Stopped in today while in the city for business. The shop isn't very big but it organized and priced fair. I bought a Curry jersey, my family said leave it to me to find his jersey while in Pittsburgh! I also found a cute Zara cap sleeve top. There was a couple shopping the same time I was. Best resale spot in Western PA by far!!! The men's section is always incredibly well-curated. You can get anything from unique vintage pieces to high-end trendy designer pieces all at an incredibly fair price. The vibe is also off the charts. Super wonky and fun. AND.... there's now a super cool resale record shop in the back room with all types of great finds at good prices, if you like vinyl. Plus, Josh, the owner, is a super awesome dude who's very personable and really cares about what he's doing for the community. My go to for re-sale! Love them. They take their time to go through your items that you bring in. They greet everyone who comes in. They share stories, talk about your items and really give you a fair price when they buy. They have terrific taste with a great variety. As compared to other places around the various neighborhoods in the east (not mentioning any names...that begin with an A), they are head and shoulders above! They have terrific hours as well. What a nice find for used women's clothing! I love thrift stores and this one uses their small venue space well. I was pleased with selections for quality, style, brands, and prices. I selected a pair of Athleta pants for 20.00, an Ann Taylor Loft blouse for 10.00 and a Maeve (Anthropologie brand) blouse for 9.00. All in great condition and stylish. Happy as can be! read more

Ugh, this place. I'm going to spend so much money here! I'm addicted. I want to come here every day and root through what comes in. I love that the store is so well curated by decade. I love that they actually carry larger sizes (a hard find with vintage clothes) and I love how friendly the owners are! Can you tell I love it? I love the set-up too. They have vintage hats lining the walls above the racks and racks of clothing. They have vintage suitcases lining the shelves. They have dresses separated from skirts and shirts separated from pants. They also have a couple bins full of $5, $3 and $1 jewelry. You better know I dug through that! I found this amazing floral rain jacket that I just couldn't part with, and the owner was kind enough to make me a deal. I was sold! I can't wait to go back... you'll find me digging through the bins soon enough! read more

I'm kicking myself in the butt for not buying the basically brand new shirt with the tags still on it in here. And I doubt that by the time I get back here that it will still be on the rack. The clothing here is pretty expansive. They have just about anything that you can think of. Short sleeved to long sleeved, jackets to jeans, even a few pair of shoes are here for your review. They even have a clearance rack if that is possible. The thing I like about this place most is that it doesn't emphasis the trendy. Unless what you view as trendy is retro. Even what they use to decipher the size of clothing is reused. They use old 45 records to let you know what size is what. The staff are super friendly and down to earth. This place definitely warrants many return visits. read more

Cool spot for vintage clothing. Clothes Minded is very similar to Avalon Exchange, but with much better prices. You can score Air Jordans, Yeezys and high end designer items like Burberry, Gucci and even Louis Vuitton from time to time as well. Josh the owner is really cool and will work with you. Be sure to follow their Instagram page @clothes_minded_pgh for all of their latest finds. Unlike other vintage shops they are very well organized. Accessories like hats, sunglasses and belts are in the front of the store. The high fashion items are in a glass case near the front also. The men's section is on the left and women's on the right and the fitting rooms are in the back. Whenever I'm in the area I try make it a point to stop by as I have scored something on just about every visit and find the prices to be quite reasonable for the most part. I have even seen pieces still with the store tags on them. They are a consignment shop too so that may be part of the reason why others find the prices to be high. I'm back! The last time I was here I did not have a good experience, as my previous rating will clearly show. I honestly didn't think I'd ever return here. Then it was brought to my attention that some Yelpers, well...let's just say they thought I deserved to give the place another chance. So I decided I would. The place has honestly made a 180-degree change from when I was last here. I didn't even mention in my last review that the floors were a mess and the paint on the walls was chipping horribly - but fortunately that's all been fixed and a new layer of paint gave the place a totally different look. Various decals are up on the walls now to add some personality to the place, too. Plus the racks were much easier to navigate, and I wasn't constantly tripping around the store. And unlike last time there was music pumping out over the speakers...although - and this is definitely personal taste talking here - I have to be honest, curse words and racial slurs just don't do anything for me, so I can't say I enjoyed everything being played musically during my visit. Anyway, not only does the store physically have a new look but the items available have also changed; last time I was here it was 50% newer stuff, 50% old stuff. Now I understand why some people were getting mad that I was calling the place a thrift store - since my last visit the store has received and collected far more vintage merch to sell. No wonder it's become so popular. (Granted, I'll still be referring to this shop by what's it classified as right on Yelp itself: Used/Consignment/Vintage.) The quality in what I found also skyrocketed from fairly worn and torn since my last visit. I even found some items I wanted to try on this time, and left with one of them - unfortunately as I'm sure fellow shoppers will understand, sometimes the items that fit your personality just don't fit your frame. So would I put this store on the same level as some of the 'Burgh's vintage boutiques? No, but I think a comparison of their racks would quickly reveal that they're not meant to be on the same level. Clothes Minded is, after all, a Used/Consignment/Vintage store, and a unique one. It's meeting a specific local demand and it's on its own level - a level that has vintage/used clothes available for used store pricing in a store that has a thrifty feel to it. If I could give the place a 3.5 rating, I would - 3.5 accurately sums up my experience after taking the music into account: more than a-ok, not quite enough to get me to want to come back in the near future. But now I will definitely consider stopping in the next time I'm in the area, and with a few more successful shopping trips I may finally be persuaded to join the hardcore fan category. Hopefully that potential and my new rating is enough to get me removed from the "frumpy idiot" list! :) read more

