Every now and again I poke back in to check thriftique out and each time I am disappointed. It seems like they updated their store and now have a bigger "designer" section. This is great if you love spending close to brand new prices for target brands, Zara, and other fast fashion brands used clothing. Prices are astronomical for the quality and uninteresting selection. I found a few items made of good quality materials but half the articles were covered in stains and over fifty dollars. I'm interested to know how they choose to price their items. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket maybe this will be your place, but you can buy the same soup stained sweater for $5.99 at goodwill in the same building. I've accepted it just isn't my cup of tea. On a bright note, staff is always friendly and their music choices are great. The setup of the store is really nice and has a lot of clothes by color, which I like a lot. read more

Example: I found a top shop sweater I liked priced at $50 - WHAAAAT?! Also, I found a purse that had a cute and unique print, but no brand name on it. It was listed for $98. I was baffled. The price was the only issue for me. I'm going to be honest, this place makes no sense. Nothing is organized by size but by item and color? And the prices are also all over the map $2 to $6 dollars for some items, then $26-$45. Lamps for $80-100. If that stuff is designer vintage it's not anything I recognize. It's a fun concept I guess, and for a certain type of person maybe a goldmine but not for me. read more

Thriftique has a very nice selection of women's clothing. They have two sections, regular and designer, and the price difference is apparent. I found an amazing work top in the regular section for $8. The pieces offered in the designer collection were nice, but out of my price range. They certainly know the pieces they have and price them accordingly, however, I found the regular section prices to be pretty on-par with the Goodwill around the corner. If you are looking to score a designer piece for a cheap price, this isn't the place for you, but it is still worth stopping in even on a budget. first time coming to the location, and some of the clothes aren't bad, just expensive. if they see any name brand, regardless if its cute or not, the price is automatically $25. that being said, there were some cute things. just price was a little expensive for my liking considering it is a thrift store. the service was also very mediocre. I asked if there was a public bathroom, and the girl gave me a short "no public restroom" and as I turned around, I heard "check the sign next time". kind of rude and unnecessary. it was no surprise there was about four people in the store. kind of a waste of time, there are better thrifts around here. read more

Super thrift store. Organized well, great second hand merchandise at good prices. Years ago I purchased my china cabinet from them, one of such great quality i wouldn't have been abke to purchase new due to pricing. I l9ve that piece. Today discovered M.A. Hadley stoneware, unique and easy to spot to the trained eye. This is stoneware made in my birthtown of Louisville, KY and prized so had to get it. If you're looking for thrifty prices you may want to go to the goodwill next door. They do have nice stuff but the prices are out of whack. A Primark faux fur for $90? Delusional. But then you find the occasional deal like 7 For All Mankind jeans for $4 (but those are few and far between.) Broken vintage purses for $25 - yes, they are pretty but they are broken so price accordingly. Chipped cuff links for $16? No. It's a pity because they have a lot of nice things but the prices just make it a disappointing experience. read more

