We came on a Tuesday (Farm to Bar) where you state a liquor and spicy or sweet and the rest is taken care of. Overall a lot of fun and all the drinks were creative and fun. Awesome spot to hangout and enjoy a few drinks and some music. The vibe is definitely laid back. It is attached to the wildcat lounge through the back patio so you have the option to hop between the two. We loved this lounge and enjoyed that we could still have a conversation over the music. This is the second day open to the public. I am already liking my first time here. The atmosphere is good and I have great vibes about this place. There is a door that opens to the dance floor at WildCat and there is a small window that you could see through the dance floor. The drinks are amazing. If you like ginger, Sean (the bartender) makes really fresh ginger beer and it is a main ingredient for the Smitten Kitten. The Guava Florita has the pink Guavas and 4-yr white run, Cochi Americana, burnt orange peel and lime. I really love this one. I need to come back one more time and try other drinks in the menu. They also have local wines. The beers are on Draft and Bottles. My friend got the Double IPA and it wasn't too hoppy. I really like it. read more

Sean's vision is masterfully done from the sleek lines on artwork to the painting of a reclining Pam Greer-like woman in repose. The bartenders are skillful mixologists and they are sweet, talkative and fun people. They often have a more selective/type DJ at the Bobcat (versus the wildcat). What is this place trying to be? Kind of a trendy little bar connected to SB's raunchiest bar. And when I say Raunchiest bar that is an absolute compliment to the Sh*tty Kitty next door. The Bobcat room is well done and kind of cool. They don't have a sign so if you are trying to find it when it isn't open you won't. I have had friends "scolded" for going in the front door, I guess they are trying to create that speak-easy vibe. Maybe they should require a password. Caput Draconis, Valley Forge, Joshua or my favorite, Fidelio might work. I really liked the servers and the bartender, super friendly and nice. The drinks are fine and the Mai Tai-ish drink that I was recommended kind of captured the essence of a Mai Tai while missing the mark for the most part. Unfortunately the crowd seemed to be a spill-over from the place next door. While those folks are tons of fun with a booming DJ, flashing lights and smoke...they don't exactly fit the environment the Bobcat seems to be trying to portray. The two times that I went the place smelled strongly of Lysol kind of like that movie theater where Pee Wee Herman was busted. While I could see the necessity of it next door it seemed like the Bobcat room really shouldn't have that need if they are succeeding in being the classier alternative. If you are looking for the "Mad Men" experience (as one of my friends called it) I can think of a much, much better place that is hidden in Goleta. Not telling! read more

So this is a regular spot for me and my girlfriends. But I have to say that what I observed last night was so disturbing I'm not sure we're going to come back. There was a group of young people next to us at the bar and they ordered some drinks. One of them got a martini of some sort and when it was placed on the bar, I saw the girl take it and place it on the table behind her and the stem broke. That created quite a mess and some of the drunk even got on my dress. I even think one of the bartenders saw it. So the girl asks for the drink to be remade and provided the broken martini glass. This is where things go really wrong. They basically made her wait like 20 maybe 30 minutes. I think the girl might've asked once or twice about that drink and the bartenders kept on saying there were other drinks ahead of them. How could they be ahead of them when what they provided was a drink with a glass that had a flaw. As far as I can tell, the actual original order was never filled. Anyway, what I next observed was the most disturbing aspect. One of the men in the group came over and asked the main bartender, a bald guy, about that drink that was pending. He said it's been about 20-25 minutes. The bald bartender just went off on him. He said things like go back to your seat and you'll get your drink when you get your drink. The man stood his ground understandably so and simply told him that the drink that was provided before was in a broken glass and we simply wanted to get the original order. The bald guy behind the bar would not have it and then threatened to throw him out. Saying things like you're out of here. Again the man just stood his ground and said, "excuse me Why don't you try to be a little more respectful. Why don't you try to acknowledge that people have a basic expectation that when they order a drink it will be in a glass that is not going to shatter." Again, the bald bartender was just rude and obnoxious. I think that the man made a comment about being a local and not appreciating such treatment. Then I saw the bald bartender run over to the bouncers and say something. Again, the man just stood his ground when the bouncers approached him. He explained exactly what had happened and they walked away. It was actually pretty remarkable how this man defused the tense situation and put everyone in their place. But this is in no way excusing of the way the bald bartender behaved. He put everyone in a bad zone and they were at fault. They were at fault for providing a glass that shattered. They were at fault for taking their time to remake the drink. And mostly they were at fault for being so rude and obnoxious when a reasonable request after 20 or 25 minutes passed. I'm really glad the man stood his ground and I learned a lot just observing situation but my experience is bad enough that I don't think I'll be coming back to the Bobcat room for a while. Hopefully they can fix these customer management issues. read more

