This store is very convenient but the problem I had one day is there customer service harable very rude, disrespect , unprofessional and acted very geto It was a younger girl that was speed on the main street Of EL Camino that when we happen to both drive into the same Parking lot where she almost t-bone me she got out of her, car a started to call me names #%@! ,yelling try to get in my face and bad mouth me. We both walk into the same store she work here at the 99 store .I went to complain to the manager right away and she dismissed like nothing because they were friend so I try to call corporate and they never returned my phone call. The worst customer service ever! One register open with 2 employees working. Finally they open another register but after the fact the line shortened. Worst experience ever. The cashier (Antoinette) charged me an extra item. I went back to her and told her. She had to look in my bag and count the item to see if I was lying. She told me that she couldn't refund me a simple dollar, A FREAKIN DOLLAR?! Even the manager was rude about it! She told me to just get something else (like I have time for that!). Maybe I'm being a little pushy about a dollar but the fact is that the customer service is way below average, plus I work hard for every dollar I make! I loved this store when it first opened a few years ago. Many useful and affordable things to purchase! I agree with Jennifer that this place has gotten messy over the last few years. Lower than a zero. The products are good. I recently purchased two mini fridge self pour pitcher like items along with 35 other items :0). First night i filled them I woke up to their contents leaked out of my fridge and all over my hard wood floors. So with labels still on I took them back to Dollar Tree Sunnyvale. I waited in line the cashier was sympathetic but said she needed to talk to the Manager. Hes behind some cryptic door that no one goes near. I approached and explained what happened and he stated with no receipt he couldn't exchange them. I explained I kept the other 35 things I bought but these just need to exchange. He couldn't care less he is a Hispanic man named G**** walked past me like the walking dead and for $2.00 I left the containers on the ground and like a ridiculous woman exclaimed I am going to Yelp you! The Dollar Store is really a new concept to me, what a great place to go and get gift bags, party supplies, cards, etc... The day I hit this Dollar Store, it was during the week on my lunch hour, so the place was actually pretty clean and organized, so based on reading the other reviews that might have been the best time to shop at this store. Very dirty store. I am not one to shop in the Dollar Tree, but occasionally I need something and will make a quick run, but this store is something else. Items all over the place, out of order, filthy floors, weird characters.. i could go on and on. On my last trip the cashier at the front of the store, I believe her name was Terri, was very rude to me when I asked her a question about the store. Affordable prices for all sorts of household goods. We buy cleaners, garbage bags, cards and snacks here. Some products are being opened before purchase and no one stops people from doing so. But there are still a lot of unopened ones for us to choose. There were several days that their system went down and accepted cash only. read more

I love this store, always has little items that cost 4 x less then the cost in even walgreens or other stores. I really miss the packing tape they had :( they havn't had it in awhile and I have been forced to pay $3 bucks at walgreens for one tube. Sidenote they have really cute garden items, some nice glass vases, killer little soapstone jewelry box's, and glass lil guadalupe icons. I love Dollar Tree. I was very anxious for this one to open because I had to drive to Milipitas or San Jose Foothills to go to one before. There's something really cool about walking out with bags of stuff when you only paid $15 or less. Some stuff I could use, some maybe.. maybe not. It's good retail therapy either way. I like to get cleaning products, gift wrap/bags, cards, school supplies, stuff like that. I always end up finding some trinkets or whatever that I didn't plan on getting. Last time, I found some Maybeline lip gloss and I love it! Never know what you might find! Exercise some integrity people even if the store is a wreck when you arrive! Wow, I was sure phillin it for the store employees that have to deal with shoppers wreckage. OMG, I was here last night and this store was a wild night nightmare of a multi mega madness mutated mess. The store itself looks like a 'hot mess' but all the ghettofied attitudes that the shopper bring to this store make this place look like a second hand store running second to a second hand store, but who am I to say especially since everything is a dollar. My assumption is that people go shopping here, get excited about the pricing of the items, look at $h!+, change their mind then just drop or toss stuff where ever...probably thinking: a dollar...thought ends and item drops to floor or is simply tossed to another spot instead of being returned to where it was picked up... And OMG...a Dollar Tree store where everything in the store is actually $1...what a concept! Wow, I did find two boxes of Bazooka Bubble Gum in the candy aisle...$1 each! I would avoid most of the cosmetics because they have may have been sitting on the shelf too long. The nail polish, for example, has separated into two distinct layers. There is usually just one checkout line no matter how busy the store gets. There is a decent selection of glassware, gift wrap, gift bags, and greeting cards, as well as rolls of USPS approved brown packaging paper. The snacks and food are high in sodium, sugar or artificial additives. Great place to get Ziploc bags. Many of the aisles look trashed because of the heavy foot traffic. I would recommend going when they first open on the weekend to beat the rush. They are next to DD's discounts, in the same shopping center as CVS. The parking lot is huge. read more

