We literally go to Trader Joes when we need our Brown Sugar Oatmilk creamer... and if you haven't tried this and aren't my competition in Pittsburgh... do it! I came in here and attempted to make it to where I needed to go, but could not find a clear path to what I wanted. Not only were the aisles packed with people, but there was clutter just about everywhere you went. The noise level in here was close to unbearable. I blame that on the child that fell out of the cart while no one was watching it. That screaming was kind of blood curdling. For as many people that were in here you would think that there would have been more than one register open. Home clearance items were largely broken/damaged/missing pieces. Seems like there's too much inventory- there's just stuff everywhere with no real reason for why it's there. There was a clearance Halloween display with a large supply of a certain item. I purchased that item and was told it wasn't meant for the clearance section, cashier yelled to the manager who said "it was probably tossed there" No, there were at least 5-6 of them sitting there. So, you really want to check sale/clearance items because it seems like the associates don't even know what they're doing and what's on sale. I don't think I'll be back, the quality is just not there.

The store employee made my 9 year old cry! The box was apparently not for sale - and it was the packs inside that were for sale, but the woman snatched them from her hand, grabbed a box cutter and tore open the box, then started screaming about a writing a ticket. My daughter thought she was calling the police to write her a ticket and she was in trouble.....she started crying and the beast, who had no situation awareness, just kept wailing about needing a ticket. My daughter eventually left with her mother while the cashier who noticed everything apologized profusely. The beast was clearly a manager because she clearly was put in the middle and didn't want the beast to see her apologizing to me. Disgusting behavior and will never shop there again. Hopefully that beast of a woman went home feeling good that she made the sweetest girl in the world cry.

And they don't run over and act like you might be stealing things if you use the self check out. One of the staff saved me from a bad potato. She pointed out that she suspected a bad potato in my bag and I should go get a new bag of potatoes. When I did use the staffed check out line, Another staff very carefully but efficiently packed my bag with the heavy stuff on the bottom. not everyone is that careful. But that kid certainly was. have a friend originally from Germany who was visiting--loved the pains au chocolat we had. And asked where they were from. She was shocked they were from Aldi -- as that's the low budget grocery in Germany where poor folks go. She has New respect for Aldi! FYI. You need a quarter to borrow a cart. And you can buy grocery bags there but it defeats the purpose of shopping there-getting value for your money. Some of The items offered seem exotic for a really good price. The Aldi finds aisle is the bomb. Sometime they have plush animals (brand name squish mallow ) or pokemon cards or Disney stuff etc. Usually it's a great deal. So who likes value for their money? Last visit there was a Volvo, Mercedes and Lexus in the lot along with Subarus and Kia and regular people cars. The guy getting out of the Mercedes had his reusable bag, so suspect it's not his first visit. There is some paper/litter around the cart area. That could be improved if they sent someone out to sweep up. 5/5 value for your money. Great produce. Nice staff. Love their philosophy of high quality for a good price . But not many stores put all of the employee responsibilities on the customer. Want a cart? Great put a down payment and bring the cart back to the store to get it back Want an item? Here - we just put out the bulk packaging and pallets. You can get it out. Aisles look like someone ripped into Sam's Club items - oh wait... that's intentional. Want your items bagged? No worries. We have tables for you to do it yourself after we scan things - or you guessed it - you can scan them. Aldi is genius! Lower price because they don't have to hire as many employees... and people love it. It is so successful that other industries and concepts should take note. Imagine a Chipotle where you can make your own burrito, you can bag it, and they would just weigh it. C'mon!! Monroeville Aldi is well done though! Private huge lot.
