Long overdue review for this not so hidden gem. Rodeo Room offers amazing craft cocktails, delicious bites, and a killer happy hour 5-6pm. Did you also know there's also omakase? On Sunday (1 seating) and Monday (2 seatings), Rodeo Room transforms into a delicious (and affordable) omakase consisting of delicious bites of sushi and ends with a twist on a bar bite and dessert. Optional cocktail pairing (worth it!). The ambiance gives off a dark classy take on a classic bar setting. Service is friendly and the sushi chef prepares the food right where you can see (depending on where you are seated). I recommend the bar top vs table, unless with a larger group. Limited seating so be sure to make a reso in advance! read more

Been wanting to try this place. The smashburger was really good, but the meat that went over the bun did not taste as good as the meat inside the bun. The sauce and flavors of the smash burger is good. I would rank this in top 3 smash burger places I've tried. I normally don't care for fries that come with burgers, but the fries that come with the smash burgers are really really good. I couldn't stop eating them. There are crispy on the outside yet had that softness in the inside. They were so addicting that I found myself not being able to resist them. I just wish they sold the fries on its own. The RR Korean wings were a little bit more Gingery than I'm used to. But I do like how they had only flats. The street tacos were good. They were wrapped in the tiny taco tortillas but they stuffed it really well. Generous amount of meat and veggies on it. The flavoring of the carnitas have an interesting taste. It was also juicy so I had no need to add sauce, but the sauce was also good and added another flavor. The churro was not bad, but I prefer Augie's pillowy churros. The cool as a cucumber drink was good and had a refreshing ness to it. If I was not driving I would have wanted to try some of their old fashions, because it sounds pretty delicious and if they did the zero proof drink while I'm pretty sure the old fashioned are also delicious as well. This place is probably a good place to have a date night. I tried to take pictures but it was a little bit too dark for my camera to capture the environment. But I definitely have to come back to try some of their old fashions. read more

Still one of my favorite places for Happy Hour, Cocktails, and their menu of Bar Bites is stellar. Thanks again to Dudley, Grace, and Garrett behind the Bar. It's been three years that we've been enjoying Rodeo Room. Really can't say enough about their delicious Cocktails. Absolutely something for everyone. Loving the fun bar, and their comfy booth seating. Still right there inbetween the Seven Bar, Rozzi Pizza, and The Brewhouse. Get ready to be dazzled! read more

Went here on a whim after we visited a friend nearby. Been seeing it on my radar and a few of our Yelp friends gave it rave reviews, so we finally tried it. Got there right as it opened, which incidentally was during happy hour. Original plan was to just get a round of drinks and some tacos (got a Classic Old Fashioned and carnitas tacos) but ended up getting two rounds of each instead because the food and drinks were so tasty. The Old Fashioned was basic but executed at a high level. The tacos just tasted sublime. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Stopped here on Halloween night before hitting State street. They sat us in their back patio which I had never seen, it was small but cute (& much better than all the loudness inside). I really like the drinks and bites here! Minus one star because we ordered the Saigon wings and to my unpleasant surprise there was ranch heavily drizzled on them. This was nowhere stated on the menu or else I wouldn't have ordered them. Believe it or not, not everyone likes ranch!! read more

I came here for the first time about a week ago and had their Ube cocktail with their happy hour tacos. Honestly, everything was impressive. The drink was frothy yet quenching; I would definitely order again. I ordered the tacos with carnitas (but they did offer cauliflower as an alternative, which I appreciated) and they were actually very filling and had a good flavor. I also really enjoyed the vibe of this place, it was giving gothic rodeo. The service was on point and they checked in on us multiple times. Overall, a good place to grab a drink and snack during the week. read more

I can't say enough great things about this place. We went there last night, and it was perfect for us. Not too crowded, intimate setting and the service was excellent by our server Michael. By coincidence, it is a special servings night, where they bring a pop-up eatery for a limited number of people. They do this every Sunday and Monday night. It is very popular. Last night was for excellent fresh sushi they made for 10 people, which they were kind enough to give us some spare bites. You have to make reservations for the special pop-up, because they have a certain amount of food they prepare, so that they don't waste any of it. We had the flank steak with the sauce made it delicious. I wanted to attach some pics too, but I can't seem to find it available on this app. read more

I would highly recommend booking an omakase slot at Rodeo Room on Monday nights. It is incredible and Kevin is awesome The final slider finisher might be the best burger I've ever had. I shouldn't share this because they are so damn good but they also sell the sliders separately on Mondays only. Go try them! They are to die for! read more

As a longtime worker of the maritime industry it's important to have great bars within walking distance. It's also important that those bars are, well, a little fuckin weird. Looks pretentious and maybe wants to be pretentious but emotionally feels like a true dive bar, which makes the space very approachable. It feels authentic. They also come out the gate blasting some pretty heavy music, which since we were there to meet our boss, was hilarious. I walked outside to check out their patio and something about that arrangement made me lose my fuckin pickles (laughing, not puking). Maybe it was the mushrooms talking. Definitely worth checking out. read more

I absolutely LOVED my Good Morning Vietnam (viet coffee twist on an espresso martini) and we also later tried the Manila Ice which I also loved (the ube flavor came through just perfectly) Only docking one star because the music selection was a bit strange, transitioning from rock to Clairo to 2000s pop.... and felt a bit too loud if sitting inside. They do have a quieter outdoor seating area which is a bit small though! read more

The lighting was a little too dark for my liking, but Best Brussel sprouts I have ever tasted. The spritzer was a good non-alcoholic drink.

