ZERO STARS! Worse Dollar Tree ever. I purchased a $100 Visa gift in addition to a few other items. The cashier asked if I wanted a bag, so I replied yes and assumed all of my items made it into the bag. Well, guess what item did not? Yep, the $100 gift card! Now total shame on me for not requiring that the gift card, especially a $100 gift card be place in my hand, but within a couple of minutes (less than 5 minutes) I noticed the gift card was not in the bag. I went back in the store to the cashier and he acted totally clueless. Called his manager to the front, who also acted clueless, but calls his other manager Dallas, who was an even bigger disappointment. I'm now awaiting a call from the regional manager. But something strongly tells me that the young man who served as the cashier stole my $100 gift card. I really do not want to believe this, but no one else was in the line with me at the time of purchase. And he was so nonchalant when I returned to the store to say my gift card wasn't in the bag. Terrible service. Extremely poor management. And zero empathy. Again, I fault myself above all else. But I'm extremely annoyed that this is the world we live in. I'm giving this location two stars for nothing other than the customer service and the long lines. They have a nice selection of things but I promise, you will be in line for at least 15 minutes and that's on the light side. Even when they consistently have long lines, the cashiers have no urgency to move the line. Come here if you have time. read more

The worst customer service from the manager who welcomed and encouraged myself and another customer to shop at another Dollar Tree (Bowie). The manager as she called herself was extremely nasty. I am very disappointed in the customer service from one particular employee at the dollar tree. My friend and I entered the store around 8:40 in hopes to pick up some spicy noodles. We went straight to the aisle and picked up several containers. While in that aisle, I started having a medical episode which typically requires me to sit down and drink something. I head towards the door to walk outside to sit on one of the benches, but I noticed that the outer door was locked. I unlocked the door and shut the door behind me. A minute passes and I noticed a family walking towards the store. They opened the door and walked in. A minute or so later, they walked out with no bags in their hands. A caucasian employee escorted them out, but before she closes the door, she hollers at me, "Did you open my door?" I tell her yes and I had to leave. She then yells that I dont touch HER door and that I let customers in. I responded that she should have been standing besides the door then. She then yelled that I shouldnt have touched her door. First of all, I didnt appreciate her yelling at me. No one who works customer service has any right yelling at any customers. Furthermore, Im not going to be held hostage (for lack of a better word) inside of a store especially while i was having a medical episode and needed to get outside before passing out. If she needs to control who enters and exit the store, she should have remained by the door to escort people out. Instead, she was deeper in the store, not gatekeeping the locked door during store hours...which leads me to this...THAT DOOR WASNT SUPPOSED TO BE LOCKED IN THE FIRST PLACE. My friend checked out at 8:47. He came outside shortly after that. He was the last customer. The rotund lady locked both doors after him. The store's "final" close was roughly 13 minutes early. I've worked and managed a couple of retail stores and I understand that employees want to go home. I get it, but a store is open until it is closed and on Sunday nights, the Ritchie Station store closes at nine, not 8:47. Do better. read more

I visited this particular store for starlight mints, there weren't any that I could see but the associate Tiffany took her time to look through the boxes as she was restocking and made my day. Thank You Tiffany for providing good customer service because it's very hard to find these days. read more

This dollar tree is beside BJ's. It has a large selection of decent cleaning supplies and frozen items. If you need a balloon for a special occasion, this is the best place (and cheapest) to get it. The greeting card selection is decent too. There was a variety of spices that were interesting. Bonus points on the Halloween decorations. read more

I went to this Dollar Tree yesterday and noticed that all of the buttered popcorn was gone. I didn't want any other flavor; so, I asked one of the staff members, Tiffany Reid, when were they going to replenish the snacks. I told her that I was looking for the buttered popcorn and asked if they had any in the back. Tiffany checked for me and when she came out with it, I was so happy. I know it's just popcorn, but what I appreciated more was Tiffany's great customer service. I had noticed her personable customer service skills before while shopping in the store and that's why I was so comfortable in approaching her. I've had a great experience with the manager as well (I think she was the manager - auburn colored hair). Just want Dollar Tree Corp to know they have a gem in Tiffany and great staff overall. read more

I've been to this DT many of times and always have a pleasant experience and the store is always fully stocked and neat. I came in last night after a long hard day in Spotslvania visiting my aunt in ICU to pick up my last minute Mothers Day cards and some other staples I needed for the house. I didn't notice until this morning that I didn't have my cards & I was panicked as I needed to be to church way before 11 AM service since this is a major Sunday & parking is at a premium. I raced to DT and explained my story with receipt in hand & the manager allowed me to go and replace my cards, thank God for his mercies. I have been a loyal DT customer but this experience has made me loyal forever more! Thanks DT Upper Marlboro for the outstanding customer service. read more

