Today I went into this location and spent $54.50. I had a conversation with the associate Lorelei about the Happy Habits reward card and when I got home I realized she didn't put one in my bag. I called the store and spoke with Lorelei about what happened. She didn't offer to mail me a card. Instead she said I had to come back to the store and get one. That was her only solution. I have to waste my time and gas because of her mistake? I called back and asked to speak to a manager and the gal that answered the phone handed me off to Lorelei! Lorelei didn't identify herself by name or title and simply said "hello?" I didn't bother going further with this ridiculousness. Lastly, I wasn't offered a sample piece of candy. I grew up with See's Candies. When my mom worked in SF, there was a location across the street from her office. I got the best treats for every occasion from See's. This shop is the one we've shopped at for years and that will never change. The candy is so good and the staff here so nice and helpful. They always have such great offerings for all occasions. I bought chocolate Seegars to pass out when our son was born. My mom buys chocolate Santa's and turkeys to place on our dinner table for Christmas and thanksgiving dinner. My brother and I were there yesterday on Friday around noon and the girl behind the counter at the shop who helped us was so wonderful and friendly. We got the one-pound box and we were a little indecisive with what we wanted, but she was really patient with us. She really accommodated us by letting us take our time making decisions on which chocolate candies that we wanted. And there was so much to choose from. I loved the variety that they offered. And, at the end, she gave us complementary chocolate candy each, and I opted for the Bordeaux which was absolutely delicious. The price for the one-pound box was $32 as of June of 2024. While it might be a little pricey for me, the chocolate candies were just delectable. I especially enjoyed one of their new additions: the birthday cake chocolate, which tasted just like a delicious birthday cake pop. The chocolate shop itself was very clean, neat, and organized. The shop was fully air-conditioned against the hot summer outside, so it felt really nice to be inside. It was a nice shopping experience through and through. Parking was extremely easy as well. The service at this See's candy store is impeccable. Bernadette remembered my husband from the last time he came in and just greeted him like he was an old friend. Janus also welcomed us with a warm hello. They asked us which sample we would like instead of just giving us some random ones we wouldn't like. We always like creating our own box and Bernadette was so patient with us as we made our selections. She even encouraged us to try some different ones we would like based off our preferences and they were perfect! A pound of the Dark Nougat is all I can eat. When I told the sales assistant that it was just for me and that I was fine with putting them in a bag, he went above and beyond to put them in a box. It was her preference because she didn't want the items to be damaged in transit. It was a pleasure doing business with you! I ordered custom boxes online- I was able to pick out the exact candies that my family members love in custom percentages. I received an email letting me know when my order was ready. When I came to pick it up, there was a huge line. I was able to bypass the line and pick up my order with no wait or hassle. I will tell you that this did not work as smoothly last year, but it seems that they have worked out the kinks. I was worried that it wouldn't be taken but the lovely lady assuaged my fears by pointing out that it's worth $19 and it never expires. I snatched a box filled with See's lollipops (cafe, butterscotch, vanilla, and chocolate flavors) that cost $18.30. The lady then suggested I used the full potential of my gift certificate and grab a solo chocolate. I chose the marzipan. I even got a free sample of one of the truffles too. Parking is super easy. I have shopped this store for years. The last couple have been on-line pickup orders. I placed an order for valentines day never received a notice to pick up so I called. After searching she found my order and said we are out. I said thanks for the call to let me know and she said the fact I didnt get a pickup notice was the same as their cancellation. Now that Blondie's Pizza and Tower Records have moved on, this part of Pleasant Hill across the street from Sun Valley Mall is a little lonely. And besides, we're still recovering from all the See's boxes we received over the Holidays.
