Come here for your Holiday decoration needs! I was desperately looking for holiday tin cookie cans to make goodies and pass out to coworkers at the office. This was the second dollar store I stopped at and BINGO, we have a winner! Yes a few have some dings, dents, and knicks, but nothing a little patience and persistence to sift through the bad apples. They had two sizes for round ones and also some rectangular ones as well. The holiday (christmas) decoration selection was on point. Ornaments, giftbags, wrapping paper, ribbons, utensils/plates/place settings all for $1!! In general that have a very nice selection of stuff to go through. Even better that they have a good size parking lot dedicated just to them. Will most definitely be back for holiday stuff! read more

Bottom line: Great place offering good value but checkout times are usually long. It takes them a long time and seemingly incredible effort to finally open up a 3rd checkout counter. Weekdays are sometimes just as bad as weekends. I have a coworker who I refer to as the Dollar Tree guy cus seemingly every week when I talk to him he mentions something he bought at DT. Now though, I seem to be the DT guy at home since finding this location closer to home. I usually never wanted to drive all the way down to the spot they have in San Bruno. Whenever I have something I need I always consider DT first and then move down the list to other stores if they don't have it. Sure many of their items aren't of the best name brand household/consumer goods but what do you expect for a dollar? Many of that name brand stuff is an excuse to jack up the price on identical ingredients anyway. I've bought things like bathroom air fresheners, window cleaner, drop cloths, super glue, generic shampoo and hand soap, office supplies and snacks here. I didn't even know 3 liter soda bottles even existed until I came here! I also stocked up my emergency bag with medicine from here. They have decent work gloves as well. As long as you don't go ape crazy and end up spending $20 every week here and buy only what you need, you should LOVE this place. Honestly, I am a huge fan of dollar stores, Dollar Tree especially. They carry a vast amount of brand name items, for those who are skeptical about shopping here. This is my go to place for art supplies, wrapping paper, dog/cat needs and so much more. The list is endless! Who can get mad at buying things for a dollar? Of course, there are things that people may complain about, such as their batteries. Yes, their batteries do not last long, but for a dollar, they are good back up batteries to have around. This is also the best place to grab snacks to sneak into the movies... people still do that? Oh you bet yourself they do! I come here with my reusable bags, and purchase things I may need around the house. They have a great selection for plastic containers, which comes handy for storing random things but still trying to keep them organized. This particular store carries door mat sized carpets. Recently my mom asked for new set of knives, and I've bought her knives from target or marshalls (sorry, I don't fully remember which store) before, and to be honest they're not that great. But the last set of knives I bought her were from the dollar store. They're actually decent! This place def had me stock up on my moms Christmas wish. The service here is practically non-existent. I came to pick up an order and I was in the store waiting for them after they took my ID (like, why should it take 5+ minutes to take my ID? What are you doing? Scanning it to copy it?) and then followed the lady to the back and it's been 10+ mins. She was also on her cellphone talking to someone. Um, wth? read more

I planned my son's first birthday and Dollar Tree came to the rescue for party supplies and gift bags. You really can't beat their prices for items like Mylar balloons ($1 each vs $3+ at Party City). They did have a limited selection since most sold out and I was only able to get 5 different balloon styles that I liked but I can't complain for the price. Plus, 1 balloon deflated within 2 hours after bringing it home...I think it was a defective balloon so avoid buying the Elmo one! I also bought paper plates, cups, and banners and toys/gift bags for the kids. I spent $75 total for hosting a party of 40. They have lots of other "stuff" that I avoided buying since it would just be adding more junk to my house. But now that I know this place exists, I will be returning for household items that don't need to be quality or brand name. Otherwise, Target would be my next stop. I highly recommend this place for party supplies but beware of sensory overload-this store has tons of stuff everywhere! read more

Great place to go to if you are looking to roam aimlessly down isles for random things without breaking the bank. Yes, the customer and employees here are rude and suck. 1 star for their customer service!! I would give 0 stars if Yelp permits... I came by today (Memorial Day) at 4:15PM and was greeted by a VERY RUDE FEMALE CASHIER... I mean come on, it's not my fault you work here and hate it!! I'm normally greeted with a hello and how are you whenever I come in, but this time it was a... "Take your basket off the belt." I thought I was being nice by already taking everything out of the basket in the first place.. and I didn't see anything wrong so I took the basket off.. then the cashier's DEMANDS, "can you put it UNDER the COUNTER???" -with lots of attitude. I told her there's no room under the counter.. so she orders me again to put it somewhere else... and my husband being nice and all puts it where she wanted it. Usually at Trader Joes or something they gladly say, "May I take that from you?" or something much nicer... but no, they have RUDE cashiers who work here who seem to hate their jobs.. bossing people around and on top of that giving dirty looks... Then she throws all the items in a bag that we purchased failing to hand the us receipt since it slipped out of her hand while she was "attempting" to give it to me... She didn't even say, "Have a nice day," because she was too occupied talking to one of her friends who happened to be shopping there. I don't know if I'll ever come back here again!!! read more

