On Friday, June 13th, 2025, at around 9:55 PM, I experienced one of the most unprofessional and threatening encounters I've ever had in a retail setting at this Dollar Tree location. My card declined due to a fraud alert from my bank. While I was on the phone resolving it (which was going to take just a few minutes), a man who claimed to be the manager suddenly stepped in, dismissed the cashier, and began rushing and disrespecting me. I explained that I needed just 5 minutes, but he insisted I leave everything and go. He then told me, "That's not my problem, you should've checked out earlier," despite the fact that the store hadn't even closed yet. When I asked why he was being so rude, he escalated immediately--threatening to call the police, cursing at me, and saying "I am the FUCKING manager"* when I asked to speak to one. When I requested his name, he screamed, "I'm not giving you my FUCKING name."* The aggression was unnecessary, unprovoked, and hostile. I felt extremely unsafe. I am a young woman, and he was invading my personal space, yelling directly in my face, and cursing loudly while the rest of the staff stood by and said nothing. Even after I stepped away, he continued to shout and even flipped me off as I left the store. He also screamed at my younger sister, who had already paid, telling her she wasn't allowed to take her items. No manager should behave like this, and Dollar Tree corporate needs to be aware of the liability this individual poses to both staff and customers. Since he refused to give his name, here is a description: * Male, around 5'6" * Long black hair in a bun * Long unkempt beard * Thin build, scrawny * Black tattoo on left wrist * Wore khakis and a mask, black glasses I've already filed a corporate complaint and will continue to pursue this. What happened was not just poor service--it was aggressive, threatening behavior, and I will not tolerate being treated that way in a place of business. I feel the NEED to tag on to what Amber C said. I don't work there and have never but I have witnessed Jackie being disrepectful to her colleagues (african american and white) and if customers are within ear shot it equates to being disrespectful to customers as well. Have you ever had a manager and cashier ask you to go to a different register because of an issue with a guest in front of you? How about after, the manager and cashier politely grab your items, physically take your items to a different register all to have them abandon you at that register? Managers Jackie and Steve are horrible, Jackie treats her white workers like dog shit and Steve just backs her up. When I worked here I made it clear I wouldn't work with Jackie because of how she treated me and then I got fired because of it, like don't you work with your workers? Especially when you yourselves reported her to hr for how she was behaving. Not to mean the fact I was never even told I was fired till I came in 2 weeks later wondering why I haven't been put on the schedule. The workers work hard and when I was there the managers bee and ira were amazing to their workers but Jackie and Steve were the worst managers I have ever dealt with in my life. I'm an avid dollar tree shopper, mostly because I love crafting. After the last 1.5years, I completely understand how exhausted store employees must be. But there are some things that are completely inappropriate no matter what. I was at this store around 8 tonight. As always, only one lane to check out was open with multiple people in line. While the female cashier was helping a lady with balloons, a male employee opened up another lane and people from the original lane started going over to the second lane as they were told to go over. One of the ladies in front of me was told to go over to the second lane but apparently the male cashier didn't realize and told her she needed to go over and wait in line. There was some back and forth and the female cashier spoke up and acknowledged that she told the woman to go to the second lane. The lady got a little upset and decided to walk out of the store with her young kids and baby while the man she was with checked out. You'd think that'd be the end of it, but of course not... As the woman is heading out of the store, the "manager" comes out of the office and confronts the woman and starts saying "you don't ever talk to my employees like that..." and so on. There was some back and forth between them and the woman left. The situation was definitely a misunderstanding at first and the manager should not have come out of the office yelling like that when she wasn't even there to really witness what happened, but misunderstandings happen...but it doesn't end there... After the woman walks out, the manager keeps running her mouth in front of other customers, children, and the woman's husband, which I don't think she realized was the husband. "She doesn't know where I'm from," "I am not the one," "I'll throw hands," and so on... and to top it all off...."fat ass bitch." So not only is she confronting customers with young children for no reason, continuing to run her mouth after the customer is gone, cussing and making threatening statements about a customer, calling a customer out of their name, but doing this all in front of other customers and their children. Of course the husband ends us speaking up and there's more back and forth, rightfully so on the part of the husband. All of this was completely inappropriate and completely unavoidable if 1, dollar tree would figure out how to efficiently run check out lines, and 2, if this "manager" would not have butted in, yelling, before having any idea what was actually happening. I saw the family outside and they were visibly upset. I asked the woman if she was okay and she mentioned that another customer also approached her asking if she was okay and saying how wrong the manager was. If children wouldn't have been involved and the manager wouldn't have continued on with the threatening statements in front of other customers/children, I probably would not be writing this review. But as someone who has worked customer service for years, this woman should not be working here and definitely should not be a manager. Just went looking for toilet paper; saw several people with carts full of toilet paper, hand sanitizer & cases of ramen noodles. I asked a woman who verified she's an employee if they had toilet paper. First she said no, then she said. "I have to take of my employees first." So much for kindness. I will not be shopping here in the future. Also, there were boxes of stock everywhere & employees seemed to be huddled in the back. Maybe the store should be closed & Dollar Tree should have employees stay home. read more

Update August 2019: store is even worse than the last time. All the same grime and trash is still everywhere but now the shelves are becoming empty, there's huge sections of shelves completely empty. There's shelving units half assembled and shelves leaning against merchandise. There's somehow even more balloons in the rafters even though they haven't had helium in months. There are employees hanging out while only one teller is open and 15 people are in line. I don't know how all management of this store hasn't been fired. It's disgusting and I only took pictures while I waited in line for 20 minutes. There was probably plenty more to see if I had time to look around. May 2019: Disgusting. This stores leadership clearly doesn't take pride in their work. The entire store is filthy. It's clearly not from a day or even a week of neglect. The floors look like they haven't been swept, or mopped in months. There are dozens of deflated balloons hanging from the rafters all over the store. There was a manager on their cell phone while the lines at the registers each had well over 10 people. Another employee was sitting in the office and didn't appear to be very busy. Geez I used to love having Dollar Tree close to my son's work. They were friendly and stayed open an extra hour after his shift ended so he could grab something after work. They're nice to browse during that last hour if he works late. But I just found out that this location just started closing at 9 instead of 10. It isn't the fact your store closes an hour earlier now.... I get it, woohoo! Get out earlier sounds great to the employees that work there.... But finding out by getting a rude." YOU GOT TWO MINUTES!" As you walk in the door at 8:55. And when asking about it. They reply with "we close at 9." When just last week I was there at the same. Like it just has always been and I must be losing it. I love Dollar Tree itself and they have an excellent selection of items. However, I have experienced some of the worst customer service and encountered the most rude staff at this particular location. The manager cashed me out on 5/23. I asked him to double bag a bottle of bleach and he rudely snapped at me and said I already double bagged the items. I stated I need the bleach double bagged. Seriously have never been treated as poorly as I have been at this place. The employees are so grouchy and down right rude. It's usually messy and in shambles and they are never in any hurry to help- if you need to ask for assistance be prepared for loud sighs and grunts as they don't really want to help you. I imagine this behavior/attitude comes from how they are managed and likely unhappy with work- but something here needs to change because it is a miserable place to go.
