I came to this cafe on my trip to Santa Barbara and all I can say is WOW! I had the enchilada omelette with hash browns, and an english muffin. As soon as I got the food in front of me I got a wif of your typical omelette and hash brown with some extra spices. The first bite can best be described as a "foodgasm" it was that amazing. The service was quick and very friendly and the place has a nice old fashion homely feel to it. I will DEFINITELY be coming back here on future trips. read more

Zoiks. This was a disappointment. D'Brickashaw, the food loving T-Rex, was not impressed, either. Sad that it was because I had such high expectations, set by some of these glowing Yelp reviews and pictures. Nestled just off what seems like the main drag of Goleta, my sister and I entered what seemed like a small cafe. The pleasant surprise was that this place is actually quite spacious. It's rather huge. That's where pleasant ends. Decor is what I would expect a "Mom n Pop"cafe to have so I won't knock it on that. It was also clean. That's important to me. Call me crazy. C'mon!!! We seated ourselves and took in the area and synced up to their complimentary wifi and poured over the menu, that was presented to us in short time. At first I thought the flow of service was set...but...but...it was not to be. I'm gonna blame timing because maybe they were expecting the place to be busy, but morning hours at a popular place, it seems implied. At the time we arrived it seemed like it was 1 vs the world and as the meal progressed and cups stayed empty, that became more the tone. It wasn't packed in there, but there was one large group and a couple families, including the two of us, but it was no onslaught. 75% of the establishment was still empty. Food did come fast but that was really the only thing that did. Refills barely did, nor was the finish to the dining experience. So...yea...service was a bit lacking. Now to the meat of this experience and home to the Great Depression. My sister and I had general ideas what we wanted so picking was a problem. She had the enchilada omelet and I had the Joe's Goleta omelet. The descriptions did well for a quick sell. The enchilada omelet is pretty self-explanatory, it's an enchilada but use an omelet as the vessel instead of a tortilla. As for mine dish, a beast stuffed with avocado, lemon chicken and a nutty salsa. Sounds pretty rad, right? Now, heres the thing. Had I closed my eyes and ate this, I wouldn't have tasted any of that stuff. I would have recognized the textures but, to my amazement, I lost all the flavors. They were all drowned out in the heaviness of the egg. I literally had to take the platter apart to tasted each component, individually. That says a bit since avocado is quite a standout flavor. I couldn't find it. Not on my plate! Not in that pile. The egg was overpowering everything! As for my side of country style potatoes...those didn't have much of a taste either. They just tasted like potatoes. Yea, I know, that sounds stupid but breakfast tatoes and hashbrowns have a taste, a distinctive taste that the cooking oil gives it. My tatoes seemed dry and flavorless so I had to smother them in ketchup to give it a hand. I wanted to believe I just picked a dud off the menu but I saw my sister suffering the same fate. I took a bite and figured out why she was suffering. Her plate was also a pile of flavorless sorrow. The egg was also winning the battle. The shame was the enchilada sauce we very tame to both of our non-smoking palettes. Then there was the meat. That sad, dry crumble that was in the omelet. I tasted it on it's own and while I tasted a hint of salt...it was only slightly. There was no moisture to be found. Meat with no juice just has sad panda written all over it. That was actually a shock because the tastes on her plate were suppose to be very assertive. They weren't. It was pretty damning. Thankfully pricing was ok but the damage was done. As cross country travels go, this will be a place I skip. Unfortunately, this may be a Mexican restaurant, but this is a restaurant that turned into a Mexican't. Eat up, Minions!! read more

Service is so slow. It takes a while to get seated, to be given the menu, and then for the food to come afterwards. The food is decent; it's a decent brunch place to go to when you don't want to drive all the way to State St. The environment is very friendly, lots of families and I always see other fellow UCSB students every time I go. Domingo, the owner, has been there every time I've gone and he always has this little girl helping him set up the tables. It's so cute. I don't have any dish that I crazy loved; everything was just alright. Each dish ranges from ($8-12). I would recommend coming if you have time to wait for a table and for mediocre service and food. read more