I always drove by this location heading to Lucky Chances but never stopped by until last week. We came in to look for some things for my daughters school project, and I must say this location is huge. I always go to the dollar tree at Fairmont Center but now this is my go to. The have a ton of selection, ton of mugs, at my dollar tree they have one color, here they have at least 5. They have a good selection of Disney stuff as well, everything from calendars, stickers, party cups, balloons. The frozen food section def has some good selections as well, lunchables, dads root beer frozen pops (haha that def caught my eye). We spent an hour in here just so much to look at. I like this one WAY more than the one in South City. It's easier to get into the lot and I feel like things are more spread out. There aren't enough cashiers but whatever. This dollar tree was ok. I stopped in for an energy drink and a protein bar, but not a protein bar to be found. The store is OK compared to nicer ones in the Bay Area. They could do a better with presentation and store setup. I usually go to the ones in Daly City and San Mateo. When I walk into stores close to me I get a good feeling. I honestly prefer this Dollar Tree location over the others in the area (Pacifica & SSF) because they are more spacious, organized/clean, and the lines are less hectic. They have some quality school supplies that you would find at Target or Walgreens for $3-$4; name-brand highlighters, Sharpies, etc. They also have multi-colored poster boards which are 2 for $1--AMAZING for projects! read more

I'm usually a fan of dollar tree stores but this particular store has TERRIBLE customer service. My girlfriend and I came to pick up the case of gems that we had ordered for store pick-up. The "store manager" who was working one of the lines told us it would "take a minute because she has to finish her line first." When we asked how long it would take, she immediately gave us attitude, telling us we shouldn't have picked the wrong time to come pick up because she would have to go all the way to the back to find the package. When she finally brought our package out, she slammed it on the counter. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but that's no way for a "store manager" to treat a customer. read more

Me and my boyfriend came to this dollar store today and we have always been faithful customers forever now. We spend a lot of money over here. I noticed a man following me and my boyfriend around the shop but I didn't think of it like that until he told his coworker in Tagalog to watch out for me and my boyfriend. I felt disrespected immediately but I didn't say anything because I just wanted to shop for my things. However, the store was filled with customers and they were just following us. I was looking at the balloons and picking some out for my fathers birthday, when some lady comes to me and asks me if I would like to purchase my things when her register was closed and I wasn't even done shopping. My boyfriend was like it's fine let's just ring these up and leave since we had errands to run. I was happy because I thought she was going to give me good service, then I realized she was just being racist because she thought I was going to push my cart out due to the fact that my boyfriend is African American. Then she opens her register and leaves immediately. We wait for 10 minutes patiently and we asked the guy who was staring at us the whole time, if he could ring us up. He then says no and continues to just stare at us. I felt disrespected because he was following us around the whole shop but didn't wanna help us with anything. We wait for the lady to come and when she comes back she doesn't even apologize for wasting our time. The guy who was staring at us then followed us out the store after purchasing so many items. I don't recommend coming here. The manager a Filipino man in his mid 20s to early 30s. His employee was a Filipino lady in her 30s. read more

Its nice and clean since its brand new, but the selection isn't as big as the one near tanforan in my opinion so 1 star off but overall great. Brand new store that carries pretty much everything from crafting supplies, school supplies to household items (from kitchen to bathroom), frozen food, canned foods, snacks, drinks, kids toys, silk flowers, styrofoam balls and squares for floral projects, bathroom essentials, tools, pet supplies, gift wrap, balloons and cards...OH MY! Everything is $1 or less and it's not a dirty, gross store. It's a clean store but beware if going here with kids....they will want everything but hey who cares. It's $1. I've bought my kids new sunglasses for the summer for $1 each. I don't care that they are cheap, I'd prefer them to be on the cheaper side as they are kids and kids will ALWAYS lose or break things. They have a large parking lot so no hassle with finding parking. The staff is cool and helpful if needed. The only reason that I'm not giving 5-stars is that their inventory isn't consistent. (I always come here for some dry food items that are just a steal but sometimes they have them and sometimes they'll be out for a long time.) read more
