The service here is excellent. Our server, Ashton, did a tremendous job and it was very attentive. My uncle wanted to go to Lure Fish House for his birthday dinner. The shrimp cocktail had some wonderful firm, jumbo shrimp! The little ramekin of sauce and horseradish is way too small. I got the ponzu tuna, it was not to my liking. I was thinking it was going to be kind of like sashimi in a ponzu or Tataki sauce. It was a mound of chopped up small pieces of tuna with all of the other ingredients shaped like a bowl placed on a plate. It came with homemade potato chips. We ordered soup and they asked us if we wanted it as an appetizer and it came out after our dinner had been served. I did not care for their New England clam chowder. My uncle ordered the sand dabs and he always gets the sand dabs at the restaurant. I ordered the Scottish salmon. It was very delicious. Their bread is delicious. They brought my uncle list, ice cream sundae with hot fudge; he enjoyed it tremendously. I asked if I could buy a butter plate and evidently the staff said no but maybe with the new general manager I would have better luck next time. Overall, I would not return unless someone else wants to go.

The place or ambience of the restaurant is nice. I had the rockfish with the potato patty. The rockfish and the potato patty were a bit salty. For my taste. The clam chowder was good. My friends ordered the rockfish taco. The service was okay.

First time visiting, delicious fresh seafood with lots of gluten free options. Friendly service, spacious beautiful decor with lots of indoor seating. We enjoyed everything we ordered: ANACAPA SEAFOOD TOWER (3 oysters, 3 cocktail shrimp, tuna ponzu, spicy seafood ceviche), HOUSE MADE CHOWDERS (classic new england & veracruz fish chowder), CRISPY BAJA COD TACO, GRILLED ROCKFISH TACO & CHIPOTLE SHRIMP TACO. The chowders & tacos had great flavor & generous portions of meat. Everything in the seafood tower was delicious except the ceviche, it was too spicy & salty for us. They have a great happy hour menu Mon-Fri 3-6pm, Sat & Sun 11:30am-5pm. No reservations, first come first seating, it was pretty crowded Fri bet 4-6p for happy hour. Overall we had a wonderful experience.

Located on the outskirt of the mall, next to Macy's. It's a beautiful, aesthetically pleasing restaurant. We came for lunch service and was promptly seated. There is a lunch menu with a good portion size. Menu itself was moderately priced. Our waitress didn't come too often, so if you like not to be checked on often, then great. Restroom needed a little help, though, as napkins were overflowed to the floor. * Calamari - Nicely fried. Came with two dipping sauces. * Half dozen of charbroiled oysters - Small in size. Yes, I know it's not the right season. However, it was nice with plenty of garlic. * Spicy wild salmon sandwich - More like a burger. The salmon was flavorless. Wish it was blackened or something. The coleslaw and aoili is what gave it flavor. Quite disappointed with this one, even though, this is what the waitress recommended. Fries were over salted. Was barely able to eat it. * Sally's sand dabs - Good! Lemon capers were delicious! * Clam linguine - Came with nice sized clams. Strong wine flavor. * Clam chowder - Probably the best thing ordered. Must order! * Veracruz fish chowder - Ok. It reminded me of a chicken tortilla soup but with fish.

House Salad - Half, with grilled rockfish

Lure is one of my favorite restaurants. So I stopped by this one when I was visiting town. I got the house salad with rockfish. Fish was cooked perfectly and was tender and delicious. It paired well with my salad, contrasting with the crisp and fresh vegetables. Simple meal but I was happy with it. Service was super welcoming and friendly from start to finish.

I found this place by way of social media. I ended up doing a little bit of shopping at the Macy's, which is right next to this restaurant location. It was still early around lunchtime so I popped into see if the food looked pretty good or not. Decided that it was crowded at lunchtime and I would come back at dinner. I came back at dinner and it was double the crowd. I ended up having to wait about 45 minutes to get a table. Once they were ready, I ordered a lobster roll and sweet potato fries however they said the sweet potato fries are no longer going to be served so I had to order something else. Other than that, the hostess was very nice and the food came out speedily.

