My go to is usually non-Carbone because they have a Mesquite Grill and the chicken and steak are so flavorful. This is a fast food. It's a great Mexican fast food restaurant. Their signature Carbona Angus Burger is among the very best burgers I've ever had. The staff is too nice. The chicken is good but that's it. This "queso fundido" is the most foul thing I've ever seen as far as queso fundido goes. And they almost forgot. This is $11.55?! Absolutely insane and a waste of money. Staff almost forgot it and I wish they had honestly. Been a customer of Don Carbon for a while, and it's good. However, this isn't fine dinning. This restaurant increased prices dramatically! What use to cost $9.47 (3 piece combo) is now $14.47. Compare the menu and everything is crazy expensive. I know what everyone is thinking, inflation, sorry no. While inflation accounts for most increases this is in the realm of price gauging. I enjoyed this place for a quick meal for me and the family but I won't be going back. A meal for me and my wife $50 dollars. Unsustainable, unjustified, and not worth that price point. Can't say at that I have tried the food. Sounded really good, so we stopped to eat there. As soon as we walked in, we turned around and left. Smelled extremely strong of sewage! People kept walking in and we were like... can't they smell it?! It was strong, nasty, and we just couldn't imagine the cleanliness of cooking utensils, drinks, etc. in a place that smelled that bad. Let me start by saying this place is a crazy good deal! I got a ton of food during a recent lunch visit, plus a fountain drink, for only $9. I recommend the Carboncito combo - comes with a drink, two (big) pieces of chicken, and two sides of your choice. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the portion size was plentiful. I got a baked potato, which came topped with butter and shredded cheese, and cooked well. I also got a side salad, it seems like ranch dressing is to go-to dressing, which I didn't mind. They also have rice, fries and beans among the side options. To top it all off, it comes with complimentary (square!) tortillas and a selection of salsas, which was a nice finishing touch. How do you run out of chicken. Yes the food is good, but customer service is not. You wait in drive thru forever, maybe the manager should go across the street to chick fil la and learn how take care of the guest and run a drive thru. I stopped here after my sons soccer game and went through the drive through. I ordered the 3 piece chicken with two sides. My husband ordered the same but with steak instead of chicken. When I got home and opened the box I was so surprised there waa a ton of food in there the chicken was delicious the macaroni salad was so good my baked potato I added beef after I put some butter and cheese on top it too was yummy. What a HORRIBLE first experience. HORRIBLE! I AM LIVID! Today is my husband's birthday - a day which I wanted to be wonderful for him! We both took the day off in order to be together, relaxing, FINALLY having a break. I decided to order food delivery - being new to door dash and the area I decided to give it a try. How bad could it be? HORRIFIC! So, I decide I'll order something.. and add a slice of cheesecake, one of his favorites! On that slice I'll put one candle, light it and sneak it up to him while singing happy birthday. I want his day to be special for him.. we've had a rough few years and he needed something to know he matters... So the food comes, I scramble to find the cheesecake.. nothing. I text the driver who tells me they told him they had none-yet I will still billed. So i decide to cal the restaurant - at least they'd refund my $3, right? NO!... So, I call the restaurant and Kimberly says, "I figured you didn't want the cheesecake on top of your food in the bag.."... I replied, "why not? The cheese was spilled all over everything. They even put the 4 jalapenos I ordered atop my son's meal! Not even in their own container! My son cannot have spicy foods and his fries were ruined.. Seriously?! What a terrible excuse! So I ask, "where is my cheesecake then?" and then starts saying, "uhm.. well.. on your next order I can make sure I put it inside..". I cut her off and told her that this is my first experience with Door Dash as well as Don Carbon, and seeing how it's going I will NEVER order from/through either again. She replies, "well it's his fault! he should have checked the order." So he should have done her job? How many excuses can one person give within a 5 minute span.. we're at 3, in case you weren't keeping count. I let her know that I just want the cheesecake.. today! My husband's birthday is not tomorrow, not next week. She has me hold while she speaks with her manager. Her manager lets her know to tell me that they are not affiliated with Door Dash.. so tough luck. I let her know that she needs to tell her manager that this is exactly how you lose business and your company shuts down. What an awful excuse for a food "service" location... the food was 1-2 stars out of 5 as it was... -0- stars for attitude, lies, and irritation. Very disappointed. I am a fan of the chain of don carbons recently I received a gift card. I tried to use it and was told that I can only use this card at this location. Which was 30 mins away from me. The next week I took my family and they told me "sorry but this gift card is pretty much useless. And does not have any value." I have not felt more cheated with the price a meal than this place. For almost $14 I received a salad (most of the box) a leg and a piece of a breast and fries. The fries are exceptional. I also received a cup the size of a small ( it's their only size) for my sweet tea (Lipton machine made)!!!!! I also purchased a piece of cheesecake ( average at best). This will be the only time I ever eat here. If you're at loves looking for something other than McDonald's, Denny's is across the street. My wife and I ate their chicken for lunch on 9/7/18 and both of us got diarrhea 2 to 3 hours later. I had stomach pain. I had a two piece chicken combo with charro beans and green salad. The chicken was awesome and left me wishing I had chosen more pieces. The salad was okay everything was fresh but it was salad not much more to say about it. The beans were very good also. Not big portions but not too small either. It also came with square tortillas, salsa, onions, and a couple roast peppers. Overall a great meal for the price. read more

This is my favorite charcoal grilled chicken in town. Their fit bowl is awesome with lots of veggies and protein. They don't use huge chickens like you would expect from Sam's or Costco, so maybe they're not fully loaded with hormones. You have to look at the menu closely to find what portions are best suited for you family. Another reviewer mentioned that he felt cheated, well it's not exactly a fast food place. Their food is not made in lab, like McDonald's.This place exceeds by far all of the other chains like pollo loco or pollo feliz. I took my family out to eat on Friday to the one on South Desert Boulevard. It was the first time we've eaten at Don Carbon. We got the Mr. Carbon the price was fair and reasonable. The food was delicious best chicken in town with many sides to chose from. Customer service was great as we walked in employees looked happy and friendly. Silvia attended us and made sure we were all set and made sure we were satisfied with our food. Best customer service we've had in awhile thank you again Silvia. We can tell how well the owners are with their employees based on how well their customer service is. Let me just say great job. We've been here a few times already, and every single time the food is good and the service is great. The chicken is perfectly grilled with the perfect seasoning too.