Came in for a drink or 2 with a few few friends and ended up staying for a lot more. A little cutie I have never seen there before was working. Sweet little blond Irish girl making the best drinks. Bobcat lost ALL of us as customers. We were a small, staggered group of about ten that arrived over the course of an hour, to have one drink for a birthday. Over half an hour went by with half of our group still not receiving their order. Literally over 30 minutes to make five drinks. The manager then informed us that they wouldn't be serving the rest of the drinks - a party had arrived and they only had one bartender on duty. This is a bar. If you can't handle people actually coming in for a drink, maybe you should rethink your business. Don't treat your customers poorly because you failed to staff properly. We won't be back. read more

This place never fails with their drinks!!! And next door they always have a fun DJ! Tonight we tried the P-O-G Vesper a really nice cocktail with vodka, gin, passion fruit and other fruit juices!! Like I said before their drinks never fail. I love they have these handcrafted drinks, using local fresh ingredients, the best!! Every once in a while they do have DJ in the bobcat room, but otherwise best thing to do is order and get drinks at the bobcat room and then head to the wildcat for fun dancing. Only downside to this lately, is that it's become too crowded, I guess since tonic closed down the street more people head to this place. Last time we actually left because the line was a tad bit too long, and actually on both spots the bobcat room and wildcat. In case you haven't been there the two connect in the back patio, which is awesome. Bartenders are always friendly and quick to get your drink order, my two favors ones are Sean and Tory, both very attentive and super nice. read more

The drink selection was okay, a little small, but had a decent amount of options regardless. The servers were great and attentive. What really had my experience go down hill was the bouncer(s). One viewed my boyfriend's ID, and the process was pretty standard and quick. For me, it felt like an interrogation. While the "official bouncer" (dressed in appropriate security attire) was viewing my ID, shining his flashlight at it, bending it a bit, whoever he was with kept asking me questions and it felt a little like harassment: "What year were you born?" "What's your address?" I would respond, "Down the street here..." and he followed up by "BUT WHAT IS IT, WHAT NUMBER?" Agressively. And in my head, all that information is on my ID, and he wasn't even the bouncer, he was dressed in casual attire and just conversing with the bouncer prior to us arriving. Was it even his job? "Do you have another ID with your birthday on it? Credit card?" It was extremely rude. It was a Friday night, around 9p. It wasn't busy, I was just wanting a drink to wind down. Only reason why this review is receiving more than 1 star is because the girls were great. The guys could be replaced. Not sure if I'll be returning. read more

The Bobcat Room reminds us of the cool 1960's. It is artfully decorated with nice sofas and decorative lamps. I personally loved their handcrafted farmers' market cocktail named the "Smitten Kitten." Reasonably priced especially during Happy Hour. Our group enjoyed the crafted cocktails, beer and a nice selection of better wines than most bars. The Cheese Plate was generous with a great selection of goodies. The service was great. We will go back for sure! read more

I really like the design and ambiance at Bobcat. It has a modern and groovy vibe! The lighting is really cool, the drinks are yummy and the prices are equivalent to any Santa Barbara bar/lounge. It's also connected to the Wildcat for dancing in the back. I usually come here around 10PM to start my night off! Plus the crowd at Wildcat/Bobcat is more my style. First off, I LOVE THE NAME!! The more masculine with a touch of James Bond-esque counterpart to the Wildcat Lounge next door. It's noisy when crowded but the bartenders were friendly and happy let me sample a beer on tap before committing. Reminded me of a small and intimate lounge in Las Vegas--without all the travel to get there! I can imagine this lounge being the ideal place for a late night drink when the dust has settled playing 60's era lounge music--I look forward to that opportunity! read more