Solid chain for Western style seafood, leaning towards the pricey end. Started with half dozen oysters, 2 of each of the 3 types they had. Wish they labeled it. They were all pretty fresh but definitely on the tinier side. Then we shared the crab cakes which had a delicious arugula salad on the bottom and yummy creamy sauce. This was tasty but I almost enjoyed the salad more than the crab cakes. For entrees, my mom had the pacific rockfish and I had the clams with linguine. The rockfish was cooked nicely but a bit on the blander side, although the parmesan potato cake was absolutely delicious!!! My clam linguine was rich and the clams were nice and plump. However, it was practically swimming in oil. Service was super welcoming and friendly from the start! Place was absolutely packed on a Sunday night.

Service was great. Cool place, upscale, appointed well, good vibe. Fish was excellent in quality. I have the crab and shrimp salad. They tossed the salad with the dressing and I think they did it too early as the lettuce was limp by the time it made it to the table. My wife ordered the breaded trout which was delicious. She got Brussels sprouts which were amazing, and the French fries which we left and didn't eat. I would pass on the fries. We also started off with some Oysters which were delicious. Could have been five stars.

Another great lunch at the Lure in Feb. Menu paper looked nicer too. - Charbroiled oysters = not sure why, but just not enjoying this like we did back when we first discovered lure. Just seems to lack the flavor punch it had years back. Maybe something changed slightly since last year I felt it was a bit off too. Looking back at my own pictures, maybe the toppings are lacking butter or something that gave it a more liquid look before, while recent ones look less liquidy? No idea, but this is beginning to go off my list if it doesn't return to what it used to be... - Got the fish & chips + $5 with shrimp = delicious, but not sure if the +$ for fish & shrimp instead of having more fish is worth the upgrade. I would stick with fish n chips. - Sand dabs = always delicious and a fav for my family, kid ate it all up this time. - Miso glazed salmon bowl = got this for the kid, but he went all sand dabs. Wife and I ate this and it was a great piece of salmon and delicious.

The "smash" burger. Too thick to be considered that

My uncle and i had such a mediocre lunch experience today. We sat at the bar around 11:40am and the place was pretty empty. The bartender wasn't very friendly and hardly engaged with us. Didn't really seem like she wanted to be there and had little customer service knowledge. She took our order and we waited probably 20 minutes for our ahi ceviche to arrive then another 15-20 minutes for our lunch. It was insane at how long this took when the lunch rush hadn't even hit. We even had to ask about our appetizer because we were sitting for so long. The ahi ceviche was meh. Needed some salt. The chips it came with were super greasy and not crispy. My uncle got the salmon bowl and said it was delicious. Love that for him. My smash burger was not a smash burger. It was a thick patty piled high with lettuce, tomatoes, and everything else. Just call it a burger please because this was basically click bait IMO. The fries were thin, not warm and super crispy. Perhaps the bottom/leftovers from another serving? I couldn't eat them. If you want a burger, this is it. If you want a smash burger, go somewhere else. Overall, not impressed at all

Lure is a large restaurant next to Macy's. We went on a Friday during lent and it was packed. Nevertheless, we got great service and did not have to wait too long. Wonderful, happy hour menu!! So good. We ordered all our food off of it. We were hungry and didn't take many pictures. Everything was very good and the service was great. Drinks were equally good. Definitely a spot to hit up when in Santa Barbara/ Goleta area!!