awesome place! the owner is super cool. I have bought and sold here. I had a good experience selling...he really knows his stuff and is cool about it unlike some other resale shops. I have also found some great pieces here that were priced really fairly. My newest obsession is a white cotton jcrew collection bomber that was in perfect condition and probably 1/10th of the original price. Also make sure to follow the shop on instagram! They always post awesome stuff that i believe you can buy over the phone if you have to have it before you can get over there. Big plus: unlike most thrift/consignment stores, it has a decent amount of men's clothing. Bigger plus: I'd actually wear a lot of it. Unfortunately the prices are more along the lines of what I'd expect when buying new (say, a shirt for $16-25 and a hefty bit more for coats, shoes etc; maybe I'm off as I generally buy stuff used). I freaking love this palace. You can find designer jeans for $19 and rather funky styles that are usually up my alley... especially during the summer months. However I was able to find a super cute coat that just fits perfectly. They also have a variety of designer bags and sunglasses every so often if you catch them on the right time. I've found the cutest coats, tops and dresses here that come from recognizable brands. Either way this place is awesome. I've hit this place up and was able to find a variety of designer clothes which says a freaking lot. I honestly don't know if I should have posted this as I may have less inventory for myself!! If this store was in Philly or NYC it'd only have 5-star reviews. Sorry, but that's just Pittsburgh... a lot of people do not get this kind of store here. They think it's a thrift store (which is just fine with me - you keep thinking that and continue to shop at the mall... I'll get all the awesome finds!). Again, really surprised after visiting Clothes Minded and seeing some of these, uh, closed minded reviews. First off, there is a lot of vintage here. In one place. And, really unique vintage. Vintage is usually not in perfect condition - there may be small imperfections (like holes). People who wear vintage are willing to fix the clothes they find because you can't find them anymore... what's one small hole in a 1940s dress (which I saw about 5 of on the rack last week)? Nothing. There are tons of items on the racks. That is awesome! Since it's resale and there is only one of each item, you need a lot in the store so that there is something for everyone. I found a Free People skirt with the original $148 tag on it (obviously unworn) for $8. Yeah... pretty awesome. Not to mention a few choice vintage finds. I saw soooo much good merch that wasn't for me, but that someone else will love. I have a hard time believing that there is anyone who loves good fashion and appreciates re-sale that wouldn't adore this store! read more

Very small, not well organized. The owner tried to make it looks cool, but it's not. The general taste is just not so good. The clothes are some how dirtier than the other consignment/second-hand stores I visited in PGH. It could be the light, but it lowered my desire to purchase anything here. Everything is way over priced. For most of the clothes, the prices is just like 70% of the new clothes on-sale price. I would rather buy any discounted new clothes than here. read more

Okay, I might be addicted to Clothes Minded. This store is a cross between a small vintagey shop and your typical consignment store. By which I mean, they sell mostly modern styles of both big name and no name labels but is selective about their offerings. There aren't a lot of resale shops offering modern styles that aren't huge/disorganized and annoying as hell to dig though. This store is super well-organized, making it a pleasure to shop in, and there are plenty of fitting rooms in the back. Items range from fair to excellent condition. Since I accidentally discovered this place waiting for my fiancee to finish his haircut next door, I have been back almost every week (yes, I fully admitted my addiction). It's big enough that there's always something new, but small enough that I can fully rifle through everything without breaking a sweat. I have found everything here from your typical Banana Republic crewneck sweater to an adorable Dutch milkmaid-looking dress that I'm pretty sure was hand-sewn. Best of all, the prices are pretty reasonable. Ergo, I can fuel my addiction without going completely broke, thank goodness. read more

