I shop all over the area and visit a number of DT stores. This one is the worst. Empty shelves with the same item occupying multiple locations to make the shelves look full while the aisles are clogged with carts full of merchandise waiting to be put away. It drives me nuts that the cashiers cannot ring up multiples of the same item by scanning one and entering the quantities. I'll be buying a case of energy drinks and the cashier has to scan the can 24 times while counting. Wastes my time, the cashier's time and the people in line behind me. I think a manager can ring up multiples with one scan. read more

Service was good by the only cashier / person I saw when I checked in and out. He frequently called for support due to exceeding line . The person he called for never showed , theirs items all on the floor that needs to be pushed and flexed into the aisle. If you're coming here do not be on a time schedule. I saw stacks of boxes sitting in a few aisles. Some preventing customers from seeing or being able to reach products. Small Dollar Tree in a small parking lot. It can be hard to find parking at this location since there is a Starbucks, Chipotle, and Panda Express in this location. I have shop at Dollar Tree in Martinez. I have gotten good customer service at this location. I ask about Alka 65 Alkaline Water and sometimes they have it in stock and sometimes it is out of stock. This just shows me exactly why I don't come back to this establishment and it's really sad to see that it's different workers each time. My experience a few days ago was simple but enough to make me not wanna go back anytime soon once again and I haven't been here for a while. This just shows me exactly why I haven't been here. We went in and got the basket to carry around and got quite a few things for stocking stuffers for my niece myself my mom and a few other people in my family. We spent quite a bit just trying to make other people's Christmas a little brighter because this time around it's a little bit harder for all of us. When we got up to the cashier and she had to ring up all of our stuff I don't know if she had some medical condition happening but she was shaking really bad and she seemed to be pretty upset nobody was helping her. We had quite a few things and she decided to tell us rudely wow you've got quite a bit of stuff and just proceeded to be rude throughout the whole visit. Then was smikishly laughing with the person behind us. Talking crap about us right in front of us. Totally excluding our feelings when we are paying customers. I'm sorry you only have two registers open and three or four in total. I feel bad that she had something wrong with her but you're at work so you shouldn't make people feel like they don't want to come in and buy stuff from your store because now I don't. I try to come back and see if this place changed since my last visit but I see that nothings really changing just different people that's it. read more

If you want to support a company that will damage the sales of everyone in the complex shop here. Their district manager has them receiving a semi's worth of freight in the middle of the day 10am-1pm blocking the small complex's parking lot of more than 10 spots and making you not able to drive or walk through. Major props to Leamon for all that he does. He seems to be the ONLY worker here. Hispanic lady, whom I'm guessing is the manager just sits on her a$$ in her office while the lines pile up. The last time I was here, a customer went up to her window and asked for a cashier & she paged him! She could've got off her butt and rang everyone up. Mind you, he was stocking merchandise at the time. & TODAY, Leamon was helping a customer with balloons and the line got over 8 customers deep and this lady has the nerve to pat him on the arm, take the till and walk out. Leamon deserves A raise for outstanding customer service. They are thankfully open later during this holiday season. For some reason there are only two store employees working the eve before Christmas Eve. He was fast,friendly, gave a great tip on saving money and was upfront with the cost on some of my items so I wouldn't be surprised when they rung up. The Store looks like a tornado hit it. but, I guess that's what happens during the crazy holiday madness. They definitely need a third worker at night. This Dollar Tree is STRAIGHT trash.....always super unorganized and the people who work here have terrible TERRIBLE attitudes. Today they're out of bags AGAIN.... I Went in for a few things and my 5 year old needed to use the bathroom...they have 2 bathrooms so I asked for the key. The girl at the register said "we don't have a key anymore". I asked if she uses the bathroom and she told me no....so I said "for your 8 hour shift you just don't use it? That sounds dumb and illegal for this store to not have an employee bathroom" so I raced to Starbucks to let my daughter use the bathroom. Went back to buy my items and asked the cashier what the name was of the manager of the store she looked me dead in my face and said "She doesn't like us to give her name out" WHAT?!?! Thats how you know the store is all the way trash because the manager is embarrassed of her own store and tired of hearing complaints about it. Me and my roommate went t9 this dollar tree today which is July 12,20023 and the cashier leamon an older black guy was very rude and it was at 2:36pm and he also smelled bad and looked like he doesn't like his job amd never asked my roommate who is disabled for any bags and had to carry her stuff and when he was bagging my stuff he just man-handled my stuff like he