There is a Planet Fitness to get your sweat on and a Giant Eagle underneath it to grab a meal after. There is fast food like KFC, Long John Silvers, and Wendy's and also local eats like a Chinese restaurant and a Mediterranean spot. The Beer Minimum next to the Wine and Spirits makes party shopping so easy. If you want to get glam there are several hair salons, nail shops, and a beauty supply store. And a local tuxedo shop. The entertainment (Penn Hills Cinema) and clothing shops aren't the best, but it is convenient to have them. There is plenty of parking, but sometimes Pittsburghers make up their own driving rules... right in front of the DMV. There is very little this plaza doesn't have, but a coffee shop would be a great addition.

Yeah, bulk purchases mean more planning and sometimes you don't 100 bags of the same thing over and over. But I love Sam's more for the extra things on top of just the bulk food. They have the absolute cheapest packaging supplies (I do a lot of shipping so cheap bubble wrap and tape SPEAK to me) The food samples are just nostalgic youth moments and still fun to grab multiple... PS the workers don't care. The faster it goes, the quicker they can go in the back. The scan and go changed the game. No more waiting in lines and no more wondering if you over spent as you wheel your big cart to the front. Simple integration in their app and simple to use. I wish more stores could get on board. Plus... now the automatic exit scanners mean no more employee fumbling through your cart to scan the required number of items. Sam's knows what we need and they implement it.

At least, one should be able to order from either the Cafe or the register. There is always a line of customers who have merchandise and the wait is too long. If you don't know, he was from Pittsburgh and 'Dawn of the Dead' was filmed at the mall in 1978. Probably the best thing that ever happened there. It's a mall with its anchor stores like every other mall across the country. And like those malls, it too has seen better days. Not many stores left and the ones that are still there seem old and crappy, much like the attitudes of the folks working there. I mean heck even 10 years ago, I would have said back then that it was still "ok". Not so much now. Sad but true. I don't even think of this place much unless at Steel City Con which is held next door. Long gone are the days of the suburban malls.

Very little national stores left here now. There are more empty stores than ever before. Sad. There are a few good stores left including, Macys, Dick's Sporting Goods, JC Penny's, Kay Jewelers Hallmark, Cinemark Theater & Red Robin. Dime deals can be found but not always. Service is average at best in most of the surviving stores. The video game arcade has a Zombie Laser Tag which is a fun place to have kids birthday parties. The mall was recently purchased by Walmart and is due to be demolished in 2027 so it's fair to say that it's in a state of limbo now. We shall see how this works out.

ReStore sells new and used appliances (e.g., washers, dryers, refrigerators, and stoves), furniture (e.g., couches, chairs, dining sets, and dressers), building materials (e.g., hardware, flooring, light fixtures, plumbing supplies, and windows), and home décor at low prices. The proceeds from the sales are used to build and repair housing for low-income families in the Pittsburgh area. Most recently, I emailed ReStore to ask if they would accept my shelving unit, coat rack, light fixtures, space heater, flower pots, hose hangers, and other items. I was required to send photos of the items to show the style and condition. Two days later, an employee replied that they would accept my items, and he scheduled a pickup from my house for several days later. On the pickup day, the pickup window was from 9 AM to 3 PM, and 15 minutes before the driver arrived at my house, he called me to inform me that he was on his way. The driver pulled up to my house in a truck (see the attached photo). He was very polite, and he moved my items from my driveway into his truck. At the end of his visit, he handed me a receipt, and he kindly thanked me and wished me a great day.

Don't mind the water stains towards the roof, focus on the merchandise in the aisles. Awesome is having a cooler/freezer section. Granted it's not a HUGE section, but they have it. I love this store!…read more It is by far the best Dollar Store that I have been to. This location is quite a bit larger than others in the area. It is always clean and well stocked too. You can find just about anything here from cups, plates, glasses and dishes to party and shipping supplies. The first section once you walk in the store is usually ever changing seasonal items as in if it's summertime there will be Memorial Day/ Fourth of July/ Labor Day Items and if it's Christmas Time there will be Christmas Items. They also have an aisle full of great cleaning products that actually work and clean very, very well. The party aisle is great for table coverings and party decorations for baby showers and birthday parties. I also hit the party aisle whenever I need a gift bag as they are just as nice as the ones at Hallmark but are only a buck. It seems like I am always in the school supply aisle as my daughter loves to spring last minute school projects on us. Be sure to hit the candy aisle if you enjoy going to the movies as they carry some of the exact same candy that Cinemark and Loews does for just $1. Sure beats paying $4.50 at the movie theater! There is even a frozen food section in the back of the store that is great when you need something quick to talk for lunch. The healthcare aisle has everything from name brand toothpaste, medicine and deodorant and so much more. The only negative about Dollar Tree is that you can easily spend a lot of money as all items are $1 or less you tend to throw extra in your cart and then at checkout you scratch your head once you realize that you have a $60 bill for the 60 items in your cart! LOL! With the shape that the economy has been in it's great to have stores like Dollar Tree where you can actually get quite a bit more for your hard earned money.

I also bought a Dutch oven and a covered deep pan. For the Dutch oven I had to look in 2 different locations for one that had a price so that was annoying. The cleanliness and organization of this store is sub-par over several visits. You can be a thrift store and be tidy at the same time, trust me. Try some other thrift/discount stores and you will see (Rose's in West Mifflin for one or any Ollie's or Big Lots). However if you are like me then just give yourself about 2-3 hours to browse so you can keep an eye out for bargains. Be warned you may, actually you will run into an item you love just to discover a huge stain or a ripped seam or a missing button. It happens, look for duplicates. Also place isn't real clean continuing on with its frugal POV. Best advice...Try everything on before you purchase it...I mean EVERYTHING. I have visually missed a broken zipper or a small hole in the arm, but upon trying it on, the flaw is quickly found. Also they have a weird return policy so better off to play it safe...
