I got sick of the $.99 Store, so I wanted to see what else was out there, and found the Dollar Tree. They sell similar stuff on some products, and somethings that the $.99 Store does not carry. Everything here is a buck, but there are some sale situations whih may cost an item less. Great values to be found here. If you're looking for decorations or party favors, deifnitely worth the trip, as it will cost less than say a Party City. Try them out if you haven't yet. It's a good change. read more

Trip 1: Picked up 30 cost-cutter wine glasses for a BBQ party and they were of pretty decent quality. Trip 2: I was shopping next door and needed some Pepto Bismol and bought their "regular strength" generic version (should be cheap) which was overpriced. Two tiny bottles for over $2.00 = "no bueno". Those need to be .50 a piece. This is how these co's make money though...some items are priced well and others are priced poorly so all works out for them. read more

I would give it a ZERO if it lets me. I will not shop at this dollar tree again. The attitudes of the employees here are down right unacceptable. The staff acts like they do not want to be but th there. It's really sad because if you do not like your job, you shounld't be there to make it a unhappy place for your customers. I was just in today to return some non season items that i bought 3 days ago. No where on the receipt does it said its non-refundable. I go to up to the cashier and she flat out told me the items was not refundable and that she would checked with her manager. She walked off and got her and started side talk to the manager. I could totally hear everything they were saying. The manager sounded like she was going to approved the transaction. However, since the cashier already told me that she wasn't going to do it. I was like WTH!! If you're going to side talk about me, please make sure i can't hear you and that your stories line up. So then the line started to backed up and customer was complaining and one of the customer got into my business telling me i was holding up the line. I let her have a piece of my mind and told her to pretty much stay out of it. I told the cashier that she could just call up another cashier. Sadly enough the only other person in the store was the manager and the cashier told me she doesn't do check out. EXCUSE ME!! I've been in the customer service industry for over 20 years and have never heard of such nonsence of a manager not ringing up because the line was backing up. I'm planning on calling corporate to see what will happen next. My recommendation to Dollar Tree is to send their employees to customer service classes before they put them on the lanes to help out customers. read more

Line was all the way to the very back of the store and was not moving. Only two cashiers at most on duty. No sanitized hand baskets or carts. No limiting of number of customers allowed in store. If I need dollar stuff from now on I'll go to the 99 Cents Store. read more

The customer service at this location is absolutely atrocious. I have been calling for 2 days straight to see if my online order has arrived and every time I have been told called back in 15-20 minutes. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that everyone is on a register and I am not able to hold for a manager. Came in last Wednesday around 5pm. There was a huge line and only one employee working the register while another employee just hung around doing nothing. They used to have a lot more variety and also more inventory for refrigerated items but it seems like they stopped getting shipment in or maybe it's just sitting in the back going bad? Not sure but I've gone multiple times and left half way thru shopping because they didn't carry the items I used to get anymore. Absolute most disrespectful and rude employee who turned out to be an assistant manager, Daisy. I was scolded for no reason and the rude and disrespectful employee argued with me when I asked if she thought was an acceptable way to speak to customers. I asked for a manager at the front to report it and then learned that she was the person in charge at the time. Another employee told me that I would be better off contacting corporate because they wouldn't care. Judging by the way they act, that is most likely true. I won't go back to this one until they teach their employees and managers how to act. read more

This store either needs new management or needs to be shut down. Everytime I come the shelves are EMPTY! I'm not just talking a couple things either, I mean at least 50% of the store is completely empty. Of course you can't beat the prices, and there are a lot of great products. However, this dollar tree specifically is always a huge mess with mostly empty shelves and half unloaded boxes throughout the aisles. Count on a long wait in line, too. Last time I was there the checker loudly asked personal questions to each person in line: "what are your plans for Easter?" I visited this Dollar Tree in hopes of ordering balloons for my daughter's first birthday party. They suggested I buy the balloons then bring them back the day-of to get them blown up -- they were unable to blown them up ahead of time and have them ready for pickup (that was a bummer). Also, they only had Mylar balloons, no solid colors. The whole experience was a bust. Needless to say, we left without buying anything. read more

PLEASE get more check stands open! You have 4 - 5 people working at a time but only one check stand open. It makes no sense!

When entering the store with a prior purchase (knowing I did not have the receipt), I approached the closest associate I could find to ask if I was able to exchange it, so it didn't look like I just picked it up off the shelf. After saying "excuse me" several times to the associate who was inflating the balloons, she finally acknowledged me with the type of glare that made me just want to turn around and walk out of the store. She said nothing to me, but waited for my question then answered, "I can't do anything for you. Store policy, bring your receipt." Needing to have a receipt is all fine and I understand policies, what I don't understand is why she looked at me and interacted with me in a way that I was interrupting her day?? From someone who works in customer service...My advice, if you're working in customer service, you must put on a happy face, no matter how your day is going. Terrible customer service. I bought a case of clear vases and when I got them home I realized they were not the size written on the box. I took them right back and they refused to refund my money. After standing in line for 15 minutes the manager told me I had to call the corporate office to get a refund. I called from the store and after another 10 minutes on hold they said no refund because the vases aren't defective. I argued that they're not the size advertised and was told that they can't guarantee they'll match the description. I'll never be back. read more

I love how friendly and organized the store is every time I go in. The associates greet you and are always multi tasking. I really appreciated there actions today. I was waiting patiently for checkout. I was forth in line. When there was only two of us left a lady with two cards came behind me and started to yell if they can open another register. The manager said there was only two people ahead but to satisfy the inpatient customer he asked his associate to open a register. I had to take a stand. I'm sorry but we all waited and this person has the audacity to ask to open another register. She stated I had to many items and did not want to wait for me. I told the associate, " I'm sorry but we have all been waiting paitently". He replied, "That's not a problem, I assist you." Truly couldn't be happier with my experience. Being the big cheapo that I am, I LOVE the dollar store. I use it to stock up on necessities like toothpaste, toothbrushes, cleaning supplies and hair accesories. Cheaper than Walmart on these items. Also whenever I step in here I feel like I am not in south OC... That's a good thing. read more

The store is awful simply put. Constantly cluttered, trashy, and disorganized, and floor staff does not exist here, so if you have a question you have to ask one of the poor cashiers, who are overworked and probably underpayed. The store is constantly understaffed, with only one cashier to check out customers and assist them with their questions. The portly female manager is frequently rude to customers and her employees, and constantly has an attitude. This is a great Dollar Tree, I've been to many others and they are all pretty comparable... For getting stuff for a buck what can you expect? I don't know why anyone would have the audacity to give this place anything less than 4 stars! The employees are helpful, friendly and keep the store organized the best they can considering some of the messy people that come in here and trash it leaving things on the floor etc... Any-who, these guys here must have a lot of patience and good sense of humor and pride! I love coming here! There's always something I've never seen or wanted to try for a buck and I like to try things for a buck... I even got Beano here once!!! There's a great teachers section, I'm not a teacher but I like to use the learning items to decorate my sons room and his windows with these cool window stickers etc... For parties and party gift ideas this beats the heck outta party city!!! If you have a 3-6 yr old kid or more than one, come get toys here and they'll be busy for at least an hour! And if the toys break, what do you care? It was a BUCK!!! So... 5 stars from me! Love this store, like the location, right off the FWY and near other shops and Del Taco!