They have everything here. I love going here before a big party I can usually find at least 80% of what I need here. Joshua is great he helped me ring up almost 200$ worth of items which as you can imagine is a lot at the dollar store. Come on yelpers ! its the DOLLAR store...... I think our expectations have gotten wayyyyyy out of hand. Why would you have the such high expectations at the freakin' dollar store?!! Its the dollar store... you go in... get what you want and GET OUT!!!! The people working there are probably struggling to survive and most likely make minimum wage. Consider yourself lucky if you get a smile out of them. I go here to buy toilet paper, paper towels, toothpaste, body wash, dishwashing soap, hand washing soap, snacks, kitchen supplies. In the past, I have also purchased ovulation kits and pregnancy tests here. If you bought the same items at walgreens, your bill would probably be over 60 bucks! At the dollar store, I usually come out paying less than 10 bucks! (depending on how much I buy) where else can you get a deal like that? I was headed to the gym after work and checked my gym bag before I left the office and saw that I forgot to bring a gym towel. Nothing nastier than someone all nasty and sweaty at the gym with no towel to wipe themselves down with. 24 hour charges like 3.50 for a towel. I'm cheap, so I went here, picked up a $1 dish towel, and I was set. The store looked like it was all kinds of tore up because they just had received their shipment. It's your typical dollar store, and nothing terribly memorable about it. I might head back to grab some gift bags for Christmas ... but other than that I'll stick to Daiso for my $1 store cravings. read more

It's a good store for dollar store. Messy, crowded but... I mean, what else can you expect, right? It's $1 They have good stuff as gift bags, cards, decoration for holidays, office stuff... but I wouldn't buy, for example, food or make up there. This happened tonight 12/12/17. I came at around 9:30pm they close at 10Pm keep in mind. I was looking for my favorite chocolate. The Andes chocolate mint thins. I didn't even have a chance to look for them when I had an employee approach me and tell me that they are closed and the registers are closed. I was confused because they closed at 10. I then proceed to leave and then see them ring out several guest. All the employees were rude and distasteful. I work in retail I know how hard it is to deal with guest. Call me cheap but I love dollar stores. I dont recommend buying cosmetics and stuff here but this is a great place to buy stuff for birthdays, get together's, gift wrapping materials. I went in here randomly on saturday morning and I left extremely happy. I purchased all of my gift wrapping materials for $16 bucks.. and boy will my presents look pretty this year. I bought everything I was super stoked. The only downside is it is a little cluttered. But if I lived on my own this place would be heaven. haha. read more

I get it. It's the Dollar Tree. Do I expect great service? No. Do I expect to not be yelled at by the cashier while trying to buy a ribbon? Yes. Terrible and rude, I was in there w/ my son tonight, we are buying few items for the homeless. We were only there for about 30-40min, but I heard from the store announces over 10-15 times (and I'm not kidding, that's an average of every 2-3min), "If you are here with kids, make sure they are with you at all time, if they damage any item, you are responsible for them. Also they should not be holding any merchandise. Store security will be patrolling the area." (paraphrase) The first 3-5 times, I'm fine with it, I understand it's hard to keep store open and kids sometimes do damages stuff. HOWEVER, by the 10th time, I was totally annoyed. I know my son will not damage any merchandise and even if he does, I will pay for it. time after time of telling us the same thing is questioning our integrity. I'm really abhorred and offended. I had to grab my son with me at all time while I quickly finish up and line up (the line was super long too). I was fearing the security will come over and started yelling at me as my son was holding an American Flag which he wanted to buy. I love dollar tree and all their deals but this has to be hands down the worst experience I've ever had. Don't get me wrong the store itself was awesome as they carry everything from party supplies to kitchen utensils. I was just mostly upset at the service as they had 5 registers but only one was open despite the huge line across the store. If there was a way to give less than 1 star, I would give this place -5. We had a really bad experience yesterday with one of the staff members named Khushi. She was horrible as a sale rep. She was very very rude. She was impatient and made faces when we asked her to blow up 10 air balloons. She miscounted and blamed that we were taking more balloons than we originally paid for. I came here to buy small glass vases to be used for my wedding reception center-pieces. I purchased 13, as I needed 1 vase per table. After paying for the vases, I asked if I could have them wrapped in newspaper since I've gotten glass products from Dollar Tree before and had them wrapped, but this time I got a rude "we don't do that" reply. In generaly all of these dollar stores are the same. Same lay out, same cheap carpet and unhelpful employee's but what really did this place in for me was the lack of registers open. There were only two registers open when I went here and both had two different women with baskets (yes plural) filled with stuff. A wait that should have taken 5 or even 10 minutes took about 20 because the staff continuously messed up ringing the items up for the customers ahead of me. Also, when they decided to open up a 3rd register, a customer asked if she was open and she replied "no" but a moment later she said "yes" and everybody went running to the open register causing a not too pleasant exchange of words between customers.......Overall, you get what you expect when coming to these types of stores. I bought a whole bunch of supplies for my birthday party here, and it all cost me under $15. I'm talking plastic utensils, paper plates, tablecloths, napkins, etc. They have a small teacher section full of goodies one can give their students, and also a seasonal section with holiday goodies. I like the fact that I can buy 2 birthday cards for $1. They also have a whole selection of Shasta sodas....I like Shasta soda! read more

I was in today picking up a few random items and encountered a woman who I think forgot where she worked. Her name is Kim and had the nerve to confront a mother and try to discipline her child. Mind you, I was just watching, but if she had the nerve to speak to me or my child that way, she would have another thing coming. I am SOOOO addicted to this store!! There are some GREAT finds here. I don't expect the highest quality in the world, but for random nick nacks, once-a-year use kitchen goods, gift wrapping, cards, etc...you seriously can't find a better deal anywhere.
