It just gets better & better! Since my last review I've been back 3 times for lunch and tonight was dinner! Patti the co-owner came to our table and we talked food, plus when she found out I like Margaritas she made one personally for me that was "Smokin Goooood" We started off with wings (medium heat) which were plump & tasty with just the right amount of heat. We also had corn chowder that was totally homemade and delish. I had one of the specials a chicken panini (Oh do I love their Paninis) with spinach, mozzarella and an awesome sauce. The Mrs. had Patti's Favorite Salad and added grilled chicken, fresh, plenty of food and totally healthy. My buddy who was celebrating an anniversary had the Firehouse Burger (Photos to follow) All were well prepared, fresh and tasty. This place absolutely has the best burgers around, not to mention awesome homemade onion rings! I was in the neighborhood so I stopped by for some drinks outside with my dog. Drinks are fabulous and strong! The waitress was extremely friendly and nice. We ended up ordering some garlic Parmesan wings, which were crispy and delicious. Sat outside at the picnic tables in front, it was very relaxing. They even put a dish of water out for my dog! I will be back for a nice lunch sometime soon. read more

This place has been around for years and I remember being in high school and thinking it looked like a cool spot once I could finally drink hahahah They used to host bands but with covid things have changed up a bit. Was happy to find a place so close to me that had exactly what I was looking for, the basic burger and some fries. I found myself walking into a dark, dingy seedy-looking place that smelled like marijuana. Felt like Plankton when he ventured into that low-brow dive, looking for thugs to help him steal the Krabby Patty formula. Chose PJs, or Patti and Jay, for lunch. First visit. Enjoyed burger platter, cooked exactly as requested with tasty onion rings. Hmmmm, well HOW do I word this one? Well, for one, they DO have a decent selection of apps to choose from. Of course, being barfood, some may be greasy but that comes with the territory. Bartender paid close attention to the customers and their orders. Now, on the other hand, maybe a little too much. All too often saw her reach below the bar into a large white plastic medicine bottle. As another "coincidence" saw a customer say he had a headache, left briefly, and he returned(too fast for having bought it)a medicine bottle. Hmmm This place needs to be CONDEMNED and the ppl in it. Well... My husband and I just moved to the area and decided to check out this place. We walked in and it immediately smelled of cigars and cigarettes (strike 1). We sat down after being told we could sit wherever, and saw one waitress apologizing to a table of 10+ for all their wrong orders (strike 2). This hidden gem up Rt. 6 has the best bar food you can have! They take their food very serious, so it is always fresh and good. I've eaten here well over a dozen times and always try something new. There are also tables to sit down and eat at, if eating at the bar isn't your thing. I had their black & blue burger, which was topped with fried onions & blue cheese. I didn't want to move, that's how tasty this thing was. Steak is delicious, wings are fresh, pasta, burgers, everything is great. The place is fine and definitely gives you that hole in the wall feel that we all look for. Our bartenders were really nice but you definitely have some characters there. My wife and I just moved in the area and were checking out the local scene so we tried pjs for some drinks. The drinks and bartenders were fine but there was some random guy there legitimately trying to sell us a pack of newports he had just found on the floor. Not sure if he worked there or not but he was behind the bar talking to everyone. That is disgusting, but everyone around us seemed fine with it so maybe it's the norm. Every time we have eaten at PJs has been a really good experience. The staff are super friendly and make you feel at home right away. The menu is a nice selection of burgers plus some standard pub food. The burger and panini selection is a nice mix of flavors- we've tried a few of each and have not been disappointed! The fries are always fresh, the meat is always juicy, the service always attentive and friendly. Oh, and the live music is definitely worth hanging around for...thumbs UP! read more