It seemed like a great way to sample a variety of wines without it being overwhelming. We were warmly welcomed by Taylor, who made our visit even more enjoyable. She was incredibly friendly, took the time to explain the menu, and walked us through the wines we selected, making us feel comfortable and never rushed. We also ordered the charcuterie board, and it exceeded our expectations. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, and it was surprisingly filling for the two of us. Between the welcoming service, delicious food, and relaxed atmosphere, this ended up being one of our favorite stops in Santa Barbara. We had a series of issues from the start. Our assigned waiter was completely inattentive; he ignored our table, failed to check on us, and never brought the cheese board we ordered. We eventually had to flag down another member of the staff just to get any service at all. Even after we caught his attention, our server seemed aware of us but made no effort to approach or assist. Additionally, the wait time for our wine flights was excessively long. When the cheese board finally arrived, I was shocked to find that all three cheeses were served still inside their original plastic wrappers--not even sliced. To make matters worse, we were provided with plastic knives to cut the cheese ourselves, which was incredibly difficult and frustrating. I have never encountered a cheese board served this way at any establishment. I really wanted to enjoy this visit, and I want to give credit to the other waitresses who were working that day--they were great and were the only saving grace of the experience. However, the lack of basic service and the bizarre presentation of the food made this a trip I wouldn't recommend

A warning: don't come here…read more If you come here, your expectations for any future plate of expertly and carefully prepared crudo will be extinguished forever in the aftermath--the afterlife--of a crudo so delicate, so beautifully presented that few plates could compare. There was life before this crudo plate, and there is life afterward. Burrata? You haven't *tasted* burrata. A plump burrata seeming to bloom amongst hefty slices of speck resting on a bed of some of the sweetest peaches I've ever eaten, grains of oil-kissed mustard seed divinely adorning its crown. I'm light-headed writing this. My queendom for burrata of this caliber. Now, the service. Exquisite, warm, intelligent. Lindsey (Lindsay? Please tell me how to spell thy name!) was incredible. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our dining experience. I was merely passing through on my way back home to Claremont from Monterey (on a research trip; you didn't ask, dear reader, but this context is essential as research takes its toll on one's nervous system and sometimes only a glass of wine and delightful aperitivos will do to calm thyself) and decided to stop here on a whim. Don't come here, lest you find some excuse to drive 2.5 hours out of your way from the Inland Empire to Santa Barbara to taste not only these delights again, but to feel welcomed so wholesomely into a space where it is clear (from service to food prep) that the art of the aperitivo is not lost, not shallowly puppeteered for an unknowing diner, but ALIVE, and vibrantly so. Thank you to everyone there for one of the best dining experiences of my life. I will be back. Don't come. Turn away. Do not embrace the internal shifting of one's sense of self. Like Stephen King warns his Constant Reader at the end of The Dark Tower: "Should you go on, you will surely be disappointed, perhaps even heartbroken...Endings are heartless. Ending is just another word for goodbye. Would you still? Very well, then, come. (Do you hear me sigh?) Here is the Dark Tower, at the end of End-World. See it, I beg. See it very well. Here is the Dark Tower at sunset." Here, at Aperitivo, is a materialized sunset that you can taste in every bite. Like many, I read beyond Stephen King's warning to see the truth of what lay at the culmination of his most famous series. I want the truth, however painful it may be. If you are strong enough to embrace a shift in what a truly special dining experience *can* be, then come, at your own peril. Oh, and they have txakoli. Long days and pleasant nights, dear reader.

We visited over Memorial Day weekend with a group of five after taking the train in specifically to spend time here. Before committing to purchasing bottles, we simply wanted to taste a few wines. Thankfully, Cory stepped in and was welcoming, professional, and kind enough to offer us samples of the wines we were interested in trying. What was completely unacceptable, however, was Amanda making comments like, "the owner doesn't even like you." This was both inappropriate and unprofessional, especially considering I do not know the owner and the owner does not know me. There was absolutely no reason for such a disrespectful remark. And that is just ONE example of remarks she made to my friend and I. She also talked down on a stutter that I have, just inappropriate!! The manager or owner (not sure which roll he played exactly) seemed to have been drinking because while he was defending his out of line staff, he yelled "I'm not even supposed to be here, I should be out golfing!" As if that was my fault. Overall, this was a horrible experience and a major disappointment from a place I used to genuinely enjoy and recommend to friends. It is unfortunate that what was once a great spot is now associated with such poor treatment and lack of professionalism.
