My boyfriend and I stopped by here the other day for decorations for his ASU graduation party. They have a lot of variety to choose from, they even had halloween costumes! The staff member who helped us was very nice. They may not have had a super large collection of ASU party gear but I didn't necessarily expect them to. I came here just slightly before closing after I realized my Amazon order would not arrive in time for the costume party I was attending. My husband and I were looking for 1920's themed accessories, and there were a ton of options! This store has everything you need. The prices were very reasonable. The only downside was there was someone making a balloon arch in the back when we went to check out, and she was spraying some sort of aerosol thing very heavily in the air. It was thick and my lungs are sensitive and react to this. I had to cover my mouth and run down the aisle out of the store. What went well besides everything! OK, I walked in this place had quite a few people walking around customers. And everybody was being helped. I probably stood at the back to get balloons. No more than three minutes before I got some service. Told him what I wanted and literally got a lot of help with colors that go well and it was just wonderful for my grandbaby! They had what I needed and it was so short notice literally went in around one 2 o'clock in the afternoon and I needed it for delivery by noon the next day and yes, the next day on a Sunday! It turned out amazing. They were on time. They were even a bit early and help set up. It was just wonderful there is no other place. I wanna go But this place for any and all of my party needs.!!! GEEZ....Ignore the WHINERS!! Party City was a huge disappointment! They had very few choices for our 10 year old to choose from. We took our kid with us to choose his birthday décor. We actually left with NOTHING! I decided that we would look online instead. We sat together and looked, but it was not as much fun and it seems that so much of the items come in packs including silverware (WOW - 90 pieces and 70 pieces are silverware). Very misleading!! We discovered that Party Planet was in Surprise close to Target. It was a bit of a drive, but it turned out to be worth the drive!! We were WOWED by the selection, in fact beyond WOWED!!! We filled up our cart with fun stuff and LOTS of stuff!! My hubby and kid were checking out while I looked at the balloons. The cashier ran over to me to point out several matching balloons to our theme!!! I mean really cool options!! They also offer balloon groupings that are amazing and unique starting at $10.00!!!! Rude employees. Return policy is at their whim. They will add your item under whatever policy they wish. A shirt purchased the day before with all tags, wrong size falls under "costume" so not accepted. I will never be back and will warn whomever I can to avoid and save yourself heartache. I talked about losing us as a customer due to the rudeness and the response was "thank goodness". There was a lot to choose from and pretty good deals on what I was looking for. She also stated if I bought the balloons today she could blow them up and have them ready for pickup at the time I needed them which is awesome. On the day of the party (of course its like me to wait last minute to get decorations) I walked into the store and to my immediate right there was the mario birthday party decorations. They also had a mario balloon display all ready made and ready to go (the party was in april and the balloon display is STILL fully inflated) I was able to get a birthday cake topper that matched the theme. I purchased balloons from here the evening before a baby shower. One of the balloons was deflated before noon the next day and I had to go purchase a new one before the guests arrived. When I informed the employee at the balloon counter that I had purchased balloons yesterday and one of them had already deflated, she could have cared less. Poor customer service. We bought a bunch of balloons for my daughters birthday when we purchased them we asked how much it would be to fill them with helium the worker said free since we bought them there as long as we kept our receipt. Fast forward to the night before my daughter's birthday and 3 days after I bought the balloons and now they are saying it is .99 to fill each Ballon that we already paid for! If I had known that I would not have bought them and would have purchased other items as decorations. Very unhappy with the double talk this business offers their customers. terrible customer service, when I purchased a pair of pants I from there right before closing last night I asked if I could try the pants on and they said no but I could take them home and try them on and if they didn't fit that I could bring them back. We went to this store and it was pretty empty. We were ready to check out but there was no one up front at the checkout stand so we rung the bell. I heard an employee in the back by the balloons so I was walking over to talk with her. A man came out and asked if we rang the bell was not very friendly. Went in to fill some balloons the older guy purposely ripped a special balloon I had brought in for my daughter because it wasn't their product. He showed no remorse for doing it. I explained u just ripped my balloon, he said "I know" with the kind of attitude of what r u going to do about it. He asked the manager to handle me, so I told her what had happened and to my surprise she was just as hateful. So I said "I just needed the other balloons I brought filled up, and proceeded to say I probably wouldn't return to their store". The manager said "oh really well in that case I'm not filling ur balloons" and shoved them across the counter to me. The younger kid at the counter up front was apologetic for their actions, and said to try and have a better day on our way out. Very unimpressed with Party Planet all the way around. We ordered two balloon arches for our school promotion ceremonies and they failed to deliver one of them. It was due to arrive at 8AM and they argued with us about the delivery time being 8:30AM when we called. They called to tell us they were on the way to our school to deliver it and then never showed up so we didn't have an arch for our morning ceremony. I am sure that the only reason we got our second arch was because of our angry phone calls about the first one being a reminder that they had to bring the 2nd by the afternoon. I went to Party Planet (In Goodyear) today looking for invitations and not only did they have the invites I was looking for they were cheaper than another party store that is going out of business and has everything 50% off! They have great customer service and are family owned and operated. They also price match competitors ads. Party Planet does cakes and rentals. We have purchased at Party Planet on Bell Rd many times in the past and have never had the problems we had this time. They decide when and how they want to change their policies. We bought a costume and accessories for Halloween but my granddaughter decided it was too small and couldn't wait any longer for them to get the right size. They had told us they might get some larger sizes in and would let us know. I asked them if they did not get the sizes in and if we could return them and they said yes. Well, it's a bad experience and I would never go there again. The costume was never taken out of the bag and they would not extend me store credit. Now they say, "they put it as "sold out" so they can't sell that number. Really? Makeup policies as you see fit but that's not good business people. Never again. Huge disappointment in customer service. Now I'm out 40.00 and will try to see on line. read more

Customer service and return policy SUCKS!! Had a CASH receipt for a birthday banner I bought just the day before. When I saw it came with NO string to hang easily, I went to look for string @ home, only to find that I did have a bday banner that DID have strings attached...brought this one back to return - they wouldn't take it back because it had been opened. How would I know whether it came with string until I opened it?! Not to mention that the pkg does NOT show it comes with string, I thought it would be a given. The kid checks with manager, comes back and says no return because it's opened and there's no string in pkg !!!! You're right - there's not - the WHOLE reason for the return.
