I needed several items, I was nearby, so I thought, "Why not?" And now I know. Cluttered aisles and empty shelves with boxes on them, but only ONE cashier, who was listening to her music the entire time I was being checked out. The lady ahead of me was having problems with her debit card being accepted, needing to try multiple times before giving up. I offered to buy her $3 worth of items, but she explained she needed to withdraw some cash. My cashier smiled and said, "Oh, take your time!" Nice for that customer, but everyone in line (around 10-12 of us) was standing there several minutes longer because of that customer. When I was about 5th in line, the cashier needed someone to fix a problem and called. I wish that guy had noticed how long the line was, and staffed another register. read more

I have been running around this area for a bit now and have tried to hit up as many Dollar Trees as possible so I know which one is the best one. Basically, I am doing this to find a reliable Dollar Tree to make my go to place for all things cheap. I figured that this might be a lucky spot, especially since it's neighbor is the other portion of the company, I walked in and did my slow crawl through the aisles. Like most Dollar Trees out there, it is hit or miss. There are a lot of things that are lacking on the shelves. But it was nice to walk through here and pick up a few items that I know would cost a bit more on other store's shelves. The biggest thing this location is lacking is the fast reliable staff. The staff that were working on the floor were great. They just needed more of them. The lines at the register were a bit long which made for a longer wait that there should have been. read more

Bring shopping bags with a handle. They have paper bags now. It isn't so easy to carry the bags because they are a little awkwardly shorter than most. Now after getting to my car, I remember what I came here for PAPER NAPKINS! Needless to say, $31 later... there's not a napkin in site! I did get some werthers original caramel hard candy. I love this little store, messy isles and all. They always seem to have little things I'm looking for and ones that grab my attention. There's two cashiers that are very nice and conversational. Mrs. Kathy and then a younger tall gentleman who seemed to know a lot of customers. Some customers just peaked their head in to say Hi! It was refreshing to see and hear. They helped me realize how much I missed human interaction. read more

My friend, who never shops at these kinds of stores asked me if we could pop in here after our hot breakfast pretzel fix across the street. Went to pick up some things today and the women on the cashier was on the phhone arguing with someone . I was looking for cents to give her exact change and she Rudly told me to pick up my money that you don't put money on the counter that you give it in the hand . i title my review: "Hot Ghetto Mess" This store is always a mess. A disastrous mess. Today was no exception. The aisles were crowded with unpacked merchandise and littered with garbage and items on the floor. The floor has been replaced with an ugly cream tile linoleum which does nothing to hide the filth and clutter this store suffers from. The cashiers are uncouth having inappropriate conversations about colleagues within earshot of customers. They lack professionalism and refinement. I dont need to overhear conversations about a co worker taking the day off to get her hair done. The lines are always long due to only one or two cashiers on hand. The most disturbing part of my shopping experience is the clutter. CLUTTER EVERYWHERE!!! Even in the ceiling. There were at least one hundred rogue helium balloons strewn about the store ceiling. Dangerous string dangling from the sky tempting children and tickling customers as they push their buggys around. Speaking of shopping carts. Some shopping carts were inoperable, one defunct cart was left in the doorway blocking the entrance. Not one Dollar Tree employee felt compelled to remove the defunct shopping cart out of the way. This store needs new management. Its the worse Dollar Tree I have EVER been to. read more

Like Jen said, almost everything is $1.00, A few items !less! like 1 pound salt 59 cents. I've also picked up some semi-disposible electronics, like ear buds to carry around with my phone. Cleaning supplies are my main thing - I think the dishwasher powder is actually better than brand names, and the bowl cleaner dissolves the stains - who cares how it smells, 60 seconds later that's WSSC's problem. I was concerned about snacks at first, but found that due to fast turnover they are generally fresh. If what you need is "good enough" and/or expendable, this just might be the place. Just align your expectations. And a side use - the value of items available here is a handy measure of the current value of the US $ versus the Chinese RMB. (8 medium eggs as of today) read more

