Lived in Santa Barbara since the '60s, and somehow had never been to Domingo's. I'd been hearing great things for years, so I finally decided it was time to give it a try. I didn't go in with any expectations--just one mission: find some delicious pancakes. Customer Service: The moment we walked in, every single staff member greeted us with a smile. What a refreshing experience! Our waitress, Sonia, welcomed us with coffee, took our order, and made us feel right at home. We learned she's the daughter of the family who owns the restaurant, and it shows. She took wonderful care of us, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. We also had the pleasure of meeting her mother, Theresa. As longtime locals, the warm hospitality reminded us of the Santa Barbara we grew up with--a friendlier, more relaxed town where people genuinely enjoyed taking care of one another. That feeling alone made the visit special. The Food: I ordered the Spanish omelet along with a stack of blueberry pancakes. The blueberry pancakes were absolutely delicious, and they even serve the maple syrup warm--a small touch that makes a big difference. The Spanish omelet was excellent. I chose the O'Hara Cottage Fries, which are mixed with grilled onions and bell peppers, and they were fantastic. I also ordered an extra side of their spicy salsa, and it was outstanding. Breakfast came with a homemade biscuit, which was fresh, buttery, and the perfect finishing touch. I cleaned my plate--every single bite. After living here for decades, I can't believe it took me this long to discover Domingo's. It's easy to see why this family-owned restaurant has such a loyal following. Had lunch there 27Dec and it wasn't great - French fries were cold & soggy, Denver omelet was overcooked & chunks of pepper/onion were very large & not cooked at all. I work nearby and have tried to time my lunch in order to make it in before they close the coffee bar, just to find the drink I want they are out of. I first came in for coffee week and fell in love with their Platano Latte. Myself and my boyfriend would then go in every other week and the barista would only have enough syrup for one or two drinks until it became more consistently no syrup at all. I also follow their page on Instagram and the hours vary greatly depending on the owner?/barista. And while I understand this is a small business, the inability of knowing whether they will be open or have the drink I want has been frustrating. Unfortunately this has lead to us not going back at all. I recommend that they make a permanent drink of the day so that customers know what to expect on any given day, sort of how Shalhoob's does with their daily specials and put it on the menu so that customers who don't use social media know what to expect. With Caje opening near by I do think Del Pueblo has comparable drink variety and quality but the lack of consistency may cause more people default there or somewhere else