I was excited to look at thriftique because I've never been to the shop before but after that visit I was left confused and unimpressed. Their items are so expensive for things that are used. When I walked in there was a beautiful couch and I was immediately drawn to it. It was pretty big, one of those ones that wrapped around but did not have any recliners on it. I thought let's sit on it and see. Comfortable but worn would be how I would describe it. Then I look at the price tag, $3,000. I was appalled. I've seen couches like that no one's have have ever used for that price. Who do they think they are charging $3,000 for a couch that was used! After taking a little tour of the place and looking at the clothes and the rest of the furniture I realize that all of their prices were about that high. I understand that some of the stuff was a little bit better than Goodwill but it was not worth the price. If things are going to be used then they need to be priced as such. And I have no problem buying used clothing or furniture but not when the prices are outrageous. There was a dress that was priced at $25 and didn't even have the belt that went with it. I just ended up sitting on that $3,000 couch and waiting until my friends were done checking everything out. I'm all for reusing and recycling and making a profit, but I think that their prices we're too outrageous for even me to consider. And if someone is really in need a lot of their prices would be totally out of their range. Even the tables and chairs with scratches and obvious wear and tear were about $200. I don't know anyone who's going to be buying a used table for $200. But maybe I'm wrong. I might go back just because it's in the neighborhood but I doubt that I'm going to be purchasing anything from them anytime soon. I would hope to see some changes in their price structure or at least some sales. Because of right now the prices are just not worth it for the items in that store. Excellent selection of thrifted items. The store has a great collection of clothing, trinkets, and some furniture staples. As the items are higher end, it is a higher priced ship. Everyone was very friendly. Unfortunately, now that I am home looking at my items and receipt I see I was overcharged for more than half of my items. The gentleman at the register charged me $24 for a dress that was marked down to $2. The original price was only $20 so I am very confused by this. None of the 50% off items tagged in red or green were applied. And the receipt says all sales are final. I feel like someone got over on me. This is my first time shopping here because I typically find much better deals in goodwill around the corner but I wanted to give it a try and I was waxed an additional $40 than I should have spent. I stopped by Thriftique about an hour before closing. I wanted to see their film camera selection. I only found one point & shoot, it was expensive compared to many eBay sellers. So, I continued to look through the clothing racks. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection in the store. I looked through their jacket, coat and blazer selection for both men and women. I was utterly amazed. I began looking for a camel coat for myself. Unfortunately, I did not find one that was a good fit. I highly recommend for anyone looking for high end vintage circa 1980/1990s. I was able to spot two vintage Burberry Coats in the racks. One in the men's selection and one in the women's selection, both were under $200. Next door to Thriftique is a Goodwill. Thriftique is significant more costly than Goodwill's standardized pricing. In contrast, Thriftique is larger and cheaper than most consignment shops. The store makes it is easy to find high quality, high end items. Thriftique feels exceptional curated for thrift store of this size and price range. There are two groups of people, I would highly recommend going to Thriftique. Firstly, young professionals wanting to develop a mature wardrobe via a curated thrifting experience. Secondly, people interested in vintage high end fashion. The store is filled will tons of deadstock pieces from iconic brands in good condition, with prices lower than eBay for comparables. read more

A gem of a consignment store - I go here for the women's designer clothing. If you look carefully and take your time, you will find many high end designer clothes here. Today I saw: Issey Miyake, Tory Burch, Max Mara, Ecru, Alice + Olivia, Black Halo, Rene Lezard, Theory, Eileen Fisher, Phillip Lim - just to name a few. They also have lots of lower end designers: JCrew, Chico's, Athleta, Boden. No good high end designer purses today and few designer shoes but - all is in flux and depends on the day you go. I haven't been in here for about a year but I was pleasantly surprised at how well organized this store has become. Clothing is separated by color and it's not over crowded. I was expecting prices to be high based on other reviews but they were reasonable to prices on eBay w/o the shipping. This gem is located on 52 street in Lawrenceville with plenty of FREE parking. The dedicated staff are knowledgeable and pleasant and will help with all your questions. Sorry, but this place isn't all that. Yes, proceeds do go to something nice, but it's still a thrift store. It's kind of dirty when you walk in, and has the smell of old (should be expected, just like Goodwill). I have yet to find anything that could be of use to me in here. This is an awesome thrift store where the proceeds go to a local Jewish women's center. I highly recommend this place if you love decent clothes at great bargains. The store is pretty big. It is easily accessible via the 61B line, as the bus stops right in front of the plaza (especially if you are coming from CMU/UPitt area). There is also a small section from their high-end consignment store, Designer Days Boutique. It features clothing from brands like BCBG, Tahari, etc. This section is a little more pricey compared to the rest of the store (ex: $20 as opposed to $5 or less) but still a good place to find bargains for higher end stuff. The rest of the store has a ton of women, men, and children clothing (especially women's). The clothes are separated by type - women's blouses, women's skirts, women's pants, etc. They are sort of sorted by COLOR, but you do have to dig a bit for your size because they don't sort by size (hence the 4 stars). There are a lot of hidden gems at great prices in here, you just have to dig for them. For example, I found a black pair of dress pants from Ann Taylor LOFT for only $4! There are a lot of name brand clothing here too, like Banana Republic, J. Jill, J. Crew, Talbots. There is also a section for old books and furniture and knicks and knacks around the house, as well as shoes. Highly recommended for the bargain treasure hunters! read more

