5 This was crispy and good but it was a bit doughy and it needs more kimchi. The sauce was yummy though! I like vinegar flavors so this sauce was more salty than tangy. It also had a yummy onion flavor. Pork Belly 5/5 Although this came plain and seems like not much, it was actually very delicious! The pork belly was juicy, tender, and it had a nice fat flavor. Yang Dak 5/5 This is a very saucy, sweet, savory, and delicious dish! I enjoyed the fried rice cakes that came with it, and the sauce added so much to it! The radish was bitter but I'm not sure if there was something wrong with my tastebuds. The flavor was sweet, savory, and very gochujang. Juicy and crispy! Kimchi Stew 5/5 This kimchi stew is fresh, spicy, salty, tangy, and everything needed after a long day! Honestly, the personal serving was big and enough for 3 people. Definitely try this out! Good vibes at night, good service, not bad prices compared to nearby places, check it out!

I don't believe they do reservations but shortly after we were sat there was a waiting line. The restaurant was at full capacity with people at the sushi bar and regular tables. When entering you were promptly greeted and the staff was friendly. We ordered: * Chirashi - 5/5 super fresh sashimi and the presentation was beautiful. The bowl came with some pickled onion and cucumber of some sort. Served with a salad and seaweed paper * spicy pork - 5/5 it's not blow your head off spicy on the first bite but the more you eat the spicier it gets. I was making me break a sweat! This paired really well with the banchan. It's served with a bowl of rice. * complimentary banchan- 4/5 kimchi, seasoned onion, fish cakes, and an elbow salad . The kimchi and seasoned onion were my favorites. The fish cake was ok but it was a bit fishy. The elbow salad was bland. These banchan came in small little bowls and we had to ask our waiter to refill the banchan since there was 4 of us. * unagi nigiri- 5/5 the unagi was so good! One of the best unagi I had in a while! It was the perfect amount of sauce and I wish I would have ordered another one. * hotate nigiri- 5/5 like wow! I was pleasantly surprise the freshness of the scallop and it just melted in your mouth. It was smoky and idk what sauce they brushed the scallop with but it made the perfect bite. I also wished I ordered a second one of these. * salmon nigiri- 4/5- it was a good salmon nigiri. Wasn't the best I've ever had but it was good Note: I originally wanted to get their big spread bento box with all different types of Korean food that they had when they first open. But I was sad and disappointed to hear they had discontinue that. The only bento box presentation they do is the sushi. I really kicked myself for not coming sooner when they had that so I can try a little bit of everything they had on the menu with the large bento box spread. Do I recommend this place? Absolutely the vibe is great and the service is great. This place is a great date night gem and a casual treat your self to a great meal! I definitely recommend trying this Ghama Zone! They have a massive menu and you can eat Korean food and sushi :) best of both worlds! The sushi is high quality too! We can wait to come back to try their other dishes!
