I had expected lower prices. I thought that the prices were average and not steeply discounted. Nonetheless, I chose a package of three name-brand scissors for $6, and my husband chose a package of candies for about $4. At the checkout, the cashier greeted us, accurately rang up our purchase, thanked us, and told us to have a good day.

Everything else I found was fairly current, though. Often times the produce is close to the end of its life, but, for example, I got pounds of strawberries for a fraction of the price of what I would have paid elsewhere and was able to make an incredible amount of jam with it! The staff is generally pretty friendly and very knowledgeable. They were easily able to tell me where things were when I needed something and they were very efficient at check out.

Ah! When I went inside the store, it reminded me of competing discount stores. Seasons of America similarly sells party supplies, holiday decorations, other seasonal items such as outdoor supplies, office and craft supplies, cleaning products, health and beauty products, some pet supplies, some foods, and some clothing. Prices were low. Examples of prices were $0.50 for a greeting card, $1.25 for a bottle of shampoo, and $35 for a holiday decoration. I bought several items--a gift bag, coloring book, aluminum foil, hole puncher, body wash, conditioner, and dice--and all of them cost less than $2 each. A couple of cash registers were open. The cashiers said hello and thank you. I do recommend that they wear their face masks over their noses rather than around their chins.

There is a huge parking lot (paid) behind the entire building and there are metered spaces in the front. They often host events like outdoor fitness classes, farmers markets and car shows. It really is amazing that you could mini golf, get a facial, drink wine or beer, eat delicious food, shop for books or grab a coffee all within a small area. There are several cut through areas which make it more manageable to get to your desired location from the parking lot. The biggest downside to me is that I wish there were more local businesses. While there is nothing wrong with chains, the Strip is such an important part of Pittsburgh's history that I wish it contained more independent businesses and restaurants and less chains.

At the same time, another employee positioned an iPhone near where we were standing, which made us feel uncomfortable and singled out. We are both African American, and the behavior of the employees felt prejudiced and unnecessary. We entered the store fully intending to purchase fragrances, but left feeling disappointed and unwilling to spend our hard-earned money in an environment where we felt judged rather than welcomed.

They also offer additional mark downs (based on the color of an item's tag) that seem to rotate once a month or so. I had heard this shop moved here into the Terminal, but I was not familiar with the brand. It's a nice little shop with cool decor. It is designed to look retro. They even have an old classic Triumph motorcycle on display. What caught our eye was a shirt displayed on an outside rack with a crying pirate on it that said . . . "Actually There's A Lot of Crying in Baseball," which is very apropos to our local Major League team here in Pittsburgh. The shirt was $36. We bought one for a Father's Day gift. I was surprised to learn that the return policy on shirts is one year . . . ONE YEAR!! That's kinda crazy, but apparently they are supposedly good quality, and made in the U.S.A. In addition to shirts, they also had other clothing too, such as hats, shorts, socks, n'at, and they even had stickers for sale . . . Cheers! P.S. One negative thing was that they don't give out paper receipts. You can have it e-mailed or sent by text. I opted for an e-mail, but it never actually arrived (meh)!!!