The new bartender here is a misogynist. Ladies I would not recommend coming here. I saw that he made comments to coworkers about women and other employees were smiling and laughing. I would say the food is ok. The wings were not served hot. I will not be visiting this establishment ever again. read more

Rodeo Room is easily one of the best bars in Santa Barbara, and a huge part of that is because of Napo. If you're lucky enough to catch him working, you're guaranteed great service and even better drinks. Napo is super personable, remembers regulars, and actually cares about making sure everyone has a good time. His drinks are always on point, strong but balanced, and he moves fast even when it's packed. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. The vibe here is always fun, the music hits, and the crowd is solid, but Napo really takes it to another level. Straight-up one of the best bartenders in town. Highly recommend stopping by and asking for Napo. read more

The place may be hard to find at night because there isn't a giant sign that says "Rodeo Bar." Look for the "Restaurant" sign and Rodeo Bar is next door. Speakeasy feels with a laidback dim-lit atmosphere. Cozy, small, intimate, and perfect for conversing. Seating: indoor, at the bar, and small outdoor patio. The Abuelita ($16): Resposado, mezcal, thyme, mole bitters. A different variation of the classic old fashioned. The mezcal provides a smokiness to the drink. It's a strong straight forward sipping drink. La Vie en Rose ($15): Vodka, coconut, rose, guava, lime, almond. Love this! There's a nice balance of the flavors and sweetness/tartness. Perfect for an after dinner drink - like a dessert. If you aren't careful you may order two of these (it's that good). The bartenders and service were friendly. They also have a small food menu, which unfortunately I didn't get to try. Overall I would come back if I'm ever in the area. read more

If you are in Santa Barbara, Do not skip the Rodeo Room! We stopped here for drinks and dinner on a recent trip to the area and we were not disappointed! We tried several dishes on the menu- Crispy Brussels, Caesar Salad, Wagu Steak, Smash Burger with Fries and Churro Dessert. Everything was exceptionally prepared and the flavors were expertly balanced. To say this is elevated bar food does not do the chef justice. We also tried their Strawberry Chili Basil Margarita, which was fantastic! (I also overheard another guest say the martini they ordered was the best, smoothest martini they've ever had.) On top of that, the service was exceptional! We will definitely be back the next time we visit Santa Barbara! read more

The craft cocktails are so elevated they are in another stratosphere. They are complex and the garnishes even are next level. Yet, you must order food because what the kitchen produces matches the heights of the drinks. My favorite hidden gem bar in Santa Barbara that I take all of my friends too! For me, that says something! From the vibe both inside and on the outdoor patio, to the bumping playlist that always plays the perfect song throughout the night, to the friendly and sweet bartenders, to the food, and the DRINKS?! This place is everything and more. The drinks alone just shine so bright here and you just have to have more than one! My boyfriend swears that the She is Beauty is his favorite drink in all of SB. My favorite drink is the Purple Haze and now I can add the seasonal Starbuck and La Vie En Rose to that list. Rodeo Room will always have my heart and my money, no matter what! read more

The food was amazing, the service was friendly and quick and the ambiance was dim-lit, trendy and artsy--a magnet for hipsters. The atmosphere is very quaint, intimate and low-key; perfect for couples, dates, groups, or friends who don't like a lot of crowds. The music was pretty dope! The DJ played deep, underground 90s and 00s hip-hop cuts. A flavorful dish coupled with sounds of MF Doom will always be a good night! This place is a hidden gem! read more

I came here with my partner when we were on a little mini vacation to Santa Barbara. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here at Rodeo Room. I ordered the gingerbread martini and it was so yummy. It was reminiscent of an espresso martini and it came with a little gingerbread cookie in the drink. For food, my partner and I ordered the Korean wings and the Mac on crack. The Korean wings had the perfect amount of spice and flavor for me. The Mac on crack truly lived up to its name, with the ideal amount of cheesiness. Our server was super friendly and she helped us out so much finding what we wanted to order. The ambiance reminded me of a speakeasy, since it was also a bit hard to find the door at first. And I appreciated that it was dimly lit inside, which created more of a chill, intimate atmosphere. I can't wait to come back when I travel to SB again! read more

We visited Rodeo Room for New Year's Eve and had a great experience! They did sell tickets in advance, but we ended up just paying the $20/person at the door. We showed up so early that the bar was relatively empty, but it did fill up quickly as the night went on. The ambiance was fantastic and the small space and moody speakeasy-like vibe really reminded me of New York. The kitchen was open late, so we started with dinner and drinks at the bar. We ordered the Crispy Brussels, RR Korean Wings, and Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls. I wasn't expecting much from bar food, but was so impressed at how great it was! All three items were pretty much perfect - flavors, presentation, portion size, etc. For drinks, we asked the bartender if he could make any mocktails, and he really took that as a challenge. Each time, he would make up a new one and all of them were delicious. My favorite one of the night kind of tasted like blackberry jam and was truly a work of art. He also poured us iced tea shots later in the night and was generally so fun to interact with. The DJ also did an excellent job with the music, and everyone had a great time. Would absolutely return! read more

The reviews I read that this place has a speak easy vibe is accurate. Seems more local and less touristy. They had unique cocktails that were very good. i had a twist on a lemoncello martini with frothy top. Tasty enough to order a second. Their food has a spicy theme. The brussel spouts were the best I've had anywhere. So flavorful and perfect crisp on them. We tried the korean wings and the smash burger. All very good. On Wednesday, at the last minute (5:45 pm), we decided to find a happy hour close to our VRBO. Luckily, we found Rodeo Room. They have a HH from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm. You can almost walk past this little gem of a bar - it is tucked in a bit from a few restaurant/bar storefronts. The Spicy Strawberry Margaritas are amazing, the bartenders are friendly, and the Korean wings were spicy hot and delicious. The vibe is speakeasy-meets-NY chic.
