Meh... This place didn't do anything for me. It may have been what I ordered. I was craving biscuits and gravy for breakfast and it was pretty gross. I only ate it because I was really hungry and knew that we weren't going to be stopping anywhere on our ride back home until we hit Pismo and I couldn't wait that long. The biscuits weren't fresh as I've had them at other restaurants. It would have been cool even if they weren't freshly baked- these just tasted old and not too good. The gravy, I thought didn't taste that great either. I was disappointed. The bagel my friend ordered was burnt. How the hell do you mess that up? Lol. My boyfriend ordered menudo. I might be biased because I think Mexican breakfast is second to none, but Domingo's Cafe was great. We came in with a group of 9 and they had 2 big tables set up in case a big group like ours came in. The food came out quick and the wait staff was very kind and helpful. I had the Chorizo breakfast burrito and a cup of coffee. The burrito was loaded with flavor and I may have had 3+ cups of the fresh coffee. A few of my friends got the enchiladas with eggs on top (which is the reason we came here after seeing a photo of that on yelp). I don't think any of them left a scrap of food on their plate. Domingo's is definitely worth stopping in whether you're heading to/from UCSB or ending a weekend camping up the 154 like we were. read more

Was out in Santa Barbara for the weekend and decided to go to this place before heading back to Los Angeles. Wow! This place is like home. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Right now during this pandemic they have outdoor seating and it was so homey and nice specially with that SB weather. We were treated like part of the family and the food was the cherry on top. We absolutely loved everything about this cafe and we are making it part of our Santa Barbara must go to places when we visit again soon. read more

Ach, the local breakfast place. While I've always tried to go to a local breakfast joint when I'm on vacation, I don't think I've found that many that impressed me. Not that the food wasn't fulfilling, but...if I can make the food as good as theirs, why go to their place and skip out on another restaurant? On the bright side, their potato hash is a notch above the average place. I stopped in for breakfast. I had the enchiladas and eggs. I was expecting a smaller set of enchiladas with some eggs sharing the plate. What I got was a full size dinner plate of enchiladas, rice, beans, salad with two eggs on top. It was delicious. The enchiladas were pure perfection and the eggs (scrambled as requested) were exactly right, fluffy, and neither funny nor overcooked. The plate is served with salsa and pico de gallo on the side. The pico was excellent with just the right amount of spice. The salsa was a medium mild salsa roja (red salsa). Both were delicious. Highly recommended. read more

This is a pretty typical neighborhood "greasy spoon" type dinner. It's no frills and straight to the point. There are two entrances, a street one and one that is in the back (where the parking lot is), but I don't think it matters which entrance you use. There isn't a host stand so you'll probably just walk in and awkwardly stand around like we did. We went close to breakfast time and the menu was a combination of classic breakfast hits and some "brunchy" type options. It was also a mix of both American and Mexican classics. It's a pretty big menu, so it might take a few gazes to figure out what you want. I think we were all satisfied with our meals. I ordered an omelette of some sort that came with potatoes and toast. My cousin ordered a chicken tender sandwich that she was cool with. The portions are pretty big, of course. This is a great place to visit if you have picky eaters or people that like a simple breakfast. read more

Came here for New Year's breakfast. Since so many other places were closed when I called, was glad that this place was open. I ordered the Chef's special (french toast, 1 egg and bacon) with a side of hashbrowns. My friends ordered the pancake special (with an egg and bacon) and the country breakfast (eggs, biscuits & gravy, home potatoes, and bacon). I received 6 pieces of french toast. Granted, it was basically regular toast with egg, but it was a mound of food! The hash browns were crispy and good. The country breakfast was also sizable. And while one friend preferred his home potatoes to my hash browns, his biscuits and gravy were a little too cold and the bacon a little too overcooked for our liking. What a friendly family run restaurant. We are first timers here and came here for a low key breakfast. When asked what the specials were, they bought the portable sign to our table. Tomas, our server was very helpful and welcomed us to the restaurant. Don't see that type of hospitality too often. Food was good, I had the eggs (ordered egg whites only) with fresh corn on top of hash browns topped with country gravy. Yummy. I asked for a bowl of fresh fruit and it was artistically arranged with a perimeter of fresh sliced strawberries. (see photo). I really did not expect such attention to detail, but the fruit bowl was gorgeous Monica who is part of the family stopped by to ask how everything was. I noticed in the restaurant they make party trays and homemade tamales (requires 48 hour notice). The restaurant is full of only Santa Barbara posters and picture highlights from the olden days. I came here on an early Sunday morning no thanks to its high ranking on yelp. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things but the food was honestly not worth the money. I spent $50 + $10 tip on mediocre French toast which was sooo dry & their country breakfast which consisted of frozen biscuits and an unseasoned gravy sprinkled with what seemed to be those cheap awful precooked bacon strips that any normal person usually stays away from at the grocery store. Even the orange juice was disappointing. The only slightly desirable things were the extra crispy hash brown that I ordered on the side because you cant really mess up potatoes and a fruit cup that I know was fresh because I saw the waitress cutting up the fruit. I do not live in the area so I definitely wont be returning, but if I'm ever in SB again i'll remember to take my business elsewhere. Save your money, no place should be charging this much for frozen food. The only reason I even tipped was because it was a to go order & the waitress ringing me up was a very sweet older lady. read more