I am confused about Thriftique's business model. After making a donation I went inside to take a look and was SHOCKED at the prices: six hundred dollars for a used sofa, nine hundred and fifty dollars for a barrister's book case; thirty-five dollars for a cotton shirt. I assume the items being sold were all donated, but they are clearly not being marketed to anyone who needs reduced prices. I am sorry I made my donation to this organization. I've gotten some great items for my new apartment here. Some really cheap utensils ($0.25/each), mugs ($0.50/each), a glass pitcher ($4), a lamp ($5), and a chair ($15). They have some great furniture pieces here, some heavy wooden furniture that feels like it would last a while. If I had a truck, I'd probably furnish more of my apartment with items from here. The people working there are quite helpful and nice. I had wanted this end table, but it wouldn't fit in our car. When we were trying to cram the end table into our car, they even came out to try and help us. Alas, it couldn't fit, so they gave us a refund. I haven't seen too many thrift stores in this area, so I think I'll be coming back here often. read more

This is the high end store for the Goodwill brand. The items are of better quality than can sometimes be found in the regular Goodwill stores. The store has a large furniture section. On my visit, all furniture was 50% off. It was nice to see the same kinds of sales that the regular stores have. They also sell clothes, shoes, and other items. Come to the store with some room in your car in case you find that piece you just have to have. If you buy something, you are expected to take it with you right then. I have never been to the "Designer Days" that I know were so popular. I'm not into consignment. Old used stuff, is old used stuff. If I pay over $20 for something used it better be made of metal, glass, or real wood. That said, this is a great place, the ladies know what they're doing. I go here for clothes mostly. I found my mother a talbots camel hair jacket that she hasn't taken off in three years. They priced that jacket at goodwill price, $6. I was happy. You'll find a lot of clothes like that here, banana republic, chicos, anthropologie, etc. It's becasue the rich people give them stuff. Anything they can't sell for the consignment price comes here for the goodwill price. win. There are also other things, lots of records, furniture, some shoes, lots of pillows cases, table clothes, and blankets. It could be a little more organized, but otherwise solid thrift. read more

I went in for the first time today and chances are I'll never go back. The prices here are beyond ridiculous. I picked up a pair of fake leather women's boots, very worn and probably from target or a cheap juniors mall store to begin with ..$80! It is set up like the crappiest goodwill you've ever been in with the highest prices. I looked at a couple shirts and everything was overly priced as well for any kind of thrift store, in my opinion. The guy behind the register was very kind to every customer so this in no way has anything to do with that. Just the quality of items they had vs the prices were a definite no for me! read more

I'm a little torn on this review. I'm going to go with a quick and dirty to the point review and do a more indepth review after a second trip there. I honestly feel like they were switching out for the season AND it was a bag sale day where you could fill an entire bag of clothes for cheap. While this sounds like a great idea and a great deal I have a few qualms with this. 1. I rarely find enough clothing items to fill a bag. 2. The dressing rooms were closed bc it was a bag sale? I'm not interested in the bag sale so I couldn't try on a pair of dress pants I liked? Even though it was bare, I can still see the potential in this thrift store. I'll definitely be back to check out clothes on non-bag sale days. Besides the proceeds help a Jewish Women's Center and that's something I can definitely stand behind. read more
