In one case they just cancelled the order and in another case, I got a notification that the food was delivered but never got it. Grub Hub called them and said it was an error. This was about 2 hours after I ordered. Finally, I figured I'd go pick it up. Ordered it on Yelp. Went to the restaurant after about an hour and they said, "Someone already picked up your order." They did offer to make it for me there, but I couldn't wait around. The place itself is pretty sparse but clean. I think the food is a 4 but the overall experience from a service standpoint is a 2. Average it out to a 3.

The 2, thin sliced chicken breasts on the sandwich were overcooked. Chicken Coop attempted to make the Nashville sandwich look more substantial by using a huge bun. please put away the cleaning, rag and spray cleaner in the cabinet in the bathroom instead of leaving it out. It doesn't make a nice impression. Trash cans throughout the restaurant needed emptying, which would've been a good time because they were not busy.

The owner Rudy told us his whole story about how he opened a restaurant in February 2020 that closed 5 weeks later due to COVID, and what a financial and emotional hardship that was. Now, he is the new owner of Blue Taco in a "it's meant to be" kismet story that brought him full circle. Rudy's cocktails are super - he is trying to win Best Cocktail in Westchester this year. The signature drink "Mariachi" was made him habanero-infused tequila (Rudy does it himself!), passion fruit, lime juice and chia seeds. It is inspired by his grandmother, who passed from COVID. The drink definitely had a kick - usually when I order a spicy drink it's not spicy enough but this one was PERFECT. The passion fruit balanced it nicely. I also ordered the Avocado Lady. It was served in a beautiful coupe glass. You can have it with gin, tequila, or mezcal (I opted mezcal), with avocado, agave, and orange liquor. It was so refreshing and would go perfectly with a spicy meal. For our special YELP event, Rudy had tequilas and mezcals out for us to taste - this was super generous (and probably costly to him!) and fun. Since we were here for an event, it was trays of appetizer foods, buffet-style. We had 2 types of quesadillas (cheese only, and chicken), beef empanadas, chicken taquitos, tortilla chips, and jalapeno poppers. Everything was cooked SO well and was so delicious. Rudy informed us he has chefs in the kitchen (not cooks), one of which used to work at Tres Amigos in Mahopac. Rudy's inspiring story about his family and his vision for Blue Taco was so special to hear. I wish him and the staff the best of luck and will be back for sure to try some more of their entrees and cocktails.