was the hulk. Great place to get Covid! Cashiers had masks on chin only even though they have a sign on door requiring customers wear masks. Guess they're not saying mask has to actually be over your nose or mouth! I asked before having her ring up items if she was at least vaccinated and her answer was a robotic repeating "I love my body". Is that a yes or no?! I left immediately because I love my body too and saving a few dollars isn't worth it! This was my first time in this store, thought I'd try to save some money on gift wrap. Heads up when placing an online order. It was a unpleasant experience for me today. I placed an order on 12/26/2020. I got an email on 1/12/2021 and told me to pick up the order by 1/19/2021 which is today. When I got to the store, Olaf, who told me that she is the manager assistant, said the order wasn't ready to be picked up and I was supposed to get a phone call from their manager before I go pick up the order. She said my item might be in the back but she doesn't have time to grab it. I told her the email indicated that today is the last day to pick up the order. And I asked her to give me the store phone number so I can call tomorrow and check with the manager. She told me to google it in a very rude tone. It wasn't a good experience. BACKGROUND: During our coffee run, my hair tie broke. Decided to purchase a pack at The Dollar Store Martinez due to the next door proximity and our day was no where near coming to an end for the evening. SCENARIO: It was 2/1/2020 @ 4:55pm there were 2 checkout lanes open with no one in line behind me. The store was not busy. I chose lane 2 and the cashier, best described as middle aged, silver haired, thin small framed Caucasian female, informed me that her "lane was closed and the cashier on line 4 can assist me with checkout." Not a problem, I headed to line 4 without issue and as directed. THE ISSUE: As I waited in line 4, the same woman who told me her lane was closed, immediately assisted a couple - AFTER I was turned away. Last I check, I too am a customer in your store, yet why was I was not served or helped? THE NON-RESOLUTION: With my item on the conveyor belt on line 4, still waiting to check out, I walked up to the cashier of line 2 and asked "Did you not tell me you were closed and directed me to another line? Why did you help this couple, immediately after you turned me away, if you were closed?" Blank stare and no intelligible word came out of her mouth. No apology, no explanation. I returned back to lane 4 and when inquiring if there was a manager on site, was informed that the cashier that turn me away is the manager. CONCLUSION: If you are looking to shop in a place with ZERO customer service, a manger who cherry picks who she wants to assist with no regard of value or fairness of their customers, then this place is for you. Bought these bags awhile ago from dollar tree and I used them everywhere I go. Today I used them to shop at dollar tree and the cashier accused me of stealing them. I told her I bought them, and she continue to tell me they look new from today and she would open my bags, look at them back and forth and telling me, am I sure I bought them? Like yes I said I did, and she would go check the stores reusable bags to see if I stole them. Lady, it's dollar tree, you can keep them if you're that afraid. Why is it call "reusable bag" if you can't reuse them? Nobody has time to steal from dollar tree. It seems like, no matter where you go in the 925, you're never too far from Dollar Tree. Which is good for cheapskates like me. This one is on the way to Walmart. And it's like most Dollar Trees in this area. Household goods, kitchenware, school supplies, and health food :-D It doesn't look big from the outside, but there's lots of square footage, so you're not crammed in and there's a sizeable selection inside. Obviously not for high-rollers. So why only two stars? The parking lot. There's not much you can do with such a small plot of land, yet the developer also crammed in a Chipotle, Panda Express, FedEx, and a few other shops. It's so easy to start a traffic jam without trying. And Arnold Drive is a no-parking zone, so street parking is out. Dollar Tree is in a convenient location, and many times, we stop here too on our Walmart trips. But I still get nervous going into that parking lot. And I've parked near Modesto Junior College and driven a minivan through downtown Philly, so not much makes me nervous. However, we did meet this nice lady that was super friendly and cleaning up all the gift bags and all the isles and the cashier was doing his thing moving the line but it was pretty big overall one of the cleaner dollar trees even though people might seem crazy, however, where we live compared to this one. It was super clean, super friendly, and they have a lot more items that were used to. Now remember it's not a dollar no more it's $1.25 so be prepared when you go to the store use your card because the coin shortage is it mention the moment you walk in and when you're at the register the parking lot is not the biggest so make sure you be careful there is a panda express and it's a pretty busy one so as you're pulling in to the parking lot do your best to be safe and enjoy the spot read more