Came here for brunch! I always try to get huevos rancheros when I can, but I wanted them with refried beans (I know I know ...) and they don't use refried! Good to know. Boyfriend and I split the Santa Barbara omelette. Came with hash browns and four slices of toast, which was plenty for two people. The omelette itself was pretty decent, but the ratio of cheese and sour cream to avocado / olives was pretty high. I don't think I ate a single olive ... Waiter was nice and attentive. Walked In, and we were eventually told to seat ourselves. Nothing wrong with that, but if that's the policy on a busy Sunday morning, maybe put up a sign that says "Please Seat Yourselves". That'll save us the awkward four minutes of wondering what to do and where the wait-staff is. Got our drinks right away, that was good. I asked for a cup of water with my coffee at about 10:10, when I got my coffee. Put our order in at about 10:15. Now at this point, it was a full house. I fully appreciate how that can affect a restaurant. Our waiter (heavy-set hispanic gentleman with a ponytail) was clearly occupied, but by 10:25, I had to flag him down and ask him again for water. He said he would be right back. 10:40, still no water, and no food either. Water doesn't take that long to pour, even if you are busy. I saw our waiter walk back and forth from the kitchen and past our table multiple times with nothing in his hands. He could have dropped a water off on any one of those trips. 10:45, finally got our food. Omeletes and toast don't take that long to cook. Asked for water again, he finally went and got it. The food was less than spectacular. Very heavy, buttery, almost greasy taste, and the 'lemon chicken' in my Joe's Omelete had no lemon flavor. Also, the hash browns wer'ent extra crispy, despite having asked for them and been repeated back during the ordering process that they would be. When our waiter dropped the check, he did it while we were all still eating, and he did so while running away and yelling across the room that we could pay whenever we wanted. It wasn't busy anymore, only about half capacity in the area we were seated. He didn't tell us that we needed to go to the register to pay, so we sat there with cash/a credit card on the bill for about 10 minutes before we saw other people walking around the bar and realized there was a cash register. All-in-all, the food was not worth coming back for, and the service was worth avoiding. Would have liked a friendlier wait-staff, especially at a local "ma-and-pa" breakfast place, especially on a Sunday morning. Sorry to say, Domingo's Café, but I won't be coming back. read more

It's my sisters 21st birthday and decided to come with a pretty big group. About 10 people. At first it didn't seem like it was something they could accommodate but eventually we were seated comfortably with the help of our fantastic waitress. Not sure what her name was but she was an older lady who was a sweetheart. We were a pretty big party and she seemed experienced on accommodating a group of college students asking right away if this was separate checks. The food was delicious and I had a morning breakfast dish which was eggs Benedict. Turned out really good and we all left with a full stomach and a smile. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I'm always craving potatoes, and I love hash browns. If I could come every morning to order their French Toast with a side of Hash Browns I would! Compared to other Western/Hispanic breakfast restaurants here in the SB/Goleta area, this place beats them all! Service is always friendly. However, the decor is outdated, but after you're presented with your food you forget about it. There's also free wifi, and it's pretty fast when the place isn't too full. The lady servers are friendly, but not too friendly - just right. Many say the menudo is excellent. I trust them but it's not for me. My favorite restaurant in Goleta. It's really homey and comfortable. It makes me really really happy to be here and I hope they never change a thing. Obviously, the food is very good. A mix between Mexican-American and American comfort diner food. Possibly my favorite restaurant in the world. Edit: it makes me grumpy to see tourists complaining about this spot. It's not some hot spot gourmet restaurant. And everyone here has always been so kind to me, and a few of the staff members are like parents to me. Maybe check your attitude when you walk in somewhere like this, and be open rather than expecting to be served like royalty. Savory is one way to describe this. The flavor is the right balance that one needs, the mole sauce is not overwhelming with bitterness the way many sauces are on the enchiladas and be eggs are tunes just right. Because of the small staff and general business's you may not get acknowledged right away and some of the staff seems unaware of your existence. But sit down, because quality is what your in for. You are in for a treat. The coffee does not disappoint and is brewed with a nice balance its called "Farmer Brothers" and it's good enough for me to commission a search to see if I can get it at home. I've never seen this location I came to buy bread at the next door bakery and it caught my eye. I came inside with my gf, and we were intrigued by the aesthetic of the location a calm nice coffee shop. Hot chocolate was amazing with sprinkles, the very amazing and kind older lady's brought it out with much love. The food was perfect, except when they added gravy when requested not too.
