We've been to Domo Sushi several times and always enjoy the food. The sushi is fresh, flavorful, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. They have a really large selection of rolls, so it's easy to try something new each visit. The ambiance is comfortable with a good amount of seating both at the sushi bar and in the dining area, making it a nice place to sit and enjoy your meal. The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review is that the service can be a bit hit or miss depending on how busy they are. Overall, a solid go-to sushi spot we keep coming back to.

I'm trying to raspberry iced tea today, tastes pretty good, little sweeter than I would like, but it's great anyway. I got the firecracker and some miso soup to go along with it. Everything was pretty good, except the wasabi, they didn't have any fresh. Didn't ruin the mail, but I really like nice fresh wasabi. Service was good today, it was nice and quiet.

Can't remember what this was, but it was very slimy.

This was the Hamachi Kama I ordered at my last visit. Disappointing, to say the least. The other photo, I can't remember if it was part of the Kama or sushi. Needless to say, it was not appetizing.

Haven't been here in several years. I was surprised as 2 only other customers in the restaurant. We had the domo combo that had California rolls and spicy tuna roll and some bigger crab meat rolls. We also had the dynamite that my grandson didn't finish and didn't like the taste. He said it was different than other sushi restaurants. All in all it was an ok lunch and pricey at 45.00 with tip

2nd time here and it was even better than the first time! Tiger Roll and Salmon Sashimi - amazing! Specials were a bonus. 50% off Cut Rolls (I went for the classic California) and the Special Rolls (Tiger) were 30% off! Service was incredible as well! My Santee sushi spot! Cheers!

This is how my yellowtail arrived.

We came on a Thursday night. Normally there would be more guests but there were only 4 other tables filled. The new staff is NOT trained. For example; My husband ordered sashimi and rice. The sashimi came out 10 min after. He had to ask for his rice to be warmed because by the time he got his sashimi, the rice was cold. The staff approaches the table with rolls in hand and says what they are while they're still 3 feet away. We all had to say "what?" After each roll. Approach the table, get to the table, then announce what you have! We have ordered yellow tail sashimi for the past 13 years here. The yellow tail i just ordered tonight was so thin and a small order, see pictures. The teriyaki sauce had SO much soy in it, and was not sweet at all. The miso soup had no tofu in it. We orders 7, the bowls that had tofu were pieces smaller than a green pea. Kids typically enjoy miso for the tofu chunks. Skimping out on tofu, really? We were not given wasabi and ginger which is pretty basic. When you have a party with kids, put in the kids food order first! This was our second time eating here since the staff has changed and we are so bummed!

Domo is amazing! The staff here works so hard to make sure you have a great experience. The food is delicious and when you dine in you get discounts on your rolls! Highly recommended this place

Still an absolute staple for us! It's our GO-TO East County sushi spot. The food and service is 100% consistent. We've never had a bad meal here. Date night, when friends or fam are in town, we got to DOMO

Sorry folks. I cannot give a 100% review. I did not get to taste the food. We came here on a Sunday. It was not full. But in 5 to 8 min, the place got packed. We were seated right away. But it too a while to get a menu. The servers seem very polite, there just not enough of them. There is really only 1 server and one chef. So unfortunately you can tell they were overwhelmed. We did not get to order because of this issue. So I ended up leaving. I will come back and hopefully have a new review. By the way, the ambiance is nice, with a traditional Japanese look. Oh the restaurant does have a weird fish smell. Yes, I know it's a sushi spot, but I don't think you should be smelling that.

    Katsu chicken is super thin!!!

The edamame and miso soup are also great appetizers to start with. The prices are a bit high, so we tend to come here more for special occasions or date nights, but the quality makes it worth it. Overall it's a great spot with consistent service and really good sushi.

When our first waiter came by, he took our drink order and then it honestly seemed like he forgot about us. About 10 minutes later, another waitress came over asking for our drink order, and we let her know someone had already taken it but hadn't come back yet. We were seated at a hibachi table and most of us ordered the filet mignon medium. The steak itself was tasty, but there were SO many garlic pieces on top, it was honestly a lot of garlic. The fried rice was okay, nothing really special, just egg, rice, and butter. We all received vegetables except my brother-in-law, and unfortunately nobody noticed or fixed it. The restaurant also felt a little dark and cramped inside, especially once it got busier. What felt awkward though was that by around 4:30 PM, the manager came over and basically told us they needed the table because they had more reservations waiting. We were already finishing up eating, but it had only been about an hour since we sat down. For a party of 8 on Mother's Day, it just felt rushed since most places usually allow at least an hour and a half. Overall, the food was decent and the hibachi experience was still fun, but the service and feeling rushed at the end made the experience a little uncomfortable.

The dish overall was solid; good amount of spice, plenty of meat//veggies and a flavorful sauce that complimented it all. One of the workers also came by and just randomly gave me a Thai tea and said it was on the house. The Thai tea itself was good as well, just the right balance of milk, sugar and tea. My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday, and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The restaurant was spotless, peaceful, and the food came out incredibly fast, which was exactly what we needed after a day of travel recovery. One thing I really enjoyed was the unique combination of pho and sushi on the menu. I've had plenty of each separately around San Diego, but this is the first place I've personally experienced offering both under one roof. It's a great option when you're craving something warm and comforting but also want a few fresh sushi rolls. I ordered the Philadelphia Roll. I typically prefer avocado over cucumber in my rolls, so I would have loved that swap, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. I also ordered a bowl of pho, which was exactly what I needed that day: warm and comforting. Nothing overly fancy, just a solid bowl that delivered on the comfort-food front. Between the clean atmosphere, quick service, and the ability to satisfy both my sushi and pho cravings in one visit, Bamboo Pho & Sushi was a great lunch stop.
