All these years and I just found a gem of a restaurant and I am glad that I did! The food was fresh, flavorful and clearly made with care. 9/17/19-- back DOWN to a whopping 3 stars. Don't go late at night to Catania's. I'm now discouraged. Won't be back so quickly THIS time. Wasn't informed they were soon to close. Got served a doughy, dried under heated slice of pizza. Only to reheat once I arrived shortly home. I called them back-- no sorry for the inconvenience or receive a better one next time. Fantastic pizza. Crust is a perfect balance of crisp and chew; delicious to the last bite (even for those who don't usually finish the crust)! First time here, we ordered the "Pizza Extravaganza," since it was advertised as "all of our standard ingredients" and we were hungry. The result was fantastic and every bite was delicious, but it seemed we might be missing some of the "everything" ingredients. Nothing green, for example. Guys? Adjust your "Extravaganza" listing to be specific about what ingredients will be on the pie. No worries. The pizza was delicious and we will be back. +++ P.S. There were some early reviews here on Yelp about rude staff, slow service and takeout order failures that almost stopped me from visiting. I did not experience any of these issues. Went there for wings and pizza and when I got home, one of my wings had so many feathers on them they probably could've flown away. As you can see from the picture, there's no way you could've missed that in the cooking process, and that's exactly what I was told that it was taken out of a bag and put in a deep fryer and probably went unnoticed. . I read a lot of good reviews about this place so we decided to give it a try and ordered meatball calzone and chicken Parm calzones. Neither my husband nor I liked them at all - the filling was basically just chop meat for the meatball one - I felt like I was eating some kind of weird tasting sloppy Joe. Can't say much for the food as even though the website told us our order was delivered and the money was taken we certainly never received it. It was halloween, we were having a few people so I pre ordered this pizza before noon the day of so it would arrive in time... it didn't. The door dash app told me that they do their own deliveries and so had to call them, we called and called and called al evening and no answer. I would read some reviews citing the same type of thing on other days and that they were told they were actually closed but it was a computer glitch- maybe this is the case but if it has happened before you would think you would try to avoid it happening again. I don't like to leave negative reviews but my advice would just be to call to place your order and have a human confirm it will come. read more

I'll upgrade when they actually use wood in the wood fired oven. This is gross misrepresentation. Wood fired food has a different taste then gas. They have a huge clearly written on the boards WOOD FIRED MENU. That's a big no. Pizza people look for wood fired. You just opened up in area that has more pizza places then gas stations. Good luck. Stopped in on a Monday night around 7 PM. Honestly not much in the display cases. Will say the staff was very friendly and willing to make a whole pie or a sandwich if we wanted. We had a half of a chicken Parm Stromboli and a half of an eggplant rolls Toni Stromboli and a meatball calzone which was more like a meatball empanada! Everything was good. With the amount of pizza places in the area I think you need to be great! The interior was a bit dingy. I'm not sure about social distancing since there was only one other customer other than us in there that night. It did not look like they wiped down the tables after customers left and there was no hand sanitizer. Would be interested to try their pizza before I make my final decision. read more

They don't even deserve the one lonely star. Ordered at 5:23, it got here at 7:10. Do I live in Albany? No. Do I live in a menacing lair accessible only by riding a shark? Nope. I live 6 minutes from the place. I called at the 1 hr mark, the hour twenty mark, and the hour forty mark. Each I time was told it would be there " momentarily ." Of course, when the pizza arrived it was cold, with congealed cheese and a crust that tasted what amazon packaging must taste like. And....they got the order on one of the pizzas wrong. Late, cold, and wrong. That's the Crap Pizza Trifecta, baby! They eventually refunded the charge, which was a okay thing to do. A ever better thing to do would be to run your business competently. So we went to check out the famous calzones. Were they delicious - absolutely. Great flavor and filled with cheese. They were also TINY and cost $4 each!! Calzones at other places which are at lease 3 times the size are $6. I wont call it a rip off since they were fabulous, but people in Yorktown are notoriously cheap, so I doubt they will have repeat business. As for the pizza. Meh. Sicilian was sub par. Dough was dense. Sauce lacked flavor. Other slices were just ok as well. Heard that they finally have a larger menu but didn't see one. Might try again. I think that when you have have a TON of competition, you need to amp up the flavor and price it right. But good luck to them. They are on the right track. read more

I've went to their Yonkers location once before, a few years back. I had their calzone, and it was unforgettable. When we saw that they were opening up on Mohegan Lake, my wife and I were overly excited. Their calzones are still amazing. Yes, the are small, but they are the perfect amount of thin crust, and overly stuffed. One or 2 will fill you up no problem. Their margarita pizza was great. Nice, thin crust. We've also had their Mushroom Truffle pizza, and it was delicious, although the crust was a little more doughy than I expected. It's not Neapolitan style like we expected. Not the fault of the restaurant, but we thought it would be more like the margarita pizza. I REALLY liked their wings. Wood fired, nice and crispy. Sauce was good too. If I had to have any complaint, it would be the restaurant itself is a little bare. They are (from what I understand) still in their soft opening, so it makes sense. That and their menu is a little bare compared to the other pizzerias in the area, but again - soft opening. We used to go to Nonnas in Peekskill all the time, but since we've moved to Mohegan Lake, this pizzeria gives it a run for its money. The pricing is better here though! read more

First time that's ever happened to me at an Italian restaurant, called and was made aware you can add it on for an additional cost (so had to make pasta at home lol). A lot of the pizza in the Cortlandt/Peekskill/Mohegan Lake area is very average, in my opinion. Catania's makes a good, solid pie that stands out from the rest. The mini calzones are what they are known for at their Yonkers location and they are pretty good. My favorite is the meatball calzone. The wings here are also surprisingly good and they make a clam pie that can hold its own, although you must dine in when you get it because once it goes in the box it loses its luster. Catania's has established themselves as my go-to pizza joint. read more