Possibly the most underrated restaurant I've ever seen. Most people I know who live in the area for decades have never even tried it. It is definitely a hole in the wall, dive bar type atmosphere but the food is really good and affordable. They do specials every day (1/2 price burgers on Tuesdays, for instance) and the service is usually very good considering how busy the waitresses are - usually there's only 1-2 waitresses for the entire place and at lunch time the lone bartender also waits tables. Some go-to options are the buffalo wings (easily the best wings in town), burgers (always cooked perfectly to order and very juicy) and nachos (huge portion). It's usually very empty when I go except on Tuesdays (for half-price burgers). The owner is usually present and she's very sweet - regularly checking in with customers and being excellent with kids. Definitely a no-frills place but awesome for a casual meal with the family at a very affordable price. read more

The first time I came here to get burgers I was blown away by how good they were. The second time I came here for burgers I was disappointed and dissatisfied. I don't mind paying $10+ for a burger when it's good. But when it comes out as mediocre as they have them here, i would at least like some fries with my burger. Took a chance on a Wednesday evening. My boyfriend loves wings so it worked out in our favor since Wednesday is 1/2 wings! After reading several reviews we went with the raved about burgers. He got a Taco burger and it was cooked perfectly. He even said it's the best burger he has had in a long time! I had the California burger (turkey) with cheese and it was nice. I couldn't decide on waffle fries or onion rings so the server made it easy and gave me 1/2 and 1/2! I felt like a kid in a candy store (it's the little things). It's quaint inside, a smaller dining in area with a larger bar area. They have a pool table and several large screen televisions. Wings were plump and delicious! If I could give this restaurant a -1 star I would. The food was terrible. The pork in my pulled pork sandwich was fatty, chewy, and seemed like it was sitting around for days. My son's hamburger was obviously frozen and came out burnt. Thank god he is 5 and doesn't know what a good burger tastes like. At least he enjoyed his meal. My daughter didn't touch her microwaved Mac & cheese. My wife and I were nauseous the entire night. We will NEVER be going back. I came here with my family spur of the moment for dinner. Definitely a convenient choice because there was no wait to sit, we could just pick a table anywhere and seat ourselves. The service was great in the sense that our waiter was very friendly and welcoming. The appetizers were large and tasty as well as our dinner choices. The only reason I took away 1 star from this review is because we waited a pretty long time for everything. It took about 15 minutes just to get our sodas & cocktails, it took another 25/30 minutes for appetizers-*wings & nachos* (we ordered our dinner when we ordered our appetizers) and then an additional 20 minutes for our dinner. However, when we finally did get to eat all of our food, none of it disappointed! I'd probably come here again but only for the bar and probably the nachos. read more

My husband and I have lived in Yorktown Heights for close to 9 years and PJ's is our go-to restaurant. It is one of our absolute favorite places to eat. Service is always attentive and friendly. The owners, Patti and Jay are warm and welcoming. Their burgers are the BEST. Always fresh, high quality meat and cooked to perfection. Another favorite is the Nachos Supreme made with homemade chili. Buffalo Chicken wrap, Grilled Monterey Jack, Potato Skins,... everything I have had has been delicious. I have to admit, I rarely stray from the above listed, since they are all so awesome. They also have various daily specials and have 1/2 price wing night and 1/2 price burger night. This place has the best food for the price anywhere near Somers or Mahopac. My son and I go there on Tuesdays whenever we are both free for the half-price burgers. Their burgers are excellent, and very affordable even at regular prices (mostly $8-$9), but on half-price Tuesdays you really get a deal (I actually feel so guilty I always tip the waitress really well to make up for feeling like I stole the food!). Their finger food and draft beer are very good, too - years ago, when I played sports locally, I used to go their afterwards with friends, and we'd pig out on potato skins, nachos, and the like. My boyfriend and I just moved in to the area and gave Pj's a try. I had the taco burger which I liked very much and my boyfriend had a melt which he wasn't thrilled with. He said it tasted "plain." My boyfriend went back again for 1/2 off burgers on Tuesday and he said his burger was great and loved that he had a beer and burger for $10.