I have been shopping at this resale shop since it's opening several years ago. I have not only had a stellar customer service experience every single time I go, I also have never walked out without finding something I love for a price I feel excited about as well. I've also had success selling there as well. You can find anything from name brand- I'm talking Louis V., Chanel and Prada to Alice and Olivia and Jeffrey Campbell- to awesome novelty finds like a tales from the crypt tank top or punk/rock tees and vintage finds like beautiful Peter Pan collar dress with an amazing print as well as everyday basics and it is all more than reasonably priced. Josh is not only my favorite local clothing shop owner, he's super friendly and down to earth and really knows what he's talking about when it comes to fashion. He recently added on some equally awesome and fashion savvy employees as well. The shop has an Instagram account you can browse if you wanna see for yourself. It's clothes_minded_pgh. Since great things go in and out of there so fast though I'd recommend stopping in. With that in mind, if you don't find anything on your first visit, give it another go. Clothes Minded is a great consignment shop. They have a great collection of popular and current clothing. I found a brown Michael Kors belt there for 17$. It was in great shape, with very very little wear. Yes, please! I also found a cute summer dress and belt to match. (Wishful thinking this time of year, as it is 10 degrees out) The shop has a bit of everything including coats, blazers, long sleeve shirts, pants, boots, accessories, dresses and skirts. You are sure to find something. I did not try to sell anything, so I cannot review the buy back policy. The store owner was there and he was really friendly. The best part of shopping in Bloomfield, on Liberty, is that there are a few thrift shops and other cute boutiques. I made a day of it and shopped the day away. read more

Came in here waiting for some takeout from Thai Cuisine across the street with some friends. They didn't really shop here because there wasn't really anything for me, or anything at all. They did, however, enjoy picking up some ridiculous pieces of clothing for me to try on. What started out as a survey turned into a great conversation about small business. He managed this while helping out customers too. Afterwards, I decided to browse some stuff with my girlfriend. Clothes Minded is hands down my favorite consignment shop in Pittsburgh. The owner buys fairly and sells great vintage and name brands for bargains compared to other places in the city. (Cough cough Avalon Exchange) He's always friendly and helpful too. I've bought multiple ModCloth dresses here for a fraction of the retail price, the jewelry counter always has something that catches my eye, and the clothing racks aren't jammed in the store. You're not fighting for a spot to browse on the rack, you know? Sometimes I do wish the clothing turnover was a little better; I stop by once every month or so and can usually spot multiple things I remember seeing during my last visit. Modern resale store with a large selection of womenswear and a medium selection of menswear. I stop in here occasionally to see whats new, and I've purchased quite a few things. Very unique and nice quality items. I find that they carry a lot of brands that I cant justify to buy new, but are marked down to more realistic prices for my budget. Some things may appear "expensive" for a used clothing item, but if you're familiar with the brand then you know it's a bargain. My reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that I would like to see a larger L/XL women's section. I can usually fit American brand size baggy M or regular L but upscale or overseas brands I need XL. It only takes me a few minutes to look through the selection of clothes that would fit me. Other than that, its a great part of the community. Great if you like new style clothes. read more

This shop just opened on Liberty Ave in Bloomfield - all vintage and resale. I would sale right now the selection is a little more vintage but there are some great newer finds in there as well. The clothes are all organized by size - which makes shopping super easy. Lots of men's and women's clothing and accessories as well. I think this place is just getting started -I picked up 3 things I love for less than $30. I will definitely stop back and this is a great addition to some of the other thrift shops on Liberty Ave. The one thing to note is that there were a few items that weren't in the greatest condition - mostly stains - but all were marked as it and priced lower. read more

By far the best thrift store in Pittsburgh. I'm at the point where half of my closet is from this shop. I find better stuff here than I can find anywhere else and it all is at great prices. I have to set a limit on myself or I'll buy too much. True story: I took a garbage bag filled with decent clothes to another popular thrift store in town and they offered me $20. I took the same bag to clothes minded and I got $60. You are getting ripped off if you go anywhere else. The owner is always nice and helpful too. All around good prices and also best payout for my higher end items and some rare vintage I sold. Prices were good for a resale store. Out of the 3 in Pittsburgh I know of, I find Clothes Minded to be the most affordable and with a wider variety of styles. They are not in a specific category and don't go for just 1 type of customer. Fun atmosphere, very relaxed, no snootiness, just all around good vibes. Better than Buffalo Exchange and Avalon in my opinion. When this neighborhood blows up, clothes minded will too. read more
