I didn't read any of the reviews so as not to be influenced on what to write. Domingo's is a local haunt so you won't find any tourists here. The food is prepared with fresh ingredients and very flavorful. The problem I have with this place is the portly male waiter that would not accommodate my order in any way. He wouldn't let me substitute pancakes for biscuits (which they had already stopped serving), didn't know if the kitchen still had breakfast potatoes, wouldn't let me order 2 pancakes instead of 3, wouldn't let me substitute potatoes for fruit and was just basically "bad news". I had been there the day before for breakfast and had ZERO problems with my pleasant and lovely waitress. All that aside, I recommend Domingo's because of the great food & fair prices. Domingo's is in Old Town Goleta and has yet to be overrun by "techies" and computer geeks, all locals here, I love it. I might go back, not sure. read more

It is bizarre how few excellent breakfast houses there are in Santa Barbara. Domingos is my favorite place to get breakfast in Santa Barbara and I have lived here for almost 10 years. They make excellent egg and potato breakfasts and they have great Mexican lunches. The staff is always wonderful and their cupcakes could be in a high-end bakery in Beverly hills. read more

Old world style diner with a local flavor and atmosphere. Gargantuan omelettes and breakfast plates. Coffee was great, served up in those old school ceramic mugs that you just want to rest up against your cheek. They have outdoor seating and it's pretty spacious inside, so if you're looking for a down home regular breakfast that will fill you up for the price, I'd check this out. read more

I couldn't believe it....until DOMINGOS CAFE showed up! the restaurant itself is very cute, old spanish looking with a bunch of christmas trees everywhere (?) but the breakfast menu was good, hot cakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, omelettes, scrambles, etc. i gave it a star for restaurant quality, a star for service, and a star for the menu. but the huevos rancheros takes the two stars off, it was bland and not up to par. next time.. You can't judge a book by its cover or a restaurant based on how it looks especially here. This place is the bomb. Hands down. Their pancakes are incredible. I'm serious. Came here with a group of friends based on the 4- star yelp reviews. There weren't many customers there when we first arrived. Unfortunately, the service was very slow and the food was below mediocre. To add to the slow service and low quality of food, we had to return 3 scramble orders because it didn't have any eggs. Our server did try and accommodate splitting the bills but it seemed you have added to more confusion. Good service, breakfast not fabulous but perfectly fine, and I liked the booths and the down-home atmosphere, although the decor seemed a little forced. I don't like giving bad reviews--especially when the restaurant has such nice service--but the food was subpar and overpriced. My blueberry pancakes were just regular pancakes with three blueberries placed on top; and they cost a dollar more. My egg order came wrong. Nobody in my party was satisfied. Overall, the food was probably below ihop standard--but actually more expensive. It is a cute little place, though. This place had been on my list for a while, so I finally decided to try it today. The service was good and the atmosphere is very homey. I felt the food was alright though and not worth returning for. The french toast needed the maple syrup cause otherwise the toast itself was hard to eat and tasted like it had soaked in the egg too long. The enchilada omelette was okay. This is an amalgamation of three days worth of breakfasts. Can you tell we enjoyed the place? At dinner on Thursday night we asked our waitress for a recommendation for breakfast. We are so glad she recommended Domingo's Cafe! We ended up coming here three days in a row until leaving town again. The eggs were never overdone - scrambled was perfect, over easy was perfect. The bacon wasn't bad and the service was great. Pancakes were nothing special, the waffle wasn't good, so I'd just recommend the two egg breakfast. I had both the potatoes and the hash browns, both weren't too shabby, especially mixed with eggs over easy. The food was always filling and my 3 year old approved of her breakfasts each time. The prices were fair and my husband was even full - always a difficult prospect. We'd go again. Went back. I still like the Mexi/Dinner fusion going on, but the price is up there, and the service is a bit lacking. Very nice serving staff, just not a lot of them. It's a seat yourself sign at the door, so you have to flag people for service. Again very nice staff, they really do care, they have a loyal local following. The food is good, but basic dinner/mexi food, it shouldn't take long to flips eggs and hashbrowns out. But it does take some time for them to get it out to you, the kitchen is probably small and under-staffed as well. Just can't support the large dinning room capacity. Domingos is one of the hidden gems we found on our trip to Santa Barbra. The food was excellent we actually went back there twice while on our trip and it felt like we couldn't make a bad choice from the menu. Our waiter was Thomas and he had a great sense of humor and he out of his way to make us feel like family. That being said when you go bring your appetite and you won't be let down. Thomas and his lovely staff made this breakfast experience so welcoming and delicious! I felt like one of the family when Thomas brought my Belgian waffle to the table and I said, "it would be amazing if you had whipped cream and strawberries to top it off." Without hesitation, he took my plate and came back not a minute later with strawberries and whipped cream even though it wasn't on their menu! My wish was his command! Every staff member was so friendly and smiling. It was obvious that in this family-owned business, they truly love what they do. We were time crunched to get to the airport which was very close and they wasted no time in bringing our order to the table. If I lived in Goleta, I would be a frequent customer--just like the couple the staff were so happy to see and hugged the returning customers as if they were family. One of the best diner experiences. The owner/host was awesome and super attentive. Even though chilaquiles wasn't on the specials menu that day, he asked the chef if he'd be willing to make it because "worst the chef can do is say no!" Okay food for breakfast. Waitress, older woman with long hair with a bow in it, needs to get out of the service industry. Seriously rude. Asked for more creamer and she said "I only have 8 hands!" Our meal was peppered with uneccesary snide comments any time we made a request, like for more water, an unprovoked "I'm doing the best I can!" and more comments such as these followed. I realize we were a large group of 16, but we put no extra demands on her and were all on the same ticket. We were patient knowing it's difficult serving so many people at one table, but our patience was rewarded with rudeness. If you eat here, avoid her. read more
