My boyfriend and I WERE going to go to domingo's today to have some lunch. We parked in the chapala/ domingo's parking lot, ( makes most sense to park there since Domingos is right there ) however we had to stop by O'Reilly when one of your employees ( he was wearing domingo's sweater) yelled at us and started saying we couldn't cross the street if we parked there and that he would call the towing company. I've lived in Goleta MY WHOLE LIFE. My grandpa lives in the neighborhood behind Chapala and Domingos, and never in my life have i been yelled at or disrespected like that. Never going back there, my boyfriend and I will be going elsewhere for our food rather than this place. unacceptable read more

An O.G. West Coast Diner. A lot bigger on the inside than it looks along the Main Street. Food is a mix of Traditional diner fare and Mexican food as well. Their forte is breakfast and I was happy with my omelette and hash browns. Also coffee (as previously mentioned) very good. Service was fast and extremely pleasant. I love Domingo's... the food, the employees, Monica and her family, the old timey diner atmosphere, everything! It was the first place I ever had Saturday breakfast when I moved to Goleta 5 years ago, and I try to go every weekend. I've always been treated like a close friend from the beginning and feel welcome every time I walk in for my weekly visit. Other Yelpers make me crazy with their reviews... especially the ones that start with something like: "Let me just start by saying I've been coming here ALL MY LIFE, so it breaks my heart to have to leave a negative review..." Where are those reviewers first reviews in support of how amazing the place is, especially if they've been coming "all their life"? Domingo's Cafe is known to have great Brunch entrees and I walk by this place often because it's near my work. We came with a group of about 8 friends and the server did a great job of servicing all of us. I ordered the Double Ortega Burger which was a decent burger but nothing special. I did enjoy the pepper but the meat was average and I was disappointed that I only got one pickle and a tiny slice of avocado on the burger, the patties were small so I feel like it was overpriced. I'm willing to give this restaurant another shot someday since breakfast is their forte and not burgers, my friends' entrees looked delicious so I'm still enthusiastic. read more

Not sure how this place has high ratings. Walking in through the back lot you are greeted with a toilet sewer smell. It's so potent it almost was enough for us to loose our appetite. We sat ourselves- per the sign. We were given menus and it took about 5 minutes for someone to take our order. I ordered the menudo. A Sunday morning staple. I tasted the broth and I want to say it tasted almost canned. There was no flavor, no spice. Super bland. Soup was lukewarm. They used lemons instead of limes. A little odd. The pancakes were tough to cut through. Nothing special They are pancakes. Server came to check on us once. All in all. This place is lackluster and food is nothing special. Our friend brought us here for breakfast before we hit the road out of town and even though it looks small, it was quite a good space. The parking lot is a hit or miss, we got lucky and found d a spot as someone was pulling out. You can enter from the back or front but we entered from the back and were not sure where to go to get someone to seat us, maybe a future suggestion to tell people to go up front or find a table. Anyways the service was slow, our friend told us that's how it is, its great food but you have to wait and when the waitress comes you tell them everything you want in one swoop. So we did and had books and crayons for our little one, got our drinks and then finally the food and they were huge portions and delicious!!!! I had a special that was that day and our friends got some mexican breakfast plates and our little one got a pancake with eggs and potatoes and we all ate until we couldn't anymore. I came across this place while on business in Goleta. I had to take my lunch and it was only about 10, so I didn't want to quite do a lunch place. The location was easy to find, parking not too bad, although I did go at an irregular time. I got the Santa Barbara omelette. It was pretty alright. The portion itself was huge, but the omelette was pretty watery. There wasn't much cheese and really not much flavor either. The hashbrowns get a whole star themselves, those were quite amazing. The hot chocolate wasn't bad either! The water tasted like it came from the gutter, which is why I ended up ordering hot chocolate so that I actually had something to drink. I fell in love with this out of the way local diner. It was built in a former post office and run by a local family this is amazing. My husband and I both enjoyed our meals immensely but were more impressed with the service. Lots of checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Refills of hot water for tea. . Domingo's is sooo homey. This normal down-home diner is an oasis in the sea of spit-polish that is SB. They do have some good vegetarian options. Definitely give it a shot if you're in the mood for a classic all-day breakfast. Maybe go somewhere else if you're looking for fancy. read more

At Domingo's the beans will offer you a creamy, satisfying texture and a complex flavor. LOVE. Chile Relleno with eggs on the first visit and cheese enchiladas with eggs on round 2. Both several steps above traditional with lots of flavor and nearly perfect texture. Get a side of house made salsa. I crave Mexican food, and eat it every chance I get. We were looking for a good breakfast while visiting the area. Domingo's had great reviews so we decided to stop by. Parking lot was full so that seemed like a good sign. We walked in a were told we could sit where ever we would like. Chose a booth right in front of the bar and then the wait began. Coffee came out, without any cream so we waited. We placed our orders, chorizo scrambles with a sides of re fried beans...and we waited. The owner came by at one point and apologized for the wait and commented that the server said we were starting to look nervous. I think she mistook my look of hunger for nervousness. Our food arrived about 25 minutes later. Everything was fresh and well flavored. Beans were tasty and covered with cheese. Good portion of scrambled eggs and chorizo. I appreciate non greasy chorizo. Meh... This place didn't do anything for me. It may have been what I ordered. I was craving biscuits and gravy for breakfast and it was pretty gross. I only ate it because I was really hungry and knew that we weren't going to be stopping anywhere on our ride back home until we hit Pismo and I couldn't wait that long. The biscuits weren't fresh as I've had them at other restaurants. It would have been cool even if they weren't freshly baked- these just tasted old and not too good.
