I like the more traditional flavors, but their options are amazing. The one thing that stopped me from giving this place 5 stars is that they don't know how to keep their line moving when they're busy. Parking is a bit hard. So I would suggest riding with someone who can hop out and get the iced for you. read more

I truly wish I could give this place more stars, but the service is just terrible. I live down the block and come there every now and then because the ice cream is great. However, after tonight I will for sure not be returning. The employees are clearly very miserable. I came up to purchase my usual Cake batter ice cream and the fat grumpy old man at the counter already looked upset. I accidentally referred to the ice cream as "Party Cake" and then corrected myself. To which his response was very nastily "Stop calling it party cake, its cake batter." with the most disgusting face and head roll i had ever seen. I decided not to let that bother me and continued with my purchase. I then ordered a pineapple cheese cake ice, and asked can i please have it in a to go cup with a top; in which an old fat blonde lady yelled from behind the counter "Now you can't!" Again, i chose to ignore until she felt the need to come to the window and very nastily say "If you want it to go you have to say right away or else I'm going to out it in a squeeze cup, how am i supposed to know what you want?!" Okay, i work retail and that is not how you talk to people. Its not a hard job to do. The whole place is set to go, there are no eat in options so i don't understand the problem. She should of simply said "Next time, let me know right away so I can put it in the appropriate cup" , Mind you I ordered a large and that doesn't even fit in a small squeeze cup, so again i don't understand the problem. Plus, i ordered with the guy in the front and she over heard and began to fulfill my order so i had no opportunity to voice how i wanted my ice to come. I told her that I'm sorry she is upset with her job but she does not have to be so nasty and she began to yell at me about how she wasn't nasty. I had to walk away. While i was walking away i still heard her bad mouthing me to a younger female working there at the time. The female seemed to be aware of the horrible service and looked as if she felt bad for me, i felt bad for her too. Another issue was i asked for a pint of mixed Pineapple Cheesecake and Cake Batter and the fat old guy (again upset) told me its two different prices so he can't do that for me. Again, I work in retail and I know the correct thing to do was to either charge me for the more expensive pint or to upcharge me. I had no problem paying for what i wanted. Overall, my experience was awful. When handed my ice cream i turned away, not wanting to ever return. I refuse to help a business who's employees are so miserable and nasty. Again, the ice cream is great but not worth it to get yelled at by angry employees, there is many more homemade ice cream places that will not give this type of treatment. After reading more reviews online i seen that i am not the only person to experience such horrible customer service. Dolly, I will not be returning until you hire new staff! I also will make sure to tell my peers about this awful experience. No one wants to be treated so poorly, especially while trying to enjoy something as wonderful as ice cream. read more

I have been going here since they opened. They have been around longer than Luigis and Dolly's is much better IMHO. We go 4 to 5 times a week. With so many great choices we never get tired of it. I have no gripe either with the service. As one reviewer said ... it is an ice shack ... get an awesome creamice and move on. read more

The ices flavors are pretty good; I'll give them that. But the attitude and pretentiousness of the two elderly staff is enough to make you lose your appetite. For overpriced iced, you would think they would kindly hand you a spoon or transfer your flimsy cardboard cup into a plastic one... but nooo, they huff and puff and point to a sign that says once it's handed to you they won't change the cup. Really?! It's all about customer service and going the extra mile. They just take the mile out from under you. PS: the stench of their cigarettes is gross. Smoke out back!! read more

These are really the best ices I have ever had. Every time I come here I try a new flavor because one is better than the next. My favorites are the strawberry cheesecake and rainbow cookie because they so creamy and delicious. Their ice cream is to die for including the banana creme pie and cookie monster. It was the go to place in their truck on Avenue U for years and years until Hurricane Sandy wiped them out. It's so wonderful that they opened their store again - same block as Mill Basin Deli. Best ices around. Ice cream too, but I've never ordered any. Numerous flavors. Complaints about service are probably valid, but no other ices taste as good. (I was there in March - no other customers - and the guy at the window was indeed unfriendly and grouchy. He gave me three scoops in a hard plastic drinking cup with a spoon since I asked for something that I could eat in a car. But those ices were indeed damn good.) read more

Very rude & Nasty people!! Their attitude stinks! The Soup Nazi was nicer. They come off with an attitude as if you should be honored to get an ice from them. I have news for them. Their ices are not worth their ridiculous prices and there are many other places in Brooklyn you can go! Like everyone else I have always passed by Dolly's on the bus. I always wondered what in the world is that little shack doing there...so one summer night after grabbing pizza my friend said hey "let's go to Dolly's".....I told him I never tried their ices or anything, he raved on about it...so we pulled right in front of Dolly's sans no line. The owner said to my friend "hey weren't you here earlier this week with another girl" we laughed because my friend said he does that all the time.... A couple of guys were on the side said they got caught like that....anywho I couldn't decide what to go for but finally decided on Tiramisu flavor, my friend had a almond joy and my sons had strawberry flavor...I was very impressed and Now i was the one raving about Dolly's ices on our car ride home. The service was fast and good no complaints here but I will be back, Dolly's is right around the corner for me. read more

the most miserable people in the world. they claim that their ices are homemade but i know for a fact they are not. you would think they would be nice people for the price that they charge for their ices. Its not just one person who is miserable, it is the whole family who works there, i guess they take after eachother.