Holy crap. This Dollar Tree is so messy it gives me extreme anxiety. That is honestly the reason 2 stars are knocked off. Its very hard to navigate a cart around here. You can't knock the deals at a Dollar Tree, though. Best things to buy at a $Tree: cleaning supplies, party supplies, canned goods and candy (for the sweet tooth)! It's always the same 2 girls working the registers and they are very sweet. There will be a line to the back of the store and they always apologize (girl, its not your fault!). ***I'm updating my review since I have gone back to this specific location and also been to the dollar tree in columbia. Subsequent trips to this location reflected a much neater and organized store than my first visit. The party supply section in particular is very good. Helium balloons are $1 including helium. This location has much more selection than the Columbia one. I'm knocking off several stars mainly for lack of organization and messiness. They carry decent selection of items like other Dollar Trees but this location was especially unorganized. Great place to go for party supplies. read more

I've tried calling this location during COVID-19 and no one is answering. It appears that they are picking up the phone and hanging up. This is not the time to have poor customer service. Thankful that Silver Spring store is answering. The service at this Laurel store isn't good anymore. This place is now the Dollar Tree in the same shopping Center as the Village Thrift Store. I saw it when I was visiting the thrift shop, so I decided to take a look. Unlike most other dollar stores nowadays, EVERYTHING in this store is really one dollar or less! It is a huge place, with things like: Holiday Decorations Kitchenware Dinnerware School/art supplies Various cards Some clothing Snacks/Candy Cleaning supplies Party supplies An area on the side to blow up helium balloons etc... The people at the counter were also very nice. I got a Christmas card, and they told me they were going to put it in one of the books I bought so it wouldn't get bent. I also got an ice cream bar, which they handed to me after ringing it up, asking me if I wanted to eat it. If you are not too concerned about quality (I stayed away from the kitchen preparing appliances and shampoo), I would recommend this place. I would go back again if I ever needed to host a theme-related party or get wrapping stuff for the holidays. read more

Desperately needed some party supplies and came here . I was happy and score ! i got everything i needed and plus. From napkins decorations plates the works. They were well stocked and had all the snacks chips drinks and everything. Yes there's a smell but it comes with the cheapo prices . Just a warning The customers were a bit rude to me , one called me a profanity because I walked behind her. The associates were very kind and friendly and greeted me. I never thought I would be the type of person to review a dollar store, but this place is a dump. On my most recent visit, I waded through aisles that were a) empty. seriously. the shelves were almost wiped of product. b) full of the products I'm assuming go on the shelves on the floor. It was a complete and utter mess. The selection of items was despicably poor, the cashiers seemed as excited to be there as I was, and the clientele were indeed Laurel's Finest. Whew. I wish i didn't have to give this place any stars. I've grown tired of going to this location and have started going to the one in Bowie Town Center instead. The Laurel location looks a HOT MESS the moment that you walk in. Merchandise is unorganized and all over the floor. There are ALWAYS only 2 cashiers at a time while there are lines of customers down the aisles. Customer service is TERRIBLE! They need better management and the store needs to change for the better. This is one of the biggest dollar trees I have been to. They have name brand items and Ive found out you can even use coupons here. Using coupons on $1 items helps my family out tremendously and Tammy was so awesome at directing us with the coupons and even showing us where items were. The only issue I have is that the store isn't that clean, its very crowded as well. Nice location, prices and very helpful employees thanks! read more

I had to give this a one star...if I had a choice..I would have given it no stars...the first thing you see when walking in is the fact that there is a ton of trash littered all over the floor! A dirty public bathroom is cleaner than this store! Then the noise! They were hardly stocked on anything! The one ppsitive thing I can say...is that the lady at the checkout line was nice and greeted us immediately. Never going back...If you're desparate...hit the family dollar at the shopping center next to Maryland City. It's clean, quiet, and a much better experience...if you choose to shop in Laurel. I have never been more disgusted in customer service than now. Melissa who I believe is the manager, was rude to every customer walking in the door and slamming carts. I ordered a case of candy canes and was emailed to pick them up, I was informed at the store that they werent in and to try back later.
