A bonfire was burning in the front yard and some guys were relaxing around it, seemingly taking a break from yard work. I followed the sign into what I thought was a small building, to find the shop. Okay, I was wrong. The shop was not exactly small. It had a great selection of ceramic ware, lots of new exposed wood and some great blues playing over the stereo system. I found a funky green spiral looking mug for about $32. it has some heft, holds about 14 ounces and gets lots of compliments at work. You should head over to their website to see what they offer - many types of ceramic ware, classes and even some music series. I'm going to have to make it a mission to get out there a bit more this year.

I couldn't actually find the place vis GPS because it's actually in a larger building. Being a clueless tourist, I called and Tess kindly gave me some directions... they are across from Ledo pizza! It features an amazing assortment of fun, locally made, crafty artsy items like magnets, cards, clothes and much more. It's really pretty large and quite fun to explore. I bought artsy, unique, colorful Maryland and DC fridge magnets because my fridge door is not quite full and we love the area. Lucy helped us on our second visit and was also gracious and welcoming. They have a large assortment of in-house made flavorings for lattes so my wife was very happy. My pure double espresso hit the spot and got me going! Sounds like a really cool group activity. And there's still more --- they have a quaint cafe on the back wall! I got myself a caramel brownie, almond croissant, and chocolate croissant. The brownie was fantastic -- I'll report back on the other two, but I have high hopes. Drinks are available too. Aside from the crafting tables, you may have to take your stuff outside to snack. I'm unsure whether you can sit at those tables with food & drink -- I should've asked!

Two people involved in counting and cashiering is a recipe for mistakes (whether accidental or deliberate). In our case, it cost us $5.35 more than it should have on a roughly $40 purchase, which we had no way of determining until we got home and audited the receipt (since they put all the loose beads in one bag mixed together). They failed to charge us for $1 of product, but simultaneously charged us too much per bead for one item (.25 instead of .20/ea.) and for too many of another kind of bead (8 instead of 2). My advice would be to keep walking and check out the other two stores farther down the street. I shop antique stores regularly and understand that pricing can vary based on condition, rarity, and the individual seller, but the difference here was significant enough that I would not personally shop here again.
