Ummm...why does this store call itself the Dollar Tree when not everything for sale here is priced at a dollar anymore?? This is a genuine question, no joke. Long gone are the days where you can count on buying any item in the store at just $1. Initially, I didn't notice that some product prices were increased to $1.25 until I paid attention to my receipt, then saw the shelves with such pricing. Eventually, other shelves with $3, $5 and even $5+ merchandise made their appearances and took permanent residence in the store. Okkkkkk...so time to change the shoppe's name! $1 price tags are rare here now. There is still a broad selection of inventory [offering a mix of household items, beauty products, food, etc.,] but, sadly, no increase in product quality has been noticed with the spike in prices. Additionally, at times, shelves can be nearly bare with severely low inventory. Customer service can range from poor to meh with a gradual improvement as of late. I have been seeing a completely new staff lately, so perhaps they cleaned house and hired a new crew. Moral of my story: You can no longer assume that everything is at $1, pay close attention to the prices displayed on each shelf. Be prepared to potentially find empty shelves and arrive with low expectations in service caliber. At least you can count on finding a parking space in the lot that is nearby the front entrance since they are at the Fairmont Shopping Center. Oh, and they are dog friendly! read more

Got some cat food here. Nutrush by Rachel Ray. Probably soem overstock item left behind here.... My kitty loved it... he loved it.... I spoil my kitty with a revolving menu. I don't like to give him the same thing every day - sometimes he gets smoked salmon from Costco - and he loves it - but I notice if i give it to him every day he loses that zest and enthusiasm for it. One day 9 lives Pate - the other day Rachel Ray Nutrusih - the next day maybe something special from Alimento or Molinari in the city. He is a sophistocated little guy. Spoiled rotten disgusting. Likes $50 one of a kind wool pillows by Loloi - crafted by the hands of skilled artisans - vintage textile with unique old world charm look and feel. Mr Moose is disgusting - but i created that spoiled prince monster. Nothing like Piggy... but what can i do? Return him to the Santa Rosa animal shelter? I think not. That would be kriminal. The employee told me that the shelves were "not" empty. Umm, I think that's a subjective statement because they sure look empty to me! Nope, she says they are stocked. Umm, okay. I still couldn't find what I came here for which was Ramen noodles and paper napkins. Parking can be difficult here, depends on the day and time. TL;DR This particular Dollar Tree only does EXCHANGE and NO RETURNS for items even unused and with receipts. I have come here a few times to make purchases. Sometimes, though there are items that doesn't work with your home so you want to return it. I came in to return a few items and the lady at the cash register said they don't accept returns - ONLY EXCHANGE even if you have a receipt. I looked online and the policy says that you can return the merchandise as long as it is not used and you have the receipt of store bought. Things bought online are final. Anyway, if someone can verify that this store is one of the few that does not accept returns, that would be appreciated. Maybe each store has a different policy than what corporate has online - Granted that each items is only $1.25 (+tax), a store should take returns from customers. Called several other Dollar Trees and they accept returns. This store in Pacifica is the exception. read more

Wanted to grab some items to make some goodie bags for some toddlers for the holidays. There were some cute options to choose from and while I was here, I ended up snagging a bunch more toys for my son's stocking stuffers. I didn't realize how wide of a selection Dollar Tree carries, including some home goods and grocery items as well. I think the organization of their lines could be better though - it just felt that a bunch of people were just congregated all together at the front amidst some standalone retail shelves so you would be up in someone's personal space trying to look at some items. read more

