They have updated the bar and the dining room. The wood is lighter. The bar doesn't smell like old beer any more. We get there at 11:30. By noon, there's already a long wait. Service is friendly. The chicken wings are a top three rendition. We always order ours crispy. They stopped serving celery on the side a while ago. As a purist, I bring a ziplock bag of celery sticks. I say raise the price of an order of wings by 50 cents and serve celery again! The waffle fries are great. They have a surprisingly diverse menu with a big selection of beers. There are desserts, but I have never been disciplined enough to save room. It's cash only. This is the platonic ideal of a burger and wing joint. Set the celery sticks free!

Still consistently delicious. Large meaty wings and drummies, connected. Lots of sauce, to the point when you break them apart, there's a lot of splatter (I think I hit a kid with some sauce about two tables away). Service very good, prices comparable to other wing places. I asked my waiter how many pounds they sold on Super Bowl Sunday. He mentioned "between 18 and 19 thousand pounds!!!" Wow, double wow. Vast majority are ordered in advance and this year they cut off orders about a week before the game. This trip was a solo run for me. My wingmen were nowhere to be found. 4 very sloppy stars

This isn't just another stop at your…read morelocal chicken joint, it's the kind of meal that makes you wish you had an ice-cold beer in hand to go with it. We've driven past Don Chicken plenty of times saying, "We have to try this," and on a Friday night we finally made it our date night. The spot itself is simple, with plenty of parking, and fully focused on serving must-try Korean fried chicken. I walked in ready to order one of everything, but the cashier quickly realized I was new and helped narrow it down to chicken, dumplings, and an order of fries. Let me be clear, if you're picturing small buffalo-style wings from a local wing spot, reset your expectations. These were full-size wings. We ordered them plain and soy-glazed, and both were excellent. The dumplings, also soy-glazed, were just as good. From the first bite, the crunch and flavor hit immediately. It wakes up your senses and makes you realize this isn't just chicken. You can taste the care that goes into the prep, and it absolutely shows. Despite being busy, the service was friendly and attentive, which always makes the experience better. When we finished eating, it looked like we barely made a dent, plenty of leftovers that were happily enjoyed by the family later at home. If I could change one thing, it would be having a beer to pair with the meal, but that's a minor detail. This is a quality spot and an easy go-to for Korean fried chicken in the Hudson Valley. 5/5 stars.

I've gotten it a few times and always a good meal. Fries are excellent as well. However, I said earlier, "When I have gotten the food..." This doesn't always happen. I've ordered from them about 7 times and have only actually gotten the food 4 times. Twice, I ordered on Yelp for delivery. In one case they just cancelled the order and in another case, I got a notification that the food was delivered but never got it. Grub Hub called them and said it was an error. This was about 2 hours after I ordered. Finally, I figured I'd go pick it up. Ordered it on Yelp. Went to the restaurant after about an hour and they said, "Someone already picked up your order." They did offer to make it for me there, but I couldn't wait around. The place itself is pretty sparse but clean. I think the food is a 4 but the overall experience from a service standpoint is a 2. Average it out to a 3.

It was two slices of thin, cut breast over brown and coated with an immense amount of breading that slid right off the chicken. They should've just called it a breading on a bun sandwich. I understand restaurants wanting to save money during these trying times but this was unacceptable. They could have done better by using three chicken tenders and would've had substantially more protein in the sandwich and it would've been the same food cost. The 2, thin sliced chicken breasts on the sandwich were overcooked. Chicken Coop attempted to make the Nashville sandwich look more substantial by using a huge bun. please put away the cleaning, rag and spray cleaner in the cabinet in the bathroom instead of leaving it out. It doesn't make a nice impression. Trash cans throughout the restaurant needed emptying, which would've been a good time because they were not busy.

After eating there, I can confidently say Doug, your pub makes pretty good food. Our party of four was seated at a high-top, and the feasting began. They've got a great beer selection and took care of us right away. Food-wise, we started with the chicken wings, which were huge and packed with flavor. For me, the main event was the original patty melt. You know when something tastes homemade, but in the absolute best way possible? That was this burger. It was hot, juicy, and dripping with flavor, with perfectly caramelized onions and melted cheese. What really made it work was the bread, it still had a crunch instead of turning soggy. Every dip into the Thousand Island just made it better. The onion rings were a perfect sidekick. Around the table, my brother-in-law went with the Nutty Hog and enjoyed it, my sister liked her quesadilla, and my wife was happy with her chicken. No complaints anywhere. You know how I feel about local spots, and this place was full of charm and character. The drinks were cold, the food was solid, and I'll absolutely be back. 5/5 stars

The burgers are served on English muffins, which I've never seen before. I'm not the biggest fan of English muffins, but it seemed to be their specialty, I figured I'd try it and I'm glad I did! It was, as the restaurant name suggests, pretty good! I got The Burger and added pepperjack, which was exactly what it was needed. This was a great place to stop in for a casual but good lunch on a cold day walking around Cold Spring.
