Almost every single time I have shopped here the staff have racially profiled me. The only reason I continued to shop here is because it was the closest Dollar Tree to my home. I am forewarning African Americans that the manager and (non-black) employees will stalk, harass, and try to intimidate you while you shop. You will notice that White, Asian, and Hispanic shoppers are allowed to freely shop unaccosted; they are welcomed in the store. YOU are not wanted here. To be treated with basic respect and dignity make the trip to another Dollar Tree or shop at an entirely different company where you will not be dehumanized. On Memorial Day they were so aggressive, persistent, excessive that other shoppers began to stare at the staff and I. It looked as if at any moment they were going to pounce on me. I felt scared, intimidated, and eventually decided to leave my kart full of items in the middle of the store and walked out the front door. I went to another store to spend my money. I would have purchased the kart full of items but why support a business that has terrorized me every time I have shopped there. Paying only $1 is a great bargain but not at the cost of my self-respect. Something none of these employees have. I am tired of dealing with racist Asians and Hispanics. It is not white people I have experienced racism since I moved here, it is from other minorities in this city. I regret moving to the Bay so far because of how racist Asians and Hispanics are here. I was wearing skin tight yoga pants, a form fitted shirt, with a small purse only big enough to fit loose money and debit cards. I literally could not hide something even if I had wanted to. If you are African American no matter what you are wearing, your status in life, how much money you have in your bank account-  the staff at this store with the support of their manager are going to commit racial abuse and harassment towards you. When you come into the store by default they will intimidate you not because you are a thief but because they do not want you to shop here. They purposely try to make you feel so uncomfortable that you will not return. It would be easier to put a "no  blacks" sign in front of the store. They will hire blacks to exploit them for cheap labor and only allow them to work in front of the store to keep an eye on them; in case they steal. While they allow hispanic and asian employees to patrol the store harassing African Americans. It is sickening. I came in looking for some cheap elastic hair ties and a storage box to make a first aid kit. While I'm standing in a long line, I hear the cashier say loudly what the total was. I then see an elderly Asian man taking cash out to pay. Behind him is a middle-aged about to be elderly white man. The cashier (my receipt indicates her name is Donna and she's Black) proceeds to say "speak English! If you come to America, learn the language!" She and the white man start up a racist rant with each other without a care in the world while there are other colored people waiting in line, including children witnessing this. Some of the brands are new to me, though they do stock a surprisingly good amount of name-brands. Their shelves are organized and aisles are clean. Located at Bayshore Heights neighborhood and little more than a block from The Cow Palace. Getting to the area is somewhat out of the way but worth the visit if nearby. If you are need of some inexpensive items than this is the place for you! This particular dollar is a bit of the way unless you live in the excelsior or near the San Francisco/Brisbane area. The parking lot is small and there is one way in and two ways out of the parking lot. Upon arrival you should expect to be greeted by at least one individual looking for change. It isn't a bad thing but it is a THING to note when coming to this store. Once you get inside you will find all the items: party stuff, school supplies, kitchenware, etc. For the most part, a large more of the items are $1 or less but in some instances you will pay more than the STORE ADVERTISED price, not including tax. I know, FALSE ADVERTISEMENT, but that is just what it is sometimes. Don't bother to argue with the employees about the topic because it will get you nowhere, seriously! Just check the tag of the items you are purchasing and pay the cost or don't buy it. There isn't a need to bicker about pricing since you are already getting a really good deal of these items anyway, just saying. The staff here seems to be limited on any given day. This is actually my third time coming to this store and they always seems to have one register open when I come here. I guess that works for them but I would hate for there to be an influx of customers one day and the wait time to for checkout is long, sounds terrible. I've had too many bad experiences in this store and only a few good experiences. The bad outweighs the good. I came here yesterday 10/27/2015 around 9am, I almost stepped on a dead pigeon a few feet away from the entryway. Since most of the parking lot is already trashy and the grey pigeon almost blends in with the dirty concrete. I came here just to buy cheap gloves and napkins. As I was walking out of one of the aisles I almost tripped on a box the staff left on the floor, It was left careless at the end of the aisle on the corner. As I walked a bit more I seen one of the staff staring at me from the corner of her eye I paid no mind. Few minutes later she asked if I needed help finding anything. I snapped and said "no I do not need your help." I was thinking in my head FIRST OF ALL SAY GOOD MORNING! This is not how you greet a customer, she turned and did the same to another customer a split second after asking me. He also snapped at her, she didn't even say good morning to him not even a simple hello to either of us. When you ask this question without greeting the customer, this is like telling your customer I know you are up to no good. I finally made it to the checkout counter. The bald cashier wearing a tie was moving quick and telling flat jokes to the customer in front of me. He got to me and made a rude joke saying "you were running running to this Dollar Tree, saying to yourself I got to make it to Dollar Tree I gotta make it to Dollar Tree before it closes." The other female cashier started laughing. The customers behind me were not amused at all. He did not even bother bagging my stuff although it was just 2 items. As I was walking out of the store he started on the customer behind me saying "ok ok I'm going to get you out of here ma'am moving his arms fast" This guy was obviously high on meth. The couple of other bad experiences in here... I was telling the lady I didn't want an item that I changed my mind. She rung it up anyways, I told her again politely that I didn't want that item she told me "I could knock you out, why didn't you tell me you didn't want this." Yeah.... Some customer service. I never seen her again. Another experience were two employees playing with the intercom talking about store specials while laughing in the intercom. Haven't seen them back in the store either. This store is horrible in customer service, although I must say there are some employees here whom are friendly. This store does have some useful items Panasonic Batteries, Cleaning gloves, Cups, Containers, LED flash lights, few school supplies. Just to save a few bucks, I usually go elsewhere and spend four times more. When you have 85 presents to wrap that is not a deal. The Dollar Tree in San Pablo offers gift bag bundles like 3-5 bags for $1!!!!!! Lately, I've noticed they even have some rather nice square-shaped paper plates in various solid colors, but they also often have Disney paraphernalia and sparkles up the wazoo for kids' parties. There is always a long line isn't there any manager whatsoever who actually sees that there are long lines and yet they don't bring out more cashiers. Love this place. It's much bigger than the dollar stores we have in SF and the selection is somewhat different. They have like 5 aisles just for party supplies, it's ridiculous. And everything in the store is a buck - even things that are $5 or more at Walgreens. The frozen section is mostly crap food, but they do have 4 ounce packs of wild-caught salmon. I scored a few 7 ounce bags of ground coffee, a 100 tablet thing of antihistamine, and some cool stationery supplies. The clientele is somewhat ghetto, but whatever. read more

Talia gives worst customer services. Went in today with my mom and a baby. Talia behind the cash register was really rude. Doesn't even say Hi or anything with an attitude (she/he who knows how it identifies) asked if we wanted a bag I said yes. When it was time to pay my mom only had a $100 bill. This person with a big old attitude says there was no change. In my head I was like how is there no change when it's a chain company. And kept asking if we had some other way to pay. We said no. So she asked Donna who turns out to be the manager , for change and Donna goes and gets the change. And she handed it to she/he person. We paid. But Talia still talking thing under breath and I told my mom in Spanish she was talking s**t. We were walking out when this Talia person comes out & starts yelling to my mom saying how I was rolling my eyes, giving her attitude. Mind you I never said or even looked at her/him. I walked in to talk to Donna & Talia still running her mouth talking how I always do the same when I have never seen this human being. I hardly ever come to this store. Well anyway talked to Donna .