It expends less energy than a scowl and keeping your body in a stress-clench. The negative behavior and stance only ages you or makes you seem older and bitter. Among the cashiers at this store, there is one who is absolutely lovely and delightful. Always ready with a welcome greeting and makes it feel like you are shopping at a local boutique and not a discount barn. This is one who may only work later in the afternoon to evening and they are the gold standard for what this store should model customer service after. The other cashiers don't seem to enjoy working there as evidenced by the way they treat customers. Carmen the manager is unprofessional and this store is a MESS. I made an online order and Carmen claimed it was not there without looking for it. I asked her to look and gave her my ID and the barcode for the order as instructed by the Dollartree email. She refused and refused to look. She kept telling me it wasn't there and she didn't care that got 3 emails stating it was there and where to find it. The cashiers were laughing tirelessly for 5 minutes, even the one ringing me up. I asked for a refund and Carmen refused. She told me it was never there. I told her I would call customer service, but I was not leaving. A white lady then came in asking her to look for a specific product and she helped her immediately. She jumped to it like a puppy. I the. went to the back area where they have all the boxes stacked and slouching over (fire hazard) to look for myself and what do you know, Carmen just handed me the package she claimed wasn't there. She knew I would find it on my own so she decided not to steal it anymore and handed it to me. As I was walking out, she was talking shit and yelling, "Well you have it now." Stopped here after work to grab a few items. I got there at 9:40pm knowing they close at 10pm and was quickly grabbing my items. As I'm grabbing items off the shelf, an older-Ish manager lash walks passed my isle telling me they close in 5 minutes (it was 9:45 at this point), even though they are supposed to be open until 10pm? A different lady rang me up but she was clearly in a rush to get outta there as well and mentioned I "came very late"? They were acting as if I came before closing just to inconvenience them? She was in sucha rush that she only handed me one of my bags of items and didn't give me a receipt. It's my fault as well for not noticing this but I was just tryna get the heck outta there so these old ladies can get to wherever their in sucha big rush to get too. I get extremely overwhelmed when I am being rushed and I had thought she put everything in one bag, didn't notice til I got home that she still has one of my bags of items :| As I'm walking out, the cashier is yelling at the top of her lungs for the manager to come lock the door behind me so no one else comes in.. Just an odd experience all around to be honest lol. This is my first time having bad customer service here. I frequent this location often and I also come here near closing time frequently because of my work schedule, and have never had this type of treatment or experience. COVID-19 Informational Review: If you're looking for a Dollar Tree that's being careful, this is the location for you. The staff here is ON IT. They watch the door like hawks and turn away anyone without a mask. Once the store starts getting a little too full, they institute a line outside. Inside, they take turns roaming the store to monitor customers and point out when folks are getting too close. They assertively enforce the 6-foot distance rule for the line and direct the next customers to the appropriate check-out stands so that there's no line-cutting or confusion about where you should go. From what I could see, there were only 3 employees on hand but they had that place running with military-like precision. All the while, deliveries of new stock were arriving and being processed yet nobody was flustered. I'm impressed! read more

I I came in to buy a card, just one card, and she seemed to lack the patience to ring up this single card. Cursed under her breath whilst ringing it up, as it would not ring and she had to scan another item of the same price. Then, she criticized me for paying ten cents over total. I admit in the past I went to a handful of $1 and .99 stores in Sacramento that traumatized me because they were gross with crying babies who needed their diapers changed, sticky floors, and messy aisles bursting with junk I wouldn't want for free. I saw a lot of them here: Palmolive dish soap, Spic and Span spray cleaner, Tapatio Hot Sauce, Reynolds foil pop up sheets (great to pack sandwiches for lunch), Scotch brand tape (2 dispensers), Sharpie pens pack of 2, seasonal color/designed pot holders and dish towels...all for only $1. I spent a lot of money on glittery Christmas tree ornaments at Michaels for $3-5 each. Imagine my surprise to see similar styles for $1! Some were in clutches of 2, 6, or 10 pcs for a dollar! I was happy to at least have half of my ornaments for $1 because I change tree colors and themes every year. Big Christmas gift bags? $1. I was so happy! Packs of 4 gift boxes? $1. I didn't buy the gift wrap because I ordered a lot from the school fundraiser. Party City cart total $173 for plates, utensils, cups, tablecloth, plastic serving dishes. I walked out and went here to spend $30 for the same things! The store is clean, well organized, bright. The cashiers are professional and helpful. I go here to stock up on sports drinks, coconut water, and juices (workout and recovery days) but are always tempted to include snacks and junk food (cheat days). Besides that issue I get cleaning supplies since those will work well because they're famous brands (nothing generic). The store is smaller than the other DTS in the northern peninsula. Smaller is good in a way as you are quickly done with your purchase. Too many aisles and rows of items mean a longer stay and a bigger receipt. Also, it is out of the way but it's located in a better neighborhood if you know what I mean. Located just off Hickey Blvd and Hwy 35. Worth a visit if in the area as it is located in a shopping center. That way you can include eateries or cafes or grocery as part of the same visit. read more