I'll never understand why we have to give one star reviews and cannot give zero stars. If I could give zero stars I would. I walked into this location today to order balloons. Immediately I was yelled at by the African American cashier telling me I needed a mask. Today is June 23, 2022 and there is no mandated mask mandate in effect. Nor do they have any signs on their door. I opened the door to walk out and stood outside and asked him how I could order balloons. He said we are out of helium. I said I don't need them until next Monday. He repeated we are out of helium. Thinking he did not hear me I said I heard, but I don't need them until next Monday can I place an order. He repeated himself a third time using the exact same words we are out of helium. These ladies are amazing! I was searching for some Nurses Day balloons. They had them in stock, let me know they had two different kinds, took my order over the phone (including the metal festive holders) and by the time I got there they were done. They even asked if they wanted them in different groupings and wrapped them up so they wouldn't tangle. The Manager and assistant have the best customer skills I've seen in quite some time. Stopped in here on our way to Wal-Mart this weekend when we saw the new stores in this lil plaza. They haven't been open very long. Starbucks, Dollar Tree, one or two others... about a block before Wal-Mart. We received the friendliest greeting ever when we entered! The store was clean and spacious - though a little smaller than most Dollar Stores. It had a great selection of frozen foods. We grabbed a bottle of Mr. Plumber liquid drain cleaner for $1 (then saw it at WalMart for $0.97 cents!) :) and some tissue paper (holidays are coming!!) Went to this dollar tree today at 12:00 pm the cashier LONZO was yelling at everyone coming without a mask. Didn't know we needed one since it's mandated. So was shopping around by the time I came to check out he was the only one there he was rude said not to unload my basket that it's policy is for him to do it. The absolute WORST service i've ever received in a retail. store. As someone who works in retail this was ridiculous. We waited over 30 minutes trying to get help trying to get balloons. The first lady we asked was so rude and said "i'm off" with such an attitude, we asked two more people and nobody helped us. but one worker still managed to yell at my niece for touching a toy. We ended up leaving all the things we were going to get and went to the party with out balloons. Wow...I asked for some balloons to be blown up. Because I am trying to make my sons covid birthday extra special I asked that the balloons (6) have weights on each of them. The woman first ignored me and told me I could do 2 balloons per weight. I said no I would like one per and I'll pay extra if I have to. A separate woman checker leaned over and said I could have 1 weight per. THANK YOU! The woman checker helping me wasn't helping me put weights on the balloons she just kept handing me balloons on string and I needed both hands to tie the weights on! I said hold on please slow down and she got upset with me and told me to just hold them and finish checking out....ok, no problem. Again, how do I hold balloons and checkout?! So she offered to hold them, but didn't?! So I waited while she scanned my items and she kept telling me to pay, I kept asking her to hold the (weightless) balloons so I COULD pay. Meanwhile a man employee who was just unloading boxes watching the lines get longer, which was stressing my checker out (clearly) said out loud that I was being COMBATIVE. Are you kidding me, Sir?! If you were actually paying any attention to the interaction taking place, perhaps you would have stepped up And helped out instead of assuming it was me being combative! This woman would ask to do something then tell me to do something else, it was confusing and I was having trouble being an octopus so she could rush me out of there! Then to top it off she wouldn't bag my items, so I nicely asked for a bag and she ran my card then said super mean, TEN CENTS! I said, wow, ok you could've asked me that before I paid! She said I did, and the woman in line behind me clearly saw what was happening and offered to pay my bag fee. I pulled a dime out of my pocket and set it down and left. Unreal. Hey corporate or management, just because you're a dollar store doesn't mean you have to have dollar employees. Hire more staff to Cover the business during busy hours so employees aren't so stressed by the lines, that they are mean to customers. Funny enough the two customers after me (I know this because I had to go back and tie weights onto my balloons) all wanted balloons. I know for a fact the checker told a woman they were out of balloons they had (I could see them!) merely because she didn't want to do it and was clearly trying to discourage balloons. Business lost. As long as I've been alive, I've never stepped foot into any type of dollar only store. This year is different, I'm on a budget for Christmas. I also now have 4 small kids that live in my house. I needed stocking stuffers. 4 kids, 4 stockings to fill could be a lot of money. Here is where the Dollar Tree comes to the rescue. I found so many things for them, plus a little extra stuff for me. All for only $70. The kids toy aisle had more than enough stuff to play with. I got plastic space guns, glow gloves, small science kits where you grow your own crystals, candy and more candy. They have puzzles, coloring books, pencils. For the girls I found an array of hair-do items. They even had kids socks for both boys and girls. For me I found some really cute cookie cutters, clear tape (for presents) and a small bottle of rubbing alcohol. I had no idea they have the basic pantry type items for $1. Good bye Walmart, hello Dollar Tree! It's a bit messy in here and busy. It was right before Christmas and apparently other moms have the same idea as me so I can totally see why it's a mess here.