This Dollar Tree is located in the Ritchie Station Marketplace and is a newer store. It is pretty large and has a selection that is comparable to other Dollar Tree locations. I found that they had more of a variety of stuffed animals and toys, especially the Webkinz, that the kids absolutely love! The check-out line can back up easily, but the staff are pretty efficient in terms of getting to everyone - everyone is super friendly and helpful, and the place itself is kept organized and clean. I am always greeted when I arrive ;which is a rarity these days in a lot of store not just dollar tree. Brand new store that just opened in November 2013. Part of a bigger shopping center that is still being built. Bigger footprint than the other nearby locations of this chain, so more stuff and fewer boxes and clutter in the isles. Buck stores are great places to get disposable stuff cheap like party stuff (e.g. brightly colored plates, napkins, and utensils that match), basic stationery items (paper, pens, pencils, erasers, paper clips, envelopes, mailing supplies, etc), kitchen gadgets (e.g. potato peelers, spatulas, paring knives, pot holders, kitchen towels, cooking and serving utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, cups, and the like), seasonal decorator stuff (make your wreath or gift basket for $5-10 bucks, and my favorite: cheap cleaning supplies for the house, laundry, and car. Bonus - Unlike some of the older area locations, they got smart and put in hard flooring material instead of carpet; that this location will stay shop-able longer since it shouldn't get that stained, smelly carpet thing going. read more

I was in line and I had my items in the shopping basket. Well I put it on the belt and she scanned maybe 2 items and then says "can you take the rest of the items out?" I looked at her like are you serious? What's wrong with you taking them out that's your job. So unprofessional and rude. I was not thanked or anything after paying. If you're not happy with your job don't work there. Why do these companies hire disrespectful employees? I'll never understand. read more

I came to this store for a variety of last minute items for my sons party and nothing I wanted was in the store and if it was, I wouldn't have been able to find it in that tsunami that swept through there. The shelves were empty, stuff was on the floor or out of place, there were carts with boxes that had just come off the truck just sitting in every row with no employee in sight working on them; matter of fact, one of the boxes felt off the cart and almost hit my toe. To add on to the mess, the people don't help. Loud and annoyingly fussing and cussing on the phone as they shop. I'll pass on this Dollar Tree next time. Should have gone to Bowie. read more

This store is junky and never have anything on the shelf. The customer service is terrible and i rather not deal with this store. The on line order sucks..they have you holding on the telephone for hours before answering the call. Dollar Tree on line is the worse store you can order from. Most of the Dollar Tree store is very unorganize merchandise constantly in the isle where you can't want. Do better with these stores or close them!!!! read more

I just left the store and for almost an hour they had one cashier alone. As I walked the isles I saw no one else stocking shelves or just assisting customers. The line got as long as 10 people and finally I had enough. I asked to speak to the mgr and two people came out the office, the one guy said he was on his way out and told to me talk to some other lady. I told the lady I thought it unsafe having just the one cashier in the store by herself. She didn't explain...just told me she understands. How could you go wrong with dollar tree it's a dollar everything is a dollar you walk in there like I need 10 party hats they're all a dollar. You go in there your bike needs some plates for a cookout guess what plates a dollar. The store at times could be a little disorganized but I think that's less due to this to wear it more to the people that shop at the store but I Degrass it's always a good place to go for this quick means that you need and for something pretty temporary. read more

I like this dollar tree because it's relatively new and cleaner than the others in the area. I always find what I need in here. They always have the regular items in stock. The staff is okay. Most of them are friendly. Their party supply section is well stocked and so is the gift wrapping section. I love to rack up on the disposable items in this store. read more

On more than one occasion, Ive encountered the same cashier who acts like she is giving me my items for free. At the minimum, if I'm coming to your store to spend MY money I expect a greeting. This lady does no greeting, or anything. She just acts like it's killing her to work there and place my stuff in a bag. my most recent experience here was just terrible. I'm not sure if its an overall Dollar tree problem or jus this store. it was during early june when there are a lot of celebrations going on. The store had two very long lines and lots of people were getting balloons, like 10 or more. the cashier has to stopped ringing to blow up the balloons. two other staff people who were doing absolutely nothing just kept fiddling at the front so it wasn't a staffing problem but I have been in other locations where they had very low staff. I asked the cashier if one of them could do all of the balloon requests so that he could start ringing. the cashier got very rude with me. I just put down my things and left. I'd rather pay more for better customer service than to deal with that. read more