Bottom Line: Their Breakfast game is strong. Their lunch game...not so much I have to downgrade to three stars based on the tacos I just had for lunch, especially considering that they were $11. This plate was not great. The tacos were bland, uninteresting and uninspired. The rice and beans were totally par for the course. It was the equivalent of going into a sandwich spot, ordering and getting a sandwich the brick of obviously, prepackaged meat like you get from Vons. If I can easily make it at home, and its no better than I make at home, what's the point? There are a half dozen other places right around here with some serious taco game, for less money. read more

My fiancé and I decided to come here after a walk on the beach this morning. We're visiting from Los Angeles so we wanted to drop by a diner/café type of breakfast spot. I found Domingos on Yelp and we were not disappointed! We came around 9:30am on a Sunday during the Labor Day weekend, and there were a good amount of customers inside but still plenty of seats open. I ordered the chicken enchilada omelet and my fiancé got the chicken enchilada with two eggs (I secretly loved his dish slightly more than mine). They were both excellent dishes!! I especially LOVED my hash browns! I usually don't order hash browns because every time I have, they were bland. But my fiancé and I dug into my hash browns, and kept wanting more and more. YUMMM!! This place has a sweet, relaxed, homey restaurant feel, that seems to be family-owned. The service was quite excellent too. Our orders came out pretty quickly, about 5-7 minutes, which I was thrilled about! Our server was very sweet and attentive. She came by multiple times to check on us to see if we needed anything. I also saw and overheard other servers going around asking if customers wanted refills or needed anything. We highly recommend Domingos whether you're local or visiting from out of town! I really wanted to like this place. The reviews looked decent, and I was looking for a place to get some brunch with my girlfriend. Unfortunately, the experience was bad all around. The waitress was very snarky and hurried us up because they were gonna close soon (20 minutes). I've been to a couple of different places when they're about to close and have never gotten this rushed treatment. But I figured the food had to be great. Not so! Both the beans and the hash-browns had a distinct aftertaste like they had been cooked in old oil. It was a pretty pungent taste. Not easy to dismiss. The only thing that was good was the pancakes and I've definitely had better at iHOP. My huevos ranchers were ok. Nothing to brag about. Not memorable in any sense. My girlfriend couldn't finish her food because of the hash-browns flavor and the fact that the omelette had onions which she's allergic to, after the waitress stated the omelette contained no onions. And to boot, it was almost $40. That's insane. The restaurant was pretty empty and closed at 2pm. And I can see why. I can see this place going out of business soon enough if they don't get their act together. Needless to say I won't be coming back here. read more

Many fond memories of this wonderful breakfast spot. Growing up, my family would dine here nearly every Sunday morning. Domingo's eventually became a staple to us, and we still come here as a family when everyone is in town. This is a family-run establishment with food as good as the service. The waitstaff are all familiar faces to me, and I know that I'll be taken care of whenever I dine here. Their "specials" menu changes frequently and typically features customized recipes of an assortment of breakfast meals, all of which are amazingly good. I typically opt for a special, but their vast breakfast food menu features quality fare - a selection of omelettes along with American and Mexican-themed items. Prices are good for the quality and quantity. Yum! The decor is nothing special and a bit on the cluttered side, but there are a number of old Goleta photos on the wall which I think are pretty neat. The restaurant has always been clean, and the tables are always bussed promptly. Come here if you're seeking out a true locals' breakfast spot with delicious food and stellar service! Out of respect for your time, let me just say this about Domingo's Cafe (DC) in Goleta (don't ask how I found this place): 1. DC offers some of the finest diner food known to mankind. Unbelievablely good and always fresh and made to order. 2. Chris, the grill man for 20+ years, is one of the best cooks you'll ever come across...he knows how to sober you up in mere moments. 3. DC's vibe is like you just walked in to a Midwest diner at 2pm. Semi-full, couple of regulars, and there's 1970's wood everywhere. 4. It's clean and you can marinate for as long as you want sobering up, filling up, or just chilling out. 5. Did I mention that the food is OTFRS? (Off The Fucking Richter Scale) DC is worth the road trip unless you just so happen to live in Old Town Goleta...which means you have problems...BIG problems. Regardless, just be prepared to score a room afterwards because you will be loaded with goo for hours...and will love every moment of it. Cheers! read more

Ok you have to come here for a breakfast burrito. I wish I could have sat and dined in but we had to rush to a graduation at UCSB. We came in to grab to go breakfast/lunch items. I am a sucker for breakfast in general so of course I went for the breakfast burrito. My goodness it was so good. 50%egg 15% cheese 15% potato and %20 bacon. But wait, it gets better. The home made salsa kicks ass! It added the perfect heat to this already delicious burrito! This is like the clean cut alternative to Alphie's across the street. Both are miles better than anything in Santa Barbara for low smug, low price, high quality breakfast eats. Go to Alphie's if you're young, want a great cheap meal, and are in to greasy spoons.
