Usually I hate cheap stores because they sell poor quality products. This particular place seemed to have good products at excellent prices. It appeared pretty clean and staff were pleasant. Options are pretty limited, but definitely worth a visit before you go elsewhere for other shopping as you'll probably save at least a few bucks. Plan on returning soon. read more

Come here a lot cause it's close by the house, the morning cashiers always look so unapproachable. Particularly a tall, heavy set, white lady, the people in front of me had excellent service but when I stepped up to pay she just kept looking at me like I was the scum of the earth. Today while shopping for cleaning items my husband seen a employee bring out 2 packs of toilet paper from the back and give them to another shopper so he asked if there was anymore available and the employee told him to stand right there because they would be bringing it out of the back not 2 minutes later the manager came over yelling I'm so tired of you people, don't you have anything better to do, I'm so tired of you people move or I'll have you removed from the store. My husband tried to explain to the manager the employee said to wait where he was standing but the manager just kept yelling and being rude and aggressive. This shop is a typical .99 cent store, it is typically picked up, karts are normally out in the correct spot. Staff or the cashiers are friendly and efficient. Prices that cost more then .99 are always marked. Parking is good. The produce section has a good amount of selection. They have a lot of dried food, can and spice options as well. They have a fridge section I believe with dairy options, sometimes slightly expired. This location is always packed. read more

This is not only a great store to shop at for incredible deals, but the safety precautions instituted by this fine manager needs to have all other 99 cents stores take notice. Upon entry, a clerk meets you at the door and sanitizes the cart. The aisles are kept cleans and free of the boxes on the floor that you find at the messier stores in town. Rather than have lines out the door or flooding down the aisles, the staff is fully functional at ALL of their check out lanes. Oh, an the deals? Yum, yum full of goodies & low and behold, well-stocked shelves of cleaning supplies & hand sanitizer - for 99 cents!!! Ok, I want to start off saying that, this IS indeed a "99ç Store" and I am not expecting the best quality in products, or name brands. I was there looking for the bubble wrap shipping envelopes as I needed to send a little something over to my sister, and didn't want to "splurge" at Walmart or something like that. I almost missed them, but found a 2-pack of 3M bubble wrap envelopes, and also picked up some cute boxes of M&M mini cookies for my kids after school snacks that they always ask me for. Although this store is so-so, kind of clean, kind of in order, what made my day was my cashier. The person in front of me was paying for some Valentine knick-knacks and some sandbox toys, and apparently she was short .92ç. As she was struggling to find a dollar or enough change, Nicole the cashier got a dollar bill from her pocket and said "she got it" not to worry about it. The lady was so-so grateful, I would have said "thank You" maybe a couple of times, because this kind of customer service I have never seen before in my life! 99c Only Store has been a favorite for me for years. They have great products and deals on brand name foods as well as off brand foods. My issue with this specific location is their staff. Be prepared for complete and utter rudeness. I come to the store once a week or every other week and have MAYBE encountered 2-3 friendly employees. Today, I had my two sons with me. One in a stroller and one walking alongside me. (5 years old). TWICE he aisles were blocked with a cart as an employee was stocking shelves. That's fine, I have no problem with that. But they wouldn't move. The first I said excuse me very politely and stood there waiting for her to move her giant cart. She just stared at me and we had to turn around and go out the aisle the way we came in because she wouldn't move. The second employee had a regular shopping cart completely blocking the aisle. Again I said excuse me politely. She very slowly moved the cart, just enough for me to squeeze the stroller between the cart and her as she's squatting down. She then proceeds to roll her eyes, shake her head, and scoff. Cashiers always seem miserable too. Love the store, but your staff needs an attitude adjustment! read more

I come here every sunday morning to pick up my sunday paper. I do a walk around because I do end up finding good stuff. Name brand items for 99 cents. They also have good Halloween items and when Christmas comes around they actually have good decorations. I also find items there that I do see at a regular grocery store that may cost over 2 or 3 dollars. So I really like it here but in reality you cannot do your whole grocery shopping here. I see people load carts with stuff like its the end of the world. They end up spending over 100.00 on mostly generic stuff. Oh well. Cashiers here are cool. This store is a joke. Seriously. You still have these pay to shop carts? Wouldn't be as bad of they actually worked. Every single time I come here (which is rarely now) the coin gets stuck and it doesn't give me the cart. So I end up not shopping here and wasting a quarter. Seriously. You DO NOT pay 99 cents for an item, as the bill clearly state 99 & 9/10th cents (.9999). Yes, just 9/10th cents more, but it does add up over time. I went here last night with my sister (I've been a few other times prior to this) and we were looking for Christmas-y stuff to put up around our house. Our mom decided she's spending Christmas with us as its our first one away from "home." Anyways, the store was typical of a 99 Cents Only Store; not very clean, not a total Purell-Your-Hands-After-Everything-You-Touch place. In fact, we really didn't have any problems until checking out. There were two cashiers and about 15 people waiting in the two lines, even with it moving. When I got up there, I had glass objects and glass photo frames. The little wench ringing it up was throwing my stuff, I kid you not. She kept rolling her eyes and looking over to someone else in the store who worked there. She'd yell over at them in Spanish and while yes, I speak Spanish, I was more interested in making sure my items weren't damanged or completely hopeless as she was totally careless. Since, I find these stores to be really sketchy, I ran my debit card as "credit," and had to sign something. She flung a pen at me and shoved the receipt over. Total bitch. Probably underpaid, but she should be thanking her lucky stars I didn't find the manager (I would if there weren't several people behind me growing impatient with her as well). It was an okay place to go to in a pinch (we're sort of on a budget and just wanted a couple of things to hang up or place throughout the house), but I wouldn't come here often. Also, there was a weird smell coming from the frozen food section. It smelled like rotting vegetables, and probably was since they had "fresh" (HAAA!!!) vegetables in a display case across from it. read more

If I could put 0 stars, I would. We were enjoying our trip at the 99 cent store. The moment we got to the register, DANA or DIANA or whatever her name was, was very very rude. There was no "how are you doing" NOTHING. She very rudely TOLD us to empty the shopping basket we were using. I wouldn't have minded doing so, but her tone was very ugly. If she doesn't like her job, she shouldn't work there. Other customers behind us witnessed this and it was embarrassing. She was being very aggressive when telling us the total but yet the machine used to pay said "waiting on cashier" when we mentioned it to her and before we could finish our sentence, she very aggressively tapped her screen, as if it was our fault, and gave us our new total. After that she saw I was very annoyed by her actions and quietly said "have a good day" without meaning it. I cannot stand this type of service. And I doubt ill be going back. Thanks Dana. read more