Very rude cashier here. Don't remember her name but she gets very atitude-y when she makes mistakes. I watched her be rude to an elderly lady who found an extra ring up in her receipt. She charged me extra, by accident I know, but this was her mistake, not mine. And she asked me to go get something else. I didn't need anything else. I would love to just be compliant and easy and just take something to make up for her mistake but I really didn't need anything else. This is middle of a highway dollar tree. Great store! You can almost get anything in this store. Every time I come here I always see new things for home decorations or home projects. Always something you can get and play with but don't have to spend a fortune for it. I would usually never even would have comment on cashier's because it's just a very short interaction and what can go wrong with scanning, bagging and paying for them. When I read the key pad it asks if the total is correct, including the cashback, I answered Yes. Lol! What she told me the first time was answer NO on the cashback. She said they don't give cashback anymore. I apologized again and said I didn't hear her clearly the first time. She opened her cash drawer, took a $20 and slammed it on the table with my receipt. I was so taken back on how rude she was.. I had to tell her that I really didn't understand what she told me the first time but she doesn't have to be rude. How much is everything here at this store? just only one dollar!! If we had a Dollar Tree back in Hawaii, it will not be called Dollar Tree. I know Dollar Store won't ever open up on island of Oahu, but as long as I get to shop at a Dollar Tree on vacation, I am happy. I love the Dollar Tree, not only because I save money but I feel like I am getting more bangs for my bucks and stretching my dollar further here. I only had 15 minutes to shop here until I get dropped off at the Bart Station. So hard to shop with only 15 minutes, I tried my best to grab what I needed quick. The 3 reasons I needed to make a stop here was for water, poncho, and wine gift bags. I found water, 6 pack for only one dollar, the last 2 poncho, got 10 wine gift bags in solid metallic colors but I wished they had more bags with nicer design. During my quick visit, I was able to grab package of green cutlery, 2 bottles of ranch dressing and green olives to make my salads at only one dollar, Wow! I also saw a box of Moon Pie, I bought 4 boxes for my son who just bought a single pack for 1.00 here at CVS. If I had more time I would buy a ton of stuff which will take up luggage space so I guess it worked out with a time limit. Such a great store, with great products,and all for only ONE DOLLAR!! I go there very often and the customer service is so so and the cashier are alway doing thing in slow motion. I was at the point to pay and found out the package of the product changed and it used to wrap with the paper and sell with a package with a dollar... when I complained to cashier who tried to charge me individually package instead of one package... she asked me to stop and she said she DID not like to listen... and sometime I found some customers who speak Tagalog or Spanish, they treat them nicely and friendly, otherwise, they are impatient and rude and without any eye contacts. read more

For a dollar, you could easily buy anything - even useless things that would easily be forgotten and collect dust in a corner. But alas, one must shop wisely. Sometimes I buy my shampoos here. Decent store as far as $ stores go. Like any other store of this type you have to pay strict attention to the quality of the item you are purchasing. But overall I like this Dollar Tree location. It's quiet and well lit. The people at this location (customers and employees) are generally nice, polite, and pleasant. You can find excellent deals on greeting cards. (really, do you need to spend more than $ on some that is not handmade? and will likely be thrown out)? Cheap plates, glasses, and flatware much nicer than a party store, but is still low cost enough to not mind breakage, or being left behind. $1 bread is good when they have it. big containers of powdered garlic and powered onion without spending a fortune at the grocery store! :-) Accepts credit cards. This place is underrated. Has a bunch of name brand snacks/candy and some products are also name brand. Some things are more than 1$ but that is fine. One negative about this location in particular is that it is SOOO dirty. This review is strictly for how I witnessed the store manager treat a customer that was in line. Just FYI, I was in line during the whole interaction & the store manager completely missed the issue. The customer's issue wasn't with waiting in line to go inside. The sign they posted at the door was so confusing. It's how the store manager delivered it. You were rude & very inappropriate. Even if the customer was in the wrong, the fact that the customer wasn't even cussing or saying anything rude & you, as the store manager was still going at it, you need to think if you are in the right line of business, buddy. You were the one embarrassing yourself today. We highly advised the customer you were being rude to, to contact your district office. The time we were in line, nobody was outside at the door. The 1st time the customer tried to go in this guy (store manager evidently) told her she can't come in & to read the sign. Really?! That's hella rude. We saw someone leave so we told her to go in. How are we supposed to know your store is at capacity when nobody is telling us at the door? You're busy at the register & just started manning the door when you got into an argument with the customer. Not cool. The customer you were being rude to probably felt so frustrated.
